Thank you. I have been looking to how the original mecha began. I was an original AstroBoy fan born in "62, then Ultraman in the first grade, and then finally Robotech fan in the late 80's. Now at 56 y.o I do 3D Robots. ;-) I wanted to know exactly how transforming robots came about but now because of your excellent history I realize it wasn't just one stroke of genius. It was a very long involved slow process. Thank you.
i really enjoy the series of this and the gundam one, real good, should deserve much more view, infomative, entertaining and with passion, great job bro. greeting from hong kong
Keep at it prof. Love your stuff and can't wait for more of this, Greatest Character, and of course The Gundam Retrospective. Keep them coming man, but also take your time. I love getting great quality work from you.
On the bright side, better than getting involved in storyline that is "accountability is bad", having marriage erased by devil, and becoming CEO billionaire...with no everyone's favorite red head at his side.
This list misses stuff from time to time, especially trying to get through all those old shows. It also might not have been included if the robot was self-aware.
@@ProfessorOtakuD2 Thanks for the fast reply! I can imagine it isn't easy to catch everything! I'm a big figure nerd and started collecting 70's super robots quite recently. Your series is a great introduction and helped me greatly to decide which shows to check out before I pickup the figures. Keeps up the good work!!
A great episode, it's interesting to know the climate in which Gundam came out in. I hope the series continues :-) Btw, where may i ask is the intro clip at 0:23 from?
The Dark storytelling in Gundam was mostly inspiration from the Starship Troopers novels. Witch in itself was turned into an OVA Anime and then a crappy film, poor Starship Troopers never getting a Break.

Great episode. Didn't Ucuu Majin Daikengo also air in '78 after Daltanias? Surprised it wasn't given a mention, I was hoping to see it on the list.

Carefully keeping an eye on your series. Please make the videos a bit longer. Atleast 15 minutes long???!

Yup. There are workarounds, though.
