Old Dolio is one of the purest movie characters ever.

Literally just finished watching this movie. The credits are still rolling. I wish I had seen it in theaters, but I am so, so, so infinitely happy that I saw it before the year's end, because it might just be my favorite film of the year.
I thought nothing could top POSSESSER UNCUT, and I still don't necessarily think this film did, or vice versa, because they're both so different, but entirely unique, and great unto themselves.
This film and Old Dolio had my empathy and my heart from the start, and the amount of surprising, touching, inspiring, heart-breaking, hilarious, and stimulating sensual moments had me so overjoyed.
Miranda July is officially on my radar, and I thank her for giving me the biggest, unabashedly, "wood-giving" crush on Gina Rodriguez. Her directing is somehow both minimal and extravagant, both contemporary and timeless, both documentarian and melodramatic. Her screenplay is also just so perfect. She's able to move from awkward exchanges, to humor, to in your face absurdity, to heartbreak, to disgust, to joy and then sweet tenderness. Bravo to her!
In my opinion, this is by far the best role and performance I've ever seen from Evan Rachel Wood, and it has made me appreciate her acting and career so much more.
Gina Rodriguez is such a starlet, and I can not wait to see her in something huge! I'd love to see her cast in a Marvel film, or something that is tailored to her as much as this role was. She was illuminating and radiant!
    Debra Winger was astounding!
There were moments where Debra Winger was slightly off-center frame, and her reactions and acting were so frank, and deliberate, and show stealing that it made me applaud every single second of her screen time. She was effortlessly Theresa, and she brought the fire! Totally en fuego!
Richard Jenkins is just the biggest delight as always, and he's seriously one of my favorite working character actors, and his performance in this movie spun me for a loop.
There has to be special mention to the casting department who brought all these people together. Incredibly well-done casting.
The set design was like a stripped down and straight forward and subtle version of a Wes Anderson film.
And finally the musical scoring for this film was simply perfect. It captured that awkward spirit of wanting to be noticed, but too shy, reserved and nervous to outright steal the spotlight. It was perfectly scored.
This may inch by POSSESSER UNCUT as my favorite movie of the year, even though that film blew me away and all my expectations.
As of right now KAJILLIONAIRE and POSSESSER UNCUT are both my favorite films of the year, and if by chance you're reading this and haven't watched either movie, and you're a real movie fan, do yourself the pleasure and honor, and watch these two wildly different, brilliant pieces of filmmaking.

I LOVED Kaji and agree with everything you said about it. Felt exactly the same. So...now I will go watch Possessor Uncut. Thanks for the recommendation ;)

As with all of Miranda's films I find myself laughing at parts no one else in the theater understands.

First - Miranda July is an excellent writer, film director, author, and performance artist. Miranda is so deserving of the awards she has achieved. Second - Richard Jenkins was fabulous in the movie: "Six Feet Under" from years back !! Third - All of the actors are very good and quite "spacey" as in spaced out, some more than others. Overall excellent stuff out of them.

How do I send a message to MJ? Will she see it? Is it pointless to try? Is she that ascended, that only a special demographic will interest her? I should know better considering her track record, but fame has a way of changing people, even as organic as MJ was in the 90's.
