Gotta nominate BKXC for RUclips mountain biker of the year. Not for making any big changes, but for regularly cranking out the same content we all love and enjoy: riding the best trails in the world. Love it and can't wait for another year of riding and adventures!
I'm not much of a commenter but I just gotta say, I love these videos Brian. Your attitude, realism, so chill and so happy. All of it makes a great video. Keep it up.
Phil's World is SOOOOOOO fun! I'm glad you made a video for it! This trail is a hidden gem! Rib cage is amazing! Phil's world is right in between Moab and Durango so it doesn't get enough love. I wish you had more time... when you come back that way you need to ride White Mesa just Northwest of Albuquerque!
Just did this two days ago. Went from 1000 elevation without acclimating and made the 14 miles in 93 degree heat seem like 20. But it's my favorite trail ever. My brother lives in Durango, and we try to hit it up whenever I'm in town. However, i'm on a hard tail with flats, so it's always just entertaining enough to run a loop, hah!
The ranking of my favourite RUclips's - 1. BKXC 2. THE SINGLETRACK SAMPLER 3. SETH'S BIKE HACKS 4. MATT D'AVELLA 5. SCOTTY LAUGHLAND 6. BEN CATHRO 7. SKILLS WITH PHILL 8. MATT STONIE 9. Don't know who Phil is, but I like his vision! That notch at the 11:20 mark was cool! The rocky parts of that trail looked amazing, and it had major variety with the flow parts as well. Great riding as always, and I know how much those technical climbs take out of you. A mile of that is like 5 miles of flow trail, or maybe even more, so no surprise you were sweating! Thanks again for a great video recap, and that's a trail I would absolutely love to ride at some point on a trip out west. OH...and I'M SHOCkED that you didn't see an Armadillo riding here in Arkansas. Interesting that armadillos didn't show up in Arkansas at all until the late 60's, and then it was the mid 80's before they made it to central Arkansas, and then they weren't here in NWA until the late 90's. They just keep moving a little further north all the time! The reason I'm surprised you didn't see one is that they aren't very skittish. They pretty much ignore their surroundings because they feel protected with their armor. You DO NOT want to hit one on your MTB. It's like hitting a rock, and we've had a few locals hit them on the trails.
@@bkxc Gotta ride the Prospect trail, lung busting climb up to around 12,000ft then rippin downhill and for craziness do the Wasatch connector trail, climb 2000 then very exposed techy almost 4000ft down hill. Have to be later next summer though!

6:45 - You want to see an armadillo? Come on out to Florida! They're everywhere here in Orlando! Haha! Seriously, you should come on out to Florida. I'm not super familiar with the trails, but I could show you around Santos, Balm Boyette, Alafia...I know you've been to a few of those already, but why not come back and experience them again? I hope you have a very pleasant and safe Christmas season, Brian! Stay upright and keep the rubber side down! -Brian
I lived in Telluride for a couple years in the mid 90's. Have you ever been? I know the town is making a big push in MTB. They opened a new bike park this year!
Hey Brian...all your videos are life changing lessons for me n very inspiring....wanna ride but have no idea where n how to start..but hoping to meet u one day😊
Glad to hear you dig the vids! First thing is to know if you have a local mountain bike scene. Local bike shops will often do "no drop" rides for beginner folks. Head to a local bike shop and tell them that you're a beginner and don't know where to start. There's probably a local bike club as well, and you could find them on Facebook or wherever they have a presence and also ask them for help as a beginner. Bike clubs are great places because people have used gear that you can utilize instead of spending a ton of money to get started.
with the OneUp chain breaker, it works better if you loosen the bolt holding the chainbreaker to plastic handle, rotate it 90 degrees and re tighten the bolt, adds a bit more leverage and a lil less funk to use, but it's still a last resort version of the tool.
Consistency, I totally get the struggle. I go for a race or a big trip and come back and do nothing for a week or two. If only I could carry on from the high of a big ride...
Damn, last time I went to that path. Is that I actually almost fell off the cliff last time. I crash couple of time, man I ca. That path is a challenger💙💙💙

Hey Brian, could you dig a little deeper into the psychological aspect of that app/wristband.. What it makes you think of when you see a poor sleep or recovery read out and visa versa. That kind of stuff.. I really struggle with sleep and therefore my body is always running on fumes. Mainly because I'm on a "maintenance" pill to keep sober. It doesn't let me sleep more than a few hours at a time. (I'd rather be sober and sleep bad, so I'm sticking with medication and have for 4+ years now.) But I'm thinking if I could have an actual read out of potential changes to my sleep, then I could slowly keep introducing what helps me "recover" better. With the goal to elevate my riding ability, mood, and overall wellbeing. Cheers from Ontario.
