An awesome reversion. I liked this song since it’s first appear in the How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb and when performed at their U205 Vertigo Iive from Chicago, and all the Co€xISt vibe was outstanding. Absolutely love this song, both album version and this Unreleased & Rare one. thanks much.

Big coldplay vibe here. Really wish they would re-record this one. Never captured the magic for the song. Live version is best.

Well it's more the other way around. Coldplay's biggest influence is u2. So many coldplay songs have u2 vibes. Especially the guitar.

@@Josh77600 Coldplay is accused of this alot, which, to a point, is true. I can hear similarities in the style, but I've never heard a coldplay song where I thought outright, wow, they ripped off U2. But in this situation, I definitely can say the reverse. So glad they didn't use this version for Atomic Bomb.

@@mattmartinek84 I didn't mean to accuse them or to say that they ripped things off. Coldplay wrote many great songs. But they are known to be heavily influenced by U2. That's not a bad thing. I like it very much. I heard a lot of songs where i thought about U2. But that's me. Apart from that Coldplay really found their own voice.
I don't know about this song. U2 released it in 2004. Coldplay only released two albums at that point. And U2 really went back to their old sound with Atomic Bomb and All That You Can't Leave Behind. I don't think they consciously wrote the song with Coldplay in their mind. The only U2 song that i know that is Coldplay inspired is Ordinary Love. Chris Martin even helped them with the song in the studio.

This early version of "Yahweh" was recorded in the "Chris Thomas sessions" back in late 2003. The only albums Coldplay had back then were Parachutes and Rush Of Blood. "Yahweh" is way more reminiscent of U2's own 1981 October than to anything Coldplay had released to date.

It’s important to note vibe implies the feeling a song channels which can be anyone no matter how old. He’s not saying U2 was influenced by Coldplay lol
