One of the most interesting parts of this series is seeing how the robot designs slowly get closer to the "Gundam style"

      True, just look at Voltes.

ARX 351 no, Voltes V came first before Gundam. Gundam used the same color scheme as Combatler, Voltes V, Daitarn 3, and Zambot 3 because the colors were bright and attracted children. Watch the documentary on The making of Gundam.

dinosaur war aizenbrog was a weird one...but undeniably awesome at the same time, first became aware of it after watching the american compilation "movie" Attack of the supper monsters, that was a trip...

Fun fact, Daitetsujin 17 got a homage in Kamen Rider Fourze the Movie: Everyone, Space is Here! in the form of XVII and that wasn't the only Ishinomori series homage in that film.

Not such a very excellent presentation of Japanimation history, but the presenter nailed it to the point stating
"What VOLTRON is for America - VOLTES V is for the Philippines, and I think the U.S. got the short end of the stick on that."

Ay naku para di ko alam yung lumang balita na yun.
Masyadong late ka magreply (isang taon) tapos yung reply mo parang di pinoy kausap mo. Halatang pinoy ako since sinabi ko yung Daimos at yung movie ng Voltes V.

the US defnitely got the short end of the stick. VOLTRON was also televised in the Philippines but did not have the same culutral impact
to begin with a robot made up of 5 robot lions is just ridiculous!
