33:55 I think this is an undeveloped story scene. If you remember in the beginning of the game a zombie followed a group of soldier out under the sun and stared at them, and here a zombie is using the radio. I think the game is trying to tell us the zombies are starting to developed intelligence. It would be cool if they can put more emphasis on the story.
‘I’m gunna donate you to a Community College’! lol best line of the video lol
just about to comment this haha
a maintenance team building would be nice, staff go out an repair walls/towers/buildings/cars without having to find the damaged bits of wall
Please keep releasing the videos fast some of the only high quality IFZ content on RUclips ❤
I did accidently find that the TAB key jumps you to the different squad locations. That was a pleasant feature find that I didn't know. Also found a bug where my Warehouse fills up extremely fast and then not long after that just causes a game exit without a bug report opportunity. This kept happening right after I found one of those "Prepper" storage houses. The warehouse would fill up with some random item like steel. Game exits, reload last save and right after I send the prepper stuff back to the base, the warehouse fills up with chicken. Way more than I can produce. But hey, someday we will be looking back at these early days and bragging about how bad we use to have it. A lot of great potential for the game!
How that interaction should go down.
Psychotic guy: Ha ha ha.... this is over!
Operator: I'm sorry, I didn't catch that. This is what? Over.
FOR THE ALGORITHM!
Also the tip about zombies needing to use a building's doors like proper gentlemen is appreciated.
For the algorithm!
Arrrrrr!
This is the third playthrough I've watched you play and decided to buy the game yesterday and I didn't think I'd find myself using cars to distract the hordes like you do but i definitely borrowed a play out of your playbook using the vehicles to drive around (fully armed) and shoot the hordes from a distance 😂 i even use multiple vehicles to ambush hordes in some strategic areas of my map 😁 love the content!
The art of distraction is a powerful tool, not fully appreciated until experienced for yourself. :)
I have no idea how many more episodes there are of this, but I honestly hope this is still in production:) great content!
you would be surprised what a copious amount of towers behind walls and gates can do with bow and arrows :D
played a small town in EU, which only had enough guns to supply 4 squads with guns, so I relied on bow&arrow towers and gates (along with a pair of knife squads in cars doing loops in front of the walls to distract the infected). I'm now day 32 with two layers of metal gates & brick walls with barbed wire in front, didn't have a (serious) breach yet.
that small town being less 50km away from a major town, the game thinks it was "densily populated" so the hordes are huge, even more as I started with the horde difficulty setting set to high :D
(But I'm on medium, since I also started with 50 pop - ressources were left on the standard setting)
Well of course, obviously if you dedicate more people to the defense it’ll be more effective. Not surprised at all that a large number of towers with bows will be effective compared to a single tower with pistols. That was sorta my point though. If you want to put less people and resources into it, bows are weak. Go guns.
Once we’re making our own ammo anyways, it won’t matter as much, and we can just put rifles in all gates and towers. If we’re low on ammo, then sure, build a bunch of towers with bows. It’s all good. Just takes 3X the people to do the same damage
I saw a comment that hordes come from off map? I don’t think they just spawn in the map is what they were saying. But, if there’s a densely populated area nearby nearby, and that’s true, it might explain why you get more more people than the square you chose would’ve given you. If anybody cares to chime in with further information, that would be great.
@@TheOneTrueGriswel but then, the problem is that the "major city" is 50km away, and that in between it's marshes and hills
EDIT : at least, the hordes do seem to mostly come from that direction, so... it could make at least a bit of sense :p
dont get to "held up" on your walls. I won't spoil it though. However, me living right above a sewer exchange makes me horrified now haha.
It seems like if any of the perimeter buildings have their entrances on the outside would be a decent place to stack up the barbed wire; then enemies would likely be taking damage when they enter and again when they leave the shelter.
This channel is underrated for the quality of the videos
Hiyas all, Love the vids and game so far (I've been addicted to it :). Anyways wanted to give out a tip to the ppl here. Tip: Use the warehouses as your little resupply depot, use them around your base to 1. give the plebes a close place to drop off products or pick up (make them work faster) 2. also use them a your little forts (the warehouses are linked, so your ppl are always loaded with bullets).
I wonder if saving those unarmed raiders from the zombies gives you the chance to recruit them. They were the ones who reached you and were harmless. Could this be some kind of mission? Great video!
I need more of this series!!!!!!!
Fortified Wall with Barbed Wire in front of it. Kills the zombies while they try to destroy it. You can also rename squads so you know who they are like "Assault Team" and use the squad modal window to select multiple squads.
1) uh huh
2) Renaming doesn’t persist through disbanding, and doesn’t connect with squads on screen without cycling through.
3) Numbers do not correlate with squads on screen without cycling through either.
There is no visual connection between the squads listed, and their names, and the squads on screen/map without individual cycle.
this game sure looks like it has promise, Especially IF in the end you can actually not only Win(outlast the Infected) But also play it in different countries across the globe
GO 100K GO
One of the best things about this game is the amount of voiced lines, so if you have the chance to help with maybe another story element or character for voice over opportunities, that would be awesome!
Water is though no longer a defence wall, they just cross the water like nothing, so it doesn't really help using it as a natural defence, but those houses used as wall is a good idea, will try that in the next playthrough.
They definitely get slower over water. Much slower. - They also attack/do damage at 50% when in water. It's not just nothing.
So yes, cb- radios are one way.
if u both speak at the same time u can get a squak sound, usually u just dont hear anything.
that said, mics worked like mouse, u have to hold key down to talk.... so short of holding the button down, they wouldnt be keying the mic. ofc tech has changed a lot of that too. i used to the stuf from the 80s lol. i sure there much more digitial versions now.
“We`re going to build a wall, folks. We`re going to build a wall. That wall will go up so fast, your head will spin.”
-Charlie Pryor
If you are playing in a populated area i advise you to prepare yourself with guards stationed with weapons (preferably snipers) and having at least 15 squads with weapons behind the walls by night 29. Because lemme tell u, day 30 and onward, on max difficulty swarms, yeah they’ll walk over your dead bodies alright.
If your in a vehicle and you scavenge one of the areas outside the map and save and reload you magically get a full inventory of food and ammo and tools without even scavenging it
I obviously can’t see what you click but with the circuitous roots cars use sometimes, just reminding you that alt right click tells your vehicles “where we’re going we don’t need roads “
On the toolshed, the extra walking and inventory management could be a problem. Maybe just build your sheds using tools, and if you have one shed per ten workers you get the bonus (or % if less).
Keep the zombies coming
FOR OUR BOI CHARLIE
Want more videos from this❤
My recommendation is to put wired near the walls because they will destroy it first and move slowly and you can kill then faster but if you put them far away you loose material they will destroy it super fast and you wont be able to defend it dogs destroy wired super fast
You can bring squad outside the zone which is expedition, they give tons of resources, better build factory (weapon/ammo) found some other streamers you can build them with no ease.
Oh, mygawd, when is he going to finish painting the ceiling in the dungeon?
Love your videos brother❤
Thanks!
Regarding the wall discussion around 20mins, have you considered doing layers of brick walls?
None of my saves work anymore 😭 had some awesome bases, will just have to wait on the next patch I guess
not sure if my strategy will work for IFZ, but if you funnel the AI through a path, it would be more effective to place your barbed wired in the same direction and on top of the path, instead of the typical perpendicular layer that only applies barbed damage once. I imagine that if you leave a small enough gap along the wall and make a thin corridor that is about the same width as the barbed wire, it could fill the entire passage but still be a path that the AI chooses to walk across, instead of beating the walls.. Again, i'm not sure, just an idea
25:25 if this building is going to be a daytime 'shelter' for infected, putting Barbed wire along that entire front face, so if the approach from either corner, have to travel 1/2 a buildings worth distance thru the wire to get to the door.
Ahh, only 45 mins :( lol give us more my man!
Would be helpful if you could demolish only a part of a building, so you could use the remaining part as a wall.
You may know already, but you can ctrl-left click to select more than one squad at a time. No "loop" to easily select a group though.
How do you think I’ve been doing that this whole time?
@@CharliePryor😂😂
@@CharliePryor simply wrong ...what ever you do
@@ottonormalburger2641 there’s been a wave of people telling me how to do things I’m literally demonstrating in the video they are commenting on. I swear it’s just the 2x speed people, with the low retention that comes with doing that.
@@CharliePryor Keep it up bud...the backseat is getting bigger as you grow the channel. Adjust the mirrors and keep the eyes on the road. 👍🏼
I think my solar Panel mission bugged out. I keep going into the house and don’t get the dialog :/ the yellow exclamation point is still on the building
4:40 min. If you had only 3 people in that squad, would it be possible to take that scary guy into the car ?!? Should be possible...
I did wonder if the infected in this game are all dead zombie like the walkers of the walking dead or are they still somewhat alive and simply sick because of the mad virus?
Nice series... Why dont you use sniper rifles instead? Arent they effective or are they too expensive to produce ?
Well first off, you have to be able to make them. That takes a lot of research. and then yeah, they are very expensive to make.
Can’t just snap my fingers and have them.
@@CharliePryor I just thought if i might be a method to compensate for lack of survivors?
By the time those rifles are possible to produce, you’re not low on people anymore.
I have read a lot of your replies, and you seem like a jackass. I’m sure that’s not the case and most likely you were just irritated by how many people are backseat driving. Regardless of that, you need to work in a couple nice of things for commenting or thanks for watching or anything besides snarky replies. Good luck streaming!
"over" and "out". over is a signal that i am awaiting a reply. out is a signal that im am done communicating. in the military, over and out are never used together.
Here to block spoilers
I never see you use the comms to invite new people,it's a good way for quick population growth. Im up to nearly 800 people, but a lot die cause of full moon and stormy weather when workers decide to not work😂
Every new person that comes in, you have to feed them. Add more people, great, but they come with cost. Until food stability is possible, I bring them in slowly. Scavenging buildings in this difficulty has proven challenging. I’ve needed 4-5 squads consistently, even through the night most times, to just break even on food, and buildings are getting farther away, and not any more plentiful.
We have population to support our own food production soon, and that begins to develop now and into the future to be more self sufficient with it - and food production is a very labor-intensive thing, so when more people do get brought in, most will be put on food related jobs right away.
How the Frick? I'm still 100 and barely keeping them alive 🥲
What i dont understand: Why is it a problem if they occupy a buildung that is technically part of your wall. If the entrance is on the outside they can only leave again on the outside the next day. So they win nothing but a little time.
Not a “problem” just something to consider. They have a very fast way to escape the sun, and a very fast way to continue damaging structures afterwards
@@CharliePryor ok thank you
Why not just put barbed wire in front of the main entrances? 25:26
Or a wall to see if they will break it down to get in or go to another house.
Personally, I would keep the enemies and crazies out of my fortification. I made that mistake years ago with an online gaming clan and the bad guys tore the clan apart.
Gaaaaaaaaaryyyyyyyyy! 😆
weather forecast is a waste of resources and time, prove me wrong!
It takes basically no resources, or personnel, and you now have a forecast that tells you exactly what will happen in the future, and allows you to plan your squad activities accordingly, not to mention know when you can farm and cannot, before the weather changes. It's a wonderful building that grants you future knowledge for next to no cost.
the map rotation is pretty annoying. can you just start viewing the map with the north facing north when zoomed in please? I know it looks weird for you, but for all of us watching its really disorienting
