I tried 3 things and it worked out. Lost 60 lbs in 4 months.
1. Have regular Indian food (just no rice and low carbs) gravy as soup, side dishes with more protein and fat.
2. 16 hrs to 22 hrs intermittent fasting.
3. Jogging or walking 10000 steps (approx 7 miles)

Very nice doctor. I have a 24 year old autistic son. When he was 9 I stopped cereal and milk for breakfast and started Indian breakfast or curd rice. Within a few weeks we got a call from school that he has improved. His food and his behavior are so much related. Hopefully one day we may get solid answers for autism instead of second guessing every treatment

In 2019, I reduced 25 pounds of my weight with a fasting window of 14 hrs, heavy cut down of rice, white flour and sugar. Did a lot of walking. It took only 3 months to naturally achieve this reduction. By then I did not know what IF means. Later I came to know what I did was that. My doc was surprised on my weight loss. @Dr.Pal, Whatever you and Mr. Bhat shared here is of very high value to the society! Pls. continue your good efforts! You’ll soon see a healthy society around you called Dr.Palians 🙂

Dynamic humorous combo… I have been following the 12 hour window after seeing Dr. Pal humorous video. It’s been a month to two. My weight has not increased. My acidity / heartburn has significantly dropped. My mindset has significantly improved. Keeping fingers crossed to ensure I continue with intermittent fasting for rest of my life.

Excellent chat show and Mr. Bhat was brutally honest about his health issues and humorously conveyed the current eating problems amongst Indians. I feel healthy while I remember to do intermittent fasting but sometimes forget while I’m stressed especially over festive times. I really hate all these gatherings at Pongal and Diwali and Christmas etc as I know I’m going to eat every sweet under the sun and over eat in general. Chats like these remind us of our delicate life and I’m so grateful to have seen this video. Just coming out of Christmas and New year and Birthday celebrations and really need a kick up my back 😳 reminding me to behave. Many thanks to you both legends ! Awesome indeed.
In our olden days ,grandparents used to complete their meal bet 6-6.30.
They had saatvic foods , ekadasi virtams etc.
I find they were more energetic physically and mentally and the quality of their ;Ife was pretty good .

No.. please it is no t recommended for kids since they have high acid secretion because they are growing up... They might get ulcer issues...

In 2021 I reduced up to 26 kg with 14 hours windows fasting, I will doing walking and skpping I can see my weight loss in my 2nd month of this IF it’s really very helpful in 2021 September I have already reached 57 kg I now I am 55.6 still I am practicing my target is 50 hope will achieve it soon

It's true sir I lost around 12kg in 10months. Intermittent fasting... what ever you two discussed here I realize myself sir. First gut free (feel lighter stomach full day), lower back pain reduced (I can work full day with full energy 💪 (professionally lecture)), my weight loss gives more confidence

Hi Dr.Pal, you've been a motivation for me.. truly.. my health was fine till I started having late night food at IIM where lifestyle demand was to stay awake and do project work. Pcos aggravated, weight gain started! Now, after 10 years little changes while I tried, never happened . But now when I go to restaurant evening/ night, I don't feel like eating despite having tastiest food in front of me, your voice resonates no no.. don't eat nu.. my acidity is no more! And my periods came today on time!!! Of course I am taking ayurvedic medicine, however ur motivation is the reason.. thank you 🙏

Interesting, You are the first doctor to say autism is not what you are born with .. yes we don’t know the exact cause of autism because doctors say multiple genes play a role .. I am a mother to an autistic child and my child is normal other than she didn’t develop speech .. she is even way smarter than her peers.. for ex. she can assemble any dismantled things back to shape..
I am a healthy eater I think my issue was vitamin D deficiency.. because I live in norway . Anyway I will have a look at your publications to see your recent research about autism ❤. Please post more about autism 🙏

Excellent interview. Thank you both 🙏🏼. However, every time I try to eat dinner early (before 7:30 pm), I start feeling hungry before I sleep at 10:30 or 11. Any suggestions to cut down the craving for food and sleep without being hungry?
Have more water if you want have a banana and milk
just drink water whenever u feel hungry..it will be difficult for first few days but after that u will get adapted to it

I know some vegetarians who eat one big paanai of rice with 5 tumblers of sambar, kaara kolambu, rasam, appalam, oorgaai and curd and on the other hand i know some non vegetarians who eat muttom and chicken and fish in moderation. So blaming one type of food is not a good way of seeing things. The key here is eating in moderation and timing. Eat in moderation and when you are hungry. அளவுக்கு மிஞ்சினால் அமிர்தமும் நஞ்சு.

Even when doing intermittent fasting, we should not be eating "anything". We have to significantly reduce our carb intake. Take carbs in the form of Vegetables only.

@@Nabhu Very simple. Start with 7 to 7 eating and fast from 7 to 7 at night. This will start informing your gut that there is a deprivation of carbs for 12 hours. Now increase slowly by one hour over next 2 weeks and reach 16 hours of total fasting. I do 4 PM to 6 AM next morning. Next important thing is calorie deficit. You need to eat less than 1500. So need to eat maximum vegetable and minimum rice. Rice is the killer. Try switching to grains like samai, thinai , gudhirai vali, Kambu. These have more metal nutrients and less carbs. This will reduce your weight more than 10 kgs. More important point is consistency. I am 29 so pretty young metabolism helped. But once you start intermittent fasting, you will start becoming young too. :) All the best.

I was recommended intermittent fasting by my doctor to loose weight for my knee issues. 18-6 window. And the results are amazing! 4 months and 26 pounds down! It works if you follow it consistently. Of course no direct sugar and no caffeine

Lovely show Dr. I am working and living in Germany. I follow vegetarian Diet since my birth. But I weigh 104 kg at 184 cm tall. I am following now 12-12 fasting ( only since 1 week) and started avoiding drink my social glass of wine with colleagues. Your shows are truely inspiring. Due to my varying working time I used to have random eating times and used to snack a lot of chips and chocolate.. But now will want to avoid it.
