I think with the food, you want to use majority meat, something like 2 : 1 ratio of Meat to Grain, since you also use grain to feed the Chickens, you need to have a stockpile of it for the winter.
As long as winter doesn’t move. (Spoiler for the future)
Also since he previously mentioned that rations can spoil, if spoilage doesn't extend to raw meat in the current alpha it could very well be something they add in later.

24:20 I've actually made the mistake of hitting the repair command on a structure during a night attack, thinking that would just queue up repairs for the unarmed civs to do in the morning when it's safe...nope. They walked right out of their living quarters to do the repairs and got a bunch of themselves devoured
That sounds like a bug. They shouldn’t leave safety during the night, as they do not work during the night.

~timestamp 47:00: @Charlie Pryor, to answer your question, the chickens take a grain to feed them. i noticed that the barns take like...2 grains each?? so you get enough grains to keep the coops running, and use the meat to make rations seems the most straight-forward way. would also save on fields. i think you could probably get enough out of say 4 fields, maybe 3? and then you could max out your cookhouses with the previous farmhands turned cookhouse.

You need the wheat to make the meat, so you keep the wheat and cook the meat.
It would be nice if the people just eat the perishable foods first and save the canned ones stocked for the winter and its also helpful if the squads can also do labor without being disbanded that way they can use a vehicle suited to carry construction materials from far away locations

I wonder if this game recognise military bases.
I'd hope they do haha, but I'm getting the feeling the creators did alot of things to this game to avoid it from becoming too easy, like the restrictions on choosing extremely rural areas if the OSM tool can't map enough structures. A base might be there but not as well fortified and stocked as you'd expect

47:28 Someone I was watching earlier said grain spoils earlier so he has a 3:1 ratio on cookhouses with at least 4 people on each for grain : meat (so 3 houses for grain and 1 for meat) year round. You eventually get enough grain to sustain this even during winter months (obviously depending where in the world you are.)
PS this is when he had a lot of grain fields producing and had 2 barns of chickens.
That’s interesting. I’d think meat would spoil faster than grain. Silos on farms are for grain storage, I assumed for the winter months. Meat is usually spoils faster unless it is frozen or cured.

Does the infirmary automatically heal up your squad people? because it still looks to me like they are wounded, do you have to actively tell them to go and get healed up?
Also I think that mission house bugged out, since you got an assault rifle in it, it gave you that pop up message instead of potentially the mission pop up?
Have to manually bring them there while in an active squad. Kinda silly.
@@CharliePryor that's what I suspected. I hope the developers will give some list of command priorities upon release where you can set squads to withdraw and seek medical attention after set amount of damage, or while at base, automatically swap members who are too wounded with fresh ones. Seems a bit micromanagy at this stage.

Why did you put that tower in the bottom right corner? I thought you were gonna turn that building across the road East into a second warehouse?
Shooting on the move would mean demised accuracy and wasted ammo that is limited supply, so accurate supported shots are far more efficient. Specially thing for long guns that are harder to wield with in vehicle on full size rifle. Try to shoot while moving and you see how it effects accuracy, now test it on vehicle while its moving in street that has not been maintained who knows how long.
Also i'm getting more like Tom Hanks feel from the voice actor, but sure he does have cage style speaking pattern

I do have to say you got me hooked on this game. However I do have a question ( you are not the only one doing this act, so im not picking on you), Why do you move your screen to HQ when you have a squad picked to send them there? Look in the squad window once picked ,that star in that window is HQ by hitting that star will send them to HQ and its less moving. Im not sure if you seen it or you are not doing it for a reason or not.
I use both methods often. IDK what to tell ya. Perhaps you're just not catching the button press, or I'm editing those segments out.

If im correct, u can partially take/convert buildings by holding shift
You cannot do partial adaptations to HQ building. There's nothing I can do to it, as far as I can tell. Been trying
@@CharliePryor yes it looks like a display issue or optical illusion as you have two buildings close together and it is letting you know the one to the left of your HQ is still available to convert. So you have the odd slice effect on it.
i would preoritized grain, over meat. youll still need to feed to produce in a way.

I think they hard code in limited fuel as I have seen a couple of youtubers playing this game have the "race against time" to get to making fuel, even one of them bee lining towards making fuel as the first thing they do after the antenna. But, yes, just like 7 days to die, books are important in this game....
I'd strongly recommend against extending your base along the long dimension. In the interests of keeping travel distances as short as possible, one would want the base to be as close to a circle (more practically a square) as possible, with the HQ in the center.

the fields of grains are produce 4 stock of grain while you can use firtilieser to make 9 stocks
also you have a lot of people and guns just use the cars to scavenjure at night's to get canned food
just make them work 24h per day

From a strictly logical perspective it does not matter the order you use grain vs meat. Disregarding spoilage here. Once it is in your stockpile the limits on when you can produce the item cease being relevant.

Buffalo Wild Wings used to be called “BW3” before it rebranded. “Dubs” is a short for “double-u” as W is spoken, kinda how sports fans “want the dub” or “the W”.
So “B-dubs” as in BW3… carries from the past to Buffalo Wild Wings.
