Agnes is the sister of Cornelia Goth, Mortimer's mum. Plus there is a book in the sims 3 called "where is Bella" by Alexander Goth (who seems to have time traveled) and I believe it’s a kids book(not sure tho) and maybe that’s a reference to Bella's portrait in the bookcase
The infant kit is a very specific style that I don't think will sell as much as a more neutral style, but honestly that's fine. It's cool to see more original concepts! Especially since kits are the cheapest DLC in TS4, it's nice to have a variety of options.
i’m a tad sad about the colour swatches on the storybook nursery one. i was hoping for more brown woods so it fits more into the whimsical witchy cottage core aesthetic
I was also a little sad that they didn't add swatches matching the nursery set to the Princess Cordelia beds which feel closest in style. That would have been cute. (Also for the double bed if the parents can't bear to have their newborn in another room.) I am also still waiting for the fabulously fricking fancy princess themed high-bed with frills and little curtains. For all the little Rapunzels who just don't have space to waste in their towers.
Same! There was such a variety and so cute. I also wish we had more of the toy doctor kit from Parenthood, so we'd have more interative plushies and dolls. Just add it to basegame; I doubt anyone is just buying the Parenthood Game pack for that. 😢
I'm a creative Sim junky so the art studio kit is right up my alley. Plus, my Mom is a watercolor artist, and the whole kit reminds me of her. I'm really looking forward to getting it, as it really speaks to me! The nursery kit is very cute. I do wish they were more consistent with the swatches though. I simply do not understand why they leave some out on certain objects. It has always mystified (and infuriated) me. Thank you so much for the overview. I would get them but haven't updated yet, and haven't since before Lovestruck. I'm still concerned about the updates wreaking havoc with my game. I play one main rotational save, and I'm NOT putting it at risk!
Also, back up your Save after every game session, if you don't already. Make a copy and keep the duplicate in another folder elsewhere and/or in the cloud, like with Google or One Drive, since things outside of bugs could ruin it or lose it. Just don't let either program have direct access to your OG Sims 4 folder. I made that mistake, and it tried to update it while I had the game open once. I luckily didn't lose much, but it did corrupt the save I was playing in, and it crashed, lol. 😅
@@DoveJS Theoretically, my saves are saved to the network, but also synced via OneDrive after every session. I am synced across three devices. So far, after 3 years of this, I haven't had any issues. I’m with you on the art and wood HOWEVER I disagree on the nursery kit. I was so bored and over our kids stuff and I loooove it. If you are playing a family with old money this is what they would have. Love it❤
Imagine if you could craft anything wood from the catalogue in wood swatches at level 10 handiness , and imagine that if you had at least level 4 painting you could do any of the coloured swatches as well...
i mean that would be sick but i doubt that’s ever gonna happen as that would be a looooooong list. but i think introducing new objects to it would be incredible for storytelling, memories and personalisation
I really like the storybook nursery kit as I have struggled to make nurseries that match very old/ traditional styles without being too over the top like some of the vampire items. I love the little attention to details referencing the sims lore too. Tbh I could’ve lived without the artist kit but I imagine it’s one of the more popular base game skills and I haven’t used it in a while so maybe it’ll be fun to revisit it. I do however love the industrial vibe of the faux bookcases and think they could be quite versatile.
As an artist, I absolutely love the artist kit! So many of these objects are going to be used in every one of my builds from now on. ❤ Also, the box IS usable, not sure why it wasn’t working for you.
i wish the infants kit would come with more neutral textures, i dont have victorians sims bahaha. i dont think i will get it because of that althought i love the sims 2 references
Thanks for checking the functionality of the objects. It's important to know if we can get a use out of the items. I am excited about the nursery. I won't be using the goth colored version. I wish we had a few swatches that were neither goth nor pastel, with normal wood colors. But still going to use it. I think this will become my go to toddlerbed and infant play mat.
I would love to be able to sculpt from reference - but that's too much to ask from a kit. Pottery would be a great addition, as well. Under-whelmed by these kits ngl.
I don't really agree that you can do the gothic nursery already with existing packs, it might be because I don't own all of them and you do, but I've been reaaally hoping for exactly something like this, because I'm really bored of normal boring nurseries and kids rooms! Yes, this might be more niche, but it's exactly what people like me want who don't want to build always similar nurseries. If I have a very edgy and alternative couple, for example, and they get a child, I would looove to build a edgy black nursery and kids room for them, but have been forced to use all the happy happy colours and bunnies and fairies and all things nice. This isn't real life, I don't need to think about how the kid would feel living in a dark bedroom 😁
yeah definitely having RoM and vampires helps with that feeling especially for bassinets and kids rooms rather than toddlers and infants. i usually point that out in these videos so my bad for not mentioning it’s easier with certain packs
I’m very disappointed in the storybook kit. I don’t think this is a bad kit, but personally don’t like Bella Goth so I don’t want any references to her in furniture. It’s also a very niche set, I would have prefered a more usuable set I could have used for babies, toddlers and children. I feel as if we share the same sentiment here. I LOVED the themed kids room in Sims 2, something along those lines would be awesome to have as a kit or stuff pack. The artist kit looks nice, I just don’t feel like I really want or need it. We need more hobbies in the game instead. Thanks for showing us the stuff!
I'm popping in to say that you can't use the change swatch tool on the blocks we have in game now so it's not surprising that your can't use it for the new ones. Wish they'd fix that.
With all the references to circuses (plus a reference to Makin Magic from sims 1) I wonder if they might be implying a circus pack in the next few years?
The doll from the dollhouse is one of the base game dolls. I've never paid attention to them, though, so I don't know if they're random or if there are certain dolls with certain houses, because there are at least two sets of dolls.
About the Woodworking Table, what IF with the new EP comes the possibility of crafting your own Coffin? At the Woodworking Table? Could be a nice addition and maybe they will add some more options into the Game to craft at that Table.
That doll is actually the same doll as one of the base game dollhouses if I remember correctly. I don’t think she’s meant to be based on anyone but I could be wrong
I ordered the artist studio kit right away b/c I always play artist sims in my game, and also just for the new woodworking table and easel. 💜 I don't think we have many easels that aren't career unlockables? I already wasn't going to buy the nursery kit b/c it's just not my type of gameplay, plus I don't vibe with the style and I find some of the pattern/color combos a bit odd. The kit does look great in general, but I feel like some of the items aren't very maxis match? The crib, dollhouse and chandelier especially. Or maybe I'd have to see them up close. 🤔Then again, some base game items from recent updates have a completely different look to most early items as well... Also, (on a semi adjacent note 😅) looking at the woodworking table, I noticed they've updated some of the object information. The woodworking tables now state a Carpentry quality. And some items with environmental qualities have been updated as well, e.g. items that use power or water, now say Power efficiency and Water efficiency, instead of consumption. So that's interesting. I'm not sure if they've updated anything else, those are the ones I noticed so far.
i'm NOT into the goth aesthetic, but the pastels left me sitting on eggshells to get the Storybook Nursery kit THE MINUTE it came out. I feel the pastel swatches are a LOT more versatile then the goth swatches, but the goth swatches will be great for simmers who- for example- play a lot with occult sims. Can somebody say Vampire Legacy? So while half the swatches aren't exactly my cup of tea, im glad the simmers who will get use out of them have them. I will probably only use the growing together update bassinet and the new bassinet in it's cutesier swatches movin forward. The ruffles are adorable.
This art-pack is the first expansion pack I've really, really wanted, pretty much since Sims 4 was released. I do however totally agree about the woodworking bench. Maybe the concern is the overlap between it, and the eco-lifestyle's fabricator?! 🤔 The only thing that peaked my interest from the nursery-pack are the blocks; I'm just so tired of seeing the same three swatches 😅
Wait did they make a changing table base game? Cos they definitely weren’t part of the base game when Growing Together came out cos I remember people being annoyed about it
