I used to walk through the NS room to get to the jazz funk all day’r and still remember the energy of the dancers and the music. From what I’ve seen the final woman and the female with short red hair are the only ones ( in my opinion) who danced WITH the music and appeared to have their moves inspired by the music - not just doing backflips cause they are athletic.
For Christ's Sake ....turn the Fuckin lights down ! .....Oh , Sorry , its made no odds , it was Still pedestrian...... Take my advice ....If you want to follow this scene ....and embrace its benefits....of which there are many ....Go to your local WMC or Legion ...do's all over abound ,,75- 200 people tops ...no Egos...just real lovers of the music.... I fear Those who I looked up at years back DJ - Wise ...have slowly become businessmen and lost the Real Reason why ..... Who'd a Thunk It?... Its more Popular than ever ..... And Therefore ( here at least) lost its appeal....& Its happened countless times .. And I speak some ( Ahem;) 6 decades old , grew up with it ..I Knew of Nothing Else Really.. And still get Goosebumps if I hear something new .... 200Kid

They should have asked some of Wigans past winners to judge like Winston Omeally... Only person to win it twice, and his brother Simeon (RIP) also won, so did Vernon Price, Sandy Holt.

It's supposed to be northern soul but unfortunately it's nothing like it was in its day, the girl should be on strictly not in a final of a Northern Soul dancing comp, better female N/S dancers out at your local events. Unfortunately it's now a farce and should done away with.
Who was the MC? His constant incessant drivel, talking nearly ruined this for me. He needs a crash course in organizing a competitoon and just getting on with things
PMSL, a professional photographer cannot even get the video quality of Ralph Malph's Huawei P50 camera phone, the best man won great dancing, but still a piss poor show, Real shame Connor from Congleton didn't enter.
It's was all embarrassing frankly but if they enjoyed it I guess that's all that counts....some were clearly taking it all way too seriously ( The Winner ) and wasn't even all that. Hey ho....is what it is.
There’s an old man in the front dressed in a black jacket and blue jeans. He’s not dancing Northern Soul he’s just dancing from one leg to the other as they do normally these days. Perhaps he’s just lonely and wants to dance to this type of music. I’ve said this before I think northern soul dancers look lonely, they dance in their own little world not interacting with others. They could be alone in a room doing this on their own. I do like to watch them though.
Just totally embarrassing Derby and Joan club. Everything we ran away from when we first went to all-nighters. Parody and very sad to see. Kev is a total bootlegger when it comes to dancing. Doesn't even dance himself.
