The highlight on your HQ is your resource capacity. I’ve never played the game but I can already tell that it’s not a glitch, it just shows how full your capacity is.
That is not what the highlight is. In this build, there is a maximum size for your starting HQ. if your HQ building is larger than that maximum size allowed, you only claim a portion of the building.
Video length is super duper, it would be nice if during the wait times you could talk more about the higher level goals and future plans. Of particular interest is moral and efficiency improvements (like perhaps shortening the walking meat cycle barn->storage->cook house->storage
You can select the amount of occupancy that any building you occupy in during game so you don’t need to have 1000 wood per building in cities like New York, so when you select the build to make, say a warehouse, you can decide to claim only 30% to save on resources. However, the HQ has a maximum limit to prevent you occupying the entire empire states building and never needing to build warehouses. This means it will only occupy the maximum allowable size allowable by the game (or less if it’s a smaller building). This currently can’t be upgraded, but it may get looked at in the future according to a dev on steam.
This is a fun series. I watch it, keep it on in the background, check back. i might watch 30 mins and come back and finish it but that's cool with me. I do hate when i run out of videos though because i get caught up. :) Good problem to have i guess though. Keep up the good work
Yes we learn through failure more than success....your videos got me to buy the game...I am playing v 24.5.10...to select multiple squads press the squad button top right and use control click on the squads you want...it's a lot easier

As far as I'm aware, I have zero choice in that. No ability to influence at all what the HQ adaptation was at the start. Looking back at Episode one, as well as with my own restarts in testing, there is nothing I could do when choosing the HQ location. There is no partial adaptation option - which is entirely my point: Why would it be constantly brought up, if there's nothing that can be done about it
Given the sizes of some of the buildings in this game, especially taking into consideration the real life sizes of buildings like skyscrapers and office towers, fully converting a building would result in excessive use of time, manpower and resources. That's when it makes sense to partially convert a building. On the other hand, I was disappointed to learn that it 2as impossible to convert multiple sections of a single building to different uses.
I saw a dev post on steam, they said the HQ max size is limited to stop abuse, otherwise there would be no point for warehouses, you would just occupy the most massive building and have huge amounts of storage.
This game soooooo so needs to be ported to console but failing that i might have to get a pc setup just to play it Either way i can see it making the dev a lot of wonga 🤑
I feel like your HQ has terrible line of sight at the backside near the radio tower, from the front they shoot at zombies everywhere but from the back they don’t seem to shoot much

Yes the wall is just about done . Buuut , now repeat the process and double up your wall . Put another wall inside the existing wall , beveling out from the gates , with a small gap , like 1 or two “feet” between the two walls ..

OK do an exchange with the building that has the medkit and the wounded person than take the meditation and move it over the wounded to use it....I know a little too late
Slight overlap is fine. Towers are great as long as they are metal. They have more HP than most buildings. Putting them close enough to cover other towers is nice, but I don’t think it’s super necessary. I’ll probably do it anyways eventually. Right now I just want wide coverage
My squads Do lose their chevrons when disbanded, But, they aren't supposed to. My situation is bugged. But could be happening to others causing them to think its a normal thing. shrugs*
Why not persistently and forever perform a manual process requiring multiple clicks on each end, each and every time, every single day? Is that the question? ;)
Hey Charlie you can remove people from the guard towers during the day and can use the workforce. Man these towers in the evening ready for the night like you are doing with your squads. Its a bit of micromanaging but yeah gives you 10-15 more idle workers.
In the day assigned personnel will repair and reload the tower. They were also going to add a mood debuff for this too, not sure if it’s implemented yet though.

Use bows and Arrows in the towers. You can conserve ammo that way

He said in a previous video that the intent is a concentric out wall in the next tier wall at some point.
I noticed when you select multiple squads you can disband them all in the menu on the right instead of clicking each one individually.

squads don't shoot when on the move. And the HQ is indeed partially utilized, but once set the amount of space to use, it cannot be adjusted

HQ has a set size no matter the building size. And you cannot choose the size regardless. You get what you get from the start. Do you even IFZ?

Capacity doesn’t accelerate colony growth as far as I’m aware. It just allowed for more comfort for more people.

If you click on the squad menu on the top right corner, you can disband from there!
I know. What you cant do though, is associate the specific number on the squad in the corner, with the squad that’s in front of your face.
If they were to make this game for mobile devices, it would surely be a hit.
On the people that are hurt, do you have to manually send them to the hospital to get them treatment or is it suppose to be an automatic behavior?
It’s manual… which is lame. However,. It’s actually really fast too, so whatever.

Having the kitchen with staff also halts it. That's the problem being had here

It literally is alpha. It’s pre-early access even.
Your squads are losing experience, a different composition means different stats.
Dont you mean increase by ⅓ not by over double on the farms since you have already doubled it
