Why is there so much variation in how long the Aspen Grove Trail is? You say 16 miles, AllTrails says 15.6 miles, and another post says that it is 6.82 miles one-way. Who is correct? Oh, and Google Maps says 6.8 miles one-way.
That is a great question. I've hiked this mountain every year for the last 20 years and we have that exact conversation every year haha. The mileage that's listed at the ranger station at the beginning of the trail is also different from the mileages you mentioned, I don't remember exactly but I think it is somewhere in the 7s one way. I am inclined to believe that AllTrails is probably pretty accurate. I recorded this hike on Strava and I didn't pause at all, so the mileage I listed includes walking around at Emerald Lake and walking around the summit. We spent a good chunk of time in both places and so I could have easily added on .4 miles from all of the extra moving around.
Nice video and beautifully cinemagraphed! A new fan from Shah Alam, Malaysia 👍🇲🇾
Thank you Fuad! Glad you liked the video! There are more coming and more that you can explore on the channel.
