    Shooting a white background has been a staple in my headshot work since I created my signature look 20 years ago. Every portrait photographer should have in their wheelhouse the ability to evenly light a white background utilizing strobes. Here I'm putting Westcott's FJ-400 to the test as I use my trial and error technique to navigate the functionality of the unit and the FJ-X2m Universal Wireless Flash Trigger.

    I bought 4 of them and love them. Of course there is a bit of a learning curve.

    I learn all the time with these type of videos because that is the only avenue I have without having anyone to practice on.

    Well done! Love your style. I am still using my old school packs, strobe heads, and metering. FJ 400’s coming soon for location stuff. Would love for you to do a video on how you are tethering using Capture. Once again, love your presentation style.

    Great video!! I feel like you are me in dude form! Anyone have a hard time with the FJ400 going back to 1.0 each time after you've fired a shot on manual?

    I've never owned strobes and only own a 69$ Neewer lights from Amazon. I'm keen to get more and more into studio photography, fashion, product and on location lighting. The FJ400 as really caught my eye and I'm hoping to scoop some up during black Friday... Fingers crossed.. Nice PAM btw.

      The jump from Neewer to these is significant. Although I use another brand, these are an amazing value for price/performance including an American warranty compared to the Chinese alternatives.

    can anyone tell how to make that grey background white? :)

    • @mikecollins5261
      @mikecollins5261 2 года назад +1

      The color or tone of the background doesn't matter. If you put enough light on it, ANY color background will go white. Even black. It might take A LOT of light but it can be done.
