Is it ok if I pull the brush through without the spindle handle? Lost it.

I have to admit that I've never been a fan of the OTIS CLEANING METHODS OR PROCESSES, OR PROCEDURES. But I was given a complete Otis kit as a gift and didn't want to insult the person who gifted it me so I decided to check out RUclips for the proper procedure. I was already an instructor and training counselor and given the fact that firearms are not cheap or inexpensive l always used the best cleaning products I could find. I've never liked using bore snakes except as a at the range preliminary step after firing a few rounds. I consider the OTIS pull through method just a hyped up bore snake. They are not a comprehensive or thorough method nor should they be a substitute for a complete cleaning. I always set up 3 rods for cleaning, one to push solvent through the bore, one with.the correct bore brush, then a rod with the correct jag. With OTIS you have take off each attachment after each use. Not very effective or efficient in my mind. After all the RUclips videos and instructions I watched my reasons for not being an OTIS fan were thoroughly confirmed.

Otis offers cleaning rods for those who are never going to switch from traditional cleaning methods.
