I have a revereware 2qt pot copper bottom, it’s I got for $1 at a garage sale, looked in great condition, but I soon found out it was as a newer flimsy pot, and the bottom pops around when you push lightly with thumb, and it dosnt sit flat so that gives it hot/cold spots😔
I do. I have previously thought of cutting an old Revere and Farberware down the middle. Have you seen the pictures on Revere thickness? Looks nice under magnification, but my camera? IDK
@@xetaprime I have seen the Revere Ware thickness in closeup but unfortunately the thickness is not measured. If you have a caliper it can finally be measured when cut in half.
Thanks for the video! Very glad to see the differences between them all! Man, those new Ekcoware pans are way too thin! Ugh, definitely avoiding those. As for the composistion of the stainless steel, apparently most 18/10 isn't even 18/10 but instead 18/8.3 and rounding up. So there's no real difference between the two. Revere Ware uses 18/6 stainless steel I've read. The eggwhite test got me wondering though, does your electric coil stove actually heat up from the outer coils to the inner coils. As in is it possible that over time the center of the coil warms up and leading to the false impression that the pans are less even heating than they really are? So you said you don't have any Revere Ware skillets, I'm guessing that you gave away your Revere Ware omelette pan?
Hey! Interestingly, my magnet won't stick at all to the 1 qt Revere ware pre-68 but will (lightly) to the 2 qt pre-68 (just tested). My coil's heating elements don't go all the way to the center. there's a 2 inch empty circle in the middle. Not sure how even they are but the cold spot is from no element there. So if the pan bottom has a good heat spreader, no cold spot. I completely forgot about the omelet pan! I still have it D'Ohhh!!! :)
@@xetaprime Now that is interesting to hear. I have heard of people saying that their post-1968 Revere Ware pans getting slight sticking to magnets as well. I've tried mine and none stick. I have something similar with some of my modern QVC Technique clad skillets. Magnets do not stick to them but stick to the 1 and 2 quart saucepans, and the 5 quart saute. The 5 quart Dutch Oven has a light stick to the magnets. Okay, good to know that you're sure with your electric coils. Even gas isn't as even as many people think. My biggest power burner also gets cold spots in the center depending on the heat setting, but generally does well. It's more noticeable with bigger pans though. Haha! Maybe a part two with the Revere Ware omelette pan, the Ekco chefs skillets, and the plastic handle Ekco? Now that you broke the handle off of the Flint pan, you could use it as a cake or pie pan. They're generally that thin anyway. I even checked back your other Ekcoware video and even the smaller 8 inch Revere Ware omelette pan weighs more than the Flint pan.
Plastic handle Ekco? You know my cookware better than I do! I used to own two Technique tri-ply skillets. I liked them a lot. Gave them away before though I got obsessed with cookware. Wish I hadn't.
@@xetaprime Yeah, aren't those handles made out of plastic as seen in this video? Looks like my comment was deleted because I added the price of a Technique skillet on there. But one is being sold on ebay.
@@AngelusBrady Righhtt?!!! I still haven't gotten to the 12. Will have to make a vid soon. The 12 is warped upwards but burgers or steak should cook nicely in it.
Very enjoyable horse race and symphony! I'm glad you showed the egg white test. I'm going to try it myself.
Thanks! Yeah, love the egg white test. First time I did that was because of Visions, with and without a heat spreader.

I was going to say a $1? Awesome! Then reading further not so much. Bummer :(
Do you still have the Flint pan? Would be a good excuse to cut it in half to see how thick it is.

Found a less expensive Ekcoware 12 inch skillet on ebay! Messaged you on ebay with a link.
Thanks AB! The video of all three pans is dedicated to you :) That, and my extra debt D'Ohhh!!!

cut the handle off and make it a dog food bowl :)
Ha! You know it might just pop off! I may try that one day :)
Disappointing.
