the US defnitely got the short end of the stick. VOLTRON was also televised in the Philippines but did not have the same culutral impact to begin with a robot made up of 5 robot lions is just ridiculous!
I can confirm that voltes v was that loved here in the Philippines when I was a kid growing voltes v mas one of my first animes that I watched.
kurt morales seen it in Malaysia, not as big as Voltron here but yeah, it was quite enjoyable.
Don't forget about Daimos too they are always together if voltes v got a re-run Daimos follows
Yatterman has the villains that are the precursor to team rocket from Pokemon.
