I knew I'd heard singing like this from someone else before, especially with the low notes, and I finally figured it out; it's Scott Walker. Bowie was a HUGE fan of Walker's.
Is it just me, or does it seem like this song is about Goldie's mother? What a thing that he trusted Bowie to suffuse it vocally with the emotions he felt about his mother.
I believe that it's Goldie - Truth (Zero T Remix) but can't find the track anywhere, despite being played on radio 6 on Gilles Peterson's show maybe it'll be released one day
@@mbrah1181 The track was released after I posted this but I've checked and the track is a rip from one of zero t's mixes not a full release but thanks though couldn't find a rip anywhere

Wow. Been a huge fan of bowie and goldie for years. Never knew they had a song together. And yes I've heard it before. Dang.

April Simnel maybe those descents and the light phrasing’s. Scott got more atonal as time went
It is, but in his "Scott Walker" voice, which I hadn't realized before I wrote that comment. I should have written it more clearly.
@DurexDurpaneu2 Sadly, they never did.

Think it was to his own soul and his relationship with life.
Try Natalie Duncan’s live version of this. It’s utterly sublime.

All you've told us it that you've never met anyone who was on either of those.
@@murrfeeling He's at least partly right though. Goldie mentioned that he found the lyrics scrawled down on paper after a blackout.
