- Welcome to my full ride video of the North Carolina CATS Lynx Blue Line! Our journey starts at the south terminal station, I-485/South Blvd and runs the full length to UNC Charlotte/Main station. Enjoy the view!
On a sidenote, we were delayed in Downtown Charlotte due to a Military public demonstration. There's a couple of cool looking aircraft on my window side of the train.
Filmed with Sony HDR CX-440 and Zoom H1 on 9/10/2018
It would be amazing if the metro starts expanding south towards Carowinds. This would definitely help those tourist a bit.
Yes, save walking
@Chocolate Cake mad
We were suppose to have a light rail built here in Durham/Chapel hill, but due to corruption it was later cancelled :/
I'm sorry to hear!
Headed to this area in a couple of months to ride this system. It looks pretty neat!
It's a small system but it's brand new and everything about it is really nice. You'll enjoy it!
4:36 Please exit left.
7:25 Please stand clear doors are closing train is about to move.
10:49 Please exit right.
15:30 Please stand clear doors are closing train is about to move.
50:16 Please stand clear doors are closing train is about to move.
Rode this back when it first opened up. 485-Main Line. Nixe ride.
Nice! They've got a decent ride figured out. Hopefully it stays that way! I spent a lot of time looking at the construction of the rail bed and uprights, and everything else and it all looks high quality.
I think it’s very cool. My dad wanted me to ride it to and from school but that never happened because my mom wasn’t a fan of me riding it by myself.
I can imagine that's a difficult compromise, but it's always better to be safe than sorry. Hopefully someday you'll be able to use it more! Thanks for watching!
from my experience, if the metro in Washington dc is safe as long as u mind your business. Charlotte rail is safe, if not safer
Greensboro definitely needs a rail connector for high point and Winston-Salem that would be so convenient for commuters.
I have some cool content that you might be interested honey.
In all honesty, I'd like to see an expansion of grade separation. Doing that can help alleviate potential conflicts between trains and road vehicles (in particular, the buses, trucks, and emergency vehicles), as well as reduce the potential for people to be struck by trains.
Granted, I live in NYC, where the trains are mostly grade-separated, but I still think it would help.
It's unfortunate that it's so hard to predict the need to make the investment. Grade separation isn't cheap so it's hard to justify, but it's even harder to retroactively add it back later.
1:00 Now that's something Lynx does better than MAX. MAX trains don't say the name of the next stop until they're about to arrive.
I also like how it has bus transfer info.
@@CityLifeinAmerica Yeah MAX only has that at Pioneer Square where it's like "Bus and MAX service, on 5th and 6th avenues."
10:45 Woodlawn Station
Nice ride. WOW!
Glad you enjoyed!
Let me have a nice ride on u baby
To this day, I still can't find the Bus connection to Route 16 announced for Tyvola station.
Hah! That's no good! I had no idea it was like that. I wonder why the announcement is still running
Everything else is pretty much spot on. Route 23 should be added to 36th Street station, 16 can be caught at East/West, Bland St and Carson stations, but I doubt the city will do any editing.
I wanna visit Charlotte tho,, cause my favorite nfl United States Team from there.. Panthers ..they trash lately tho, but still thats my team. Where Cam Newton at !! He rep Charlotte
“Train is about to move” the way she says it is so cringeworthy
Yeah... Never sat right with me either! Imagine listening to it for an entire day while you film, haha!
where is this? "south terminal station, I-485/South Blvd" New York, Miami or where?
The Lynx system is located in North Carolina
@@NTxRE yes, I figured that one out but where is the station I-485? In what city or town? Not everybody lives in NC and even they may not know where that station is.
Ah, I gotcha. That specific station, as well as the whole Lynx line, serves Charlotte, NC.
@@NTxRE ok, now I got you. I just talked to my son who lives in Raleigh and he explained to me that the train only travels around Charlotte, I thought the train would go to different cities like they do here in Germany. Florida is building a high speed train now going from Miami up the east coast to Orlando and eventually down the west coast and back to Miami.
Sorry for confusing things further! Long distance trains here aren't nearly as exciting as they are over in Germany or anywhere else in Europe. We're way behind!
Hey there there is a walkway at DFW airport between the Texrail and the DART rail Orange Line maybe try to head back to Dallas to see the walkway between DART rail (Terminal A) and Texrail (Terminal B) Make a video Full Rides on Starting in Downtown Dallas at Union Station on the Westbound TRE to Fort Worth ITC or T&P then catch the Texrail Eastbound to DFW and then the walkway from the Texrail station and the DART rail station then the Orange line will take you back to Downtown Dallas in a full video I tried it before!
Sounds like a clever idea! I'll work on it when I get a chance.
Aint no way..ill get a job in that city n depend on that train..i will make it too work ,, but i be damned i sit on that train a whole hour waiting on my stop then gotta clock in 😢
If traffic is really bad you might feel differently, haha!
Couldn't help but get pissed of at the guy at 47:33 for littering and being lazy. So annoying
Nice catch! I missed that one! Trust me though, it bothers me too. What goes around comes around, so he'll pay.
@@NTxRE Absolutely, also I hope they expand this Rail to Mooresville, would be very efficient for many people here.
It's a nice, new system with new stock... If there's good ridership, I bet they'll be looking to expand. Hopefully that's the case!
