  • Walt Disney Baked Turkey Legs - Party Time
    I remember going to Walt Disney world for the first time and I kept seeing a lot of people walking around with this large chicken leg, it had to an ostrich leg for it was too big, I really never seen anything like it. At this time I did like to cook and was just getting started in culinary School , so to me that was a strange and weird thing they were eating.
    Well I managed to track it down to these little tiny booths and the lineup was crazy. So in line I went, grabbed one and to my surprise they were really nice, juicy, smoky and tender . Never at that time would I guess it was a turkey for their meat is mostly dry and bland, but it was out of this world.
    I grabbed my leg and walked down the pathway and munched on it like untamed animal for I was enjoying it too much, I 'am now ashamed to say that I had about two a day and every time I return to the park, I would go straight to the booth and grab one.
    I really hope that you will enjoy my recipe here, for I have to say it comes very close to the ones selling in the Disney Theme Park . I have returned to the Park about eight times, boy ! that's a lot of turkey legs.
    Try them "Mickey" would be proud.....:)

    this guy has a salt addiction. for people looking for real tips, a brine on any meat does wonders but please rinse your meat before you prep it.

      +Boomerdutchess What salt addiction do I have, most of the salt is sweated out in the cooking process. When it is baked there is very little salt left in it.

    Hi Tony!!! Cheers from Costa Rica!!! Thank you for the video!! If you have the time to read this and help me with 3 questions I will appreciate it :), 1) When you say 400 degrees for 20 minutes that's F right? 2) Did you put the cooking tray at the bottom in the middle or at the top?... 3) The total cooking time is 1 hour and 20 minutes at 200 F after the first 20 minutes? Thank you I hope I don't bother you!

    • @CookingaRound
      @CookingaRound  10 лет назад +1

      Middle rack and yes the temperature is correct, but you have to watch it because all ovens are different, are the electric, gas and fan drive or not. Also the size of the leg...Hey !!! Thank's for the question,.. Let me know how it turned out,,,,:)

    • @CookingaRound
      @CookingaRound  10 лет назад +1

      Hello Gean, Cheers from wherever I'am today...:) I move around a lot... Yes it's at 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celsius. The tray was at the top. Yes the cooking time is correct, first I want to lock the outer part then slowly cook the inside to get a nice smooth and moist taste. Thank's for the post...:)

  • @gerakai2119

    Dude why are you grabbing all your meat with an oven mitt and a kitchen towel? and why only season with the chicken stock and oil? That makes no sense. This made me cringe.

    • @prestonthrift2734
      @prestonthrift2734 4 года назад

      Most of the "seasoning" comes from the brine. If you haven't tried to brine before I highly recommend.

    Why not just add some wood chips instead of rice?

    • @CookingaRound
      @CookingaRound  9 лет назад

      +Tim Miller You could do that, but it would be too much smoke produced in the kitchen and not everyone has the chips on hand.

    is this a parody making fun of people that do these tutorial videos. he is doing too much unnecessary stuff . too much brining. And then the smoker made out of a refrigerator with a two burner stove are you kidding me.

    What is a veggie chicken stock?

    • @CookingaRound
      @CookingaRound  7 лет назад

      Stock is a flavored liquid preparation. It forms the basis of many dishes, particularly soups and sauces. Making stocks involves simmering animal bones or meat, seafood, or vegetables in water or wine, adding mirepoix or other aromatics for more flavor.
