  • An impromptu video on the Stage 3 cams (Duration 264/256, Valve Lift 0.427"/0.382") for the Ford EcoBoost 2.0/2.3 engine (Focus ST, Focus RS, EcoBoost Mustang, etc.) and how I have tackled the drive-ability tuning. For those who don't know, Upgraded camshafts are REQUIRED To make above 500 WHP in a 2.0 or 2.3L EcoBoost engine. Many people contact me all the time to ask me how my tunes drive with the Stage 3 Cams so here is a short video showing it. When you install these camshafts and don't properly tune for them, the drive-ability is very poor with bucking, stumbling, hesitations, and constant stalling. The Ford EcoBoost ECU uses a very complex control algorithm to calculate cylinder airmass based off of camshaft position since both the intake and exhaust cams have variable timing control. This creates some complexity when installing aftermarket camshafts and keeping the ECU happy. I've spent the time and man hours into developing a calibration that drives flawlessly with these camshafts a couple years ago using COBB Tuning's AccessPort/AccessTuner software and have perfected it over the course of time. This involved hours of road testing, steady state tuning, and hours on the dyno. This is a short video showing how smooth and well the car drives with the BP285 Camshafts and a TunedByNishan calibration.
