  • Miranda July is best known for her Cannes-award winning career as a filmmaker. She began her career in performance and has continued to create across many mediums, including producing apps. In this film July explains how live performance allowed her to ‘engage in the present moment’ and feel the immediacy of the audience ‘right here, right now’.
Her work continues to challenge and engage the viewer by blurring the line between performance and film - most notably in 2011’s The Future which featured some key scenes originally conceived and staged in her performance work and began with the self-imposed question - how do you turn ‘a performance into a movie?’

I kept impressed by the beauty of all the plans/images in this videos. The voice of Miranda is very calm & the movie is quiet... and everything is so arranged ; wow, what an esthetic experience !

No one else can penetrate humans and human releationships as her...working on a kind of a puzzle, every piece an apparently insignificant detail that one after another just bring you so Close to it like watching yourself in a mirror...Great Miranda July

I've been a fan since I first saw "Me and You and Everyone We Know" back in '06. I now own the movie and am glad it's on Netflix. Miranda introduced me to John Hawkes and I continue to follow his career. I'm grateful for the work you do. Because of Miranda July I ask myself "am I someone's favorite person?"

All her work is very original and love her for that, wish more artists were more original instead of ripping off other material

I want her brain...and, her hair...I must combine them with the thought processes of Aubrey Plaza to make the perfect human. Then we will go back in time to audition for Ally Sheedy's role in the Breakfast Club. From there we will rule the World.

I mean... you only "see" it that way because of your experience. Our generation- I doubt she meant it like that. She's just freely telling her story, to be fair. And this comes from what some would consider an ""out there feminist" ha

Terrible...self indulgent. Nonsense. Who cares? Does she really make a living off this shit? That would be truly remarkable and terrible at the same time.
