As someone new to this hobby, I appreciate these type of videos. My interest on youtube was starting to drift after the seeing the same 5 summer fragrances mentioned for the 89th time on other sites. I would love to see this expaneded to maybe top 5 examples under each note (not sure that is even possible but sounds interesting).
I’ve been watching your videos for 2 weeks now and this is the type of video that made me subscribe…aside from your great work reviewing perfumes, you taking the time to inform your audience is a win for me. You’ve gained a loyal viewer. Great work Omar!
These videos that “require more brain power” are part of what sets you apart from other channels and why I enjoy following your content. Keep doing your thing, Omar!
*Great Video & much appreciated* , I gravitate towards fragrances with prominent Tonka bean notes, Le Male le Parfum, Gris Charnel Extrait, Guerlain L'Homme ideal EDP etc. I love that note so much
Hi Omar.. I love this video.. Very educational and informative.. Can we have a part 3 to explain other fragrance notes ? Some ideas would be oud, amber, myrrh.. Or any other educational videos about parfume ?
Oh..I love these series. I got deep into perfumery. I also have Coumarin diluted in 10%, I am going to create also a 1% dilution, because the previous one is very hard to work, it is very strong. One of my favorite raw materials in perfumery. Absolutely agree regarding the smell description. I will try to see how it changes in lower concentrations. Regarding Cedarwood, I haven't it. But yeah you can used different Eos from naturals or single aroma-chemicals that are widely used like Vertofix, Cedrol, or alfa- beta-Cedrene and many others. Vertofix smells like fresh pencil shavings as you said acuallly, very fresh woody smell. You can use Cedar pretty everywhere. It smells really nice in combination with Ambroxan. And the perfect example of this is Burberry Hero EDT, for example. Javanol is quite expensive, I own Bacdanol, it is also very nice, definitely owns warm milky qualities of sandalwood.
absolutely perfect playlist of videos thank you!! I’m a newbie and I go from store to store with fragrantica in my hand. I look up colognes I have and see what the internet says about notes cuz I have no idea lol. Pacsun Hidden Hills is amazing to me. It has oak moss so I guess I’ll go for that Also, YSL Y EDT is my favorite so idk where to go from that
Could you please do a video on Curis, by Carner Barcelona? It’s my favorite fragrance but there’s very little about it online, I think many people would like it. Oud, leather, amber, and a very “high class refined fragrance” in my opinion.
My collection is slightly based on notes. I like having frags with different notes so I can keep my nose up to date with how certain notes smell. Love this series as I actually bought some scents based on the last video. Might go shopping again to update the collection again after this vid. Thanks Omar 👍
Nishane is to me more like ally amyl glycolate for the pineapple effect and very robust clearwood for the patchouli. Thick frutie and dark woody. I like this video.Very interesting. You can really learn from this❤️✌️
I'm looking for a very long lasting perfume, that has a lemon smell to it, like the channel perfume the white bottle. And also a perfume that smells like creed but lasts longer. Thanks
Thank you for such a good informative video, I would love to see more coming. I have a question, does individual note change drastically when mixed with other notes to make a perfume? I remember in the early 2000s when I first smell Gucci Rush for men (now discontinued) , it just set my heart throbbing. I am not sure if it was the incense or the creamy sandalwood which got me such reaction... until these days, no other perfume has got me the same reaction ever again. But I do love the Bulgari Blv pour homme which has a creamy sandalwood scent too.
I am interested!! Yes! Part 3! Please! Ok, sorry, got carried away. But really, how many of us can get their hands on cedar wood or patchouli? Or iris extract? Besides, you describe them perfectly! I can vizualise what you are saying. And pleeeease, if you can get your hands on an Eisenberg Secret iii Patchouli Noble, can you tell us what you think of it? Thank you so much for your work. 🤩
Hi Omar, I've been getting into fragrances and binged a lot of your videos lately. I want to buy a "signature" scent for school (17 yo) or other casual occasions. In another video, you recommended Versace pour homme. Would you still recommend it or are there better alternatives?
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thinks Santal 33 smells like pencil shavings and brine - I always thought the sawdust scent was cedar wood but wasn’t sure!
Omar can't wait to have your fragrance in my collection. I do love pdm, armani, gucci, polo, tom ford. Which one of your fragrance will be close to any of these I like
Luna Rossa Black is one of the worst smells that ever reached my nose. I can't understand the hype about it, it's purely disgusting. Thanks for the informational video!
I appreciate this type of video, because i sure as hell be wondering what im smelling sometimes! Like Sauvage parfum! I can smell the pepper, but what is that metallic like presence?! That shit is good!
Thank you for this video. Articulating smells isn't easy.

Absolutely spot on! I'm betting MANY would say exactly the same!
1:22 - Coumarin(Tonka Bean) - Warm, Hay like sweetness
3:25 - Cedarwood - Dry Pencil Shavings
4:54 - Sandalwood - Thick, Woody, Fresh and Creamy
6:45 - Castorium - Musky, Animalic, Leathery
8:29 - Oakmoss - Ethereal, magical, sparkly, woody

1:33 that's Jeremy Fragrance's favourite, if you know what I mean lol
really liking these. I am just dipping my feet in making my own and finally decided to school myself. Great stuff
The most informative and unique perfume reviewer on you tube. I really enjoy watching your videos. Great work Omar 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

3:42 is Burberry hero's notes and I am wearing it right now!
*Great Video & much appreciated* , I gravitate towards fragrances with prominent Tonka bean notes, Le Male le Parfum, Gris Charnel Extrait, Guerlain L'Homme ideal EDP etc. I love that note so much

Thank you for the lesson Mr. Omar 🤓🤓
See you on the next lesson 💯💯🔥🔥
Oakmoss: Polo, first two formulations.... or today, Mousse Illuminee by Rogue Perfumery. 👍❤️

Really helpful videos!
I very mich want to try Antaeus now! Thanks!
Thank you for this! Needed this
Excellent video as usual, oakmoss regulations are one of the greatest crimes against perfumes done to date along with fig leaf and tea regulations
Great video!

Thank you!
Love this educational content!
This video explains the name of this channel perfectly: School of Scents !
Great video series 😊
More videos like this, please.
I love learning about. Fragrances thanks
Seeing as summer is almost over I think we need some autumn/wintery fragrances
I'm looking for a very long lasting perfume, that has a lemon smell to it, like the channel perfume the white bottle. And also a perfume that smells like creed but lasts longer. Thanks
Which Creed? Your first question, go for Mancera Aoud Lemon Mint for a very long lasting Lemon fragrance
HENRY CREED
Aventus Eau de Parfum@@SchoolOfScent
Loved the video
It's a crime against perfumery what IFRA did regarding oakmoss. What's next? FDA banning peanuts because some people are allergic to it?
You're absolutely right! And, the FDA has already done far worse than that.
useful. Well done
Thank you for such a good informative video, I would love to see more coming.

What would the main note of Eau Sauvage Parfum be?
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who thinks Santal 33 smells like pencil shavings and brine - I always thought the sawdust scent was cedar wood but wasn’t sure!
I’ve been looking at buying essential oils just to see how different notes smell.
I bought patchouli oil to get the individual scent. I was surprised by how much the top end smells like actual mould.
Allure extreme has the best Tonka note. Second is 1 million prive cuz it’s Alil more hidden but can still def smell it
I feel like Layton exclusif is a really good start for getting into animalic fragrances
Love youuu❤❤
I need this..
Omar can't wait to have your fragrance in my collection. I do love pdm, armani, gucci, polo, tom ford. Which one of your fragrance will be close to any of these I like
Thank you friend! And Atrium is its own brand, I say buy them all 😂
@SchoolofScent Yes sir why not 🤣
hey could you review all the fragrances from stepahne humbert lucas
How does it smell Mystical note that we found in Blanche bete for instance? Thanks
Waiting for a part 3
Buy sheykh al shuyukh luxe edition from lattafa and maahir black make a video about arabic perfumes
Can you explain what people mean by "musky"? So many people use that word and I have no clue what they mean.
I checked like 7 of my perfumes. Like 6 of them had coumarin.
Would you say that coumarin in it's natural form is coarse, rough and irritating and it gets everywhere?
❤amazing❤
Thanks for the video! Could you please do one about boozy notes, like bourbon? dk if it's weird but I only ever drink wine😂
You Sir..have good taste..
Thank you for opening the gatekept gate Omar
This video was a “Chiefs Kiss 😚 “ well done !!!
Can you review the Thomas kosmala no.10
Does le male elixer has that tonka smell?
Great
You’re doing this much better then Jeremy …👏👍
Where is the part 1?
I love oakmoss in my perfume and I'm a woman. 😊
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Luna Rossa Black is one of the worst smells that ever reached my nose. I can't understand the hype about it, it's purely disgusting.
Thanks for the informational video!
Omar bout to get high after the video😂
Was feeling energetic
Hacivat is better than Aventus imo. ❤
If Jeremy Fragrance gave you that white powder whatever you do don't sniff it
👍👍
With all the allergens mentioned it's no wonder why people have asthma attacks or anaphylax around fragrances lol. Sheesh
Oakmoss ruins Hacivat IMO
Oak moss IS Hacivat 😂
I like the smell of dried pencil ✏ shavings.
Do you have anything personal with India ?
Your fragrance can't be bought by Indians 😭
Bro brought cocaine
1:35 Coumarin looks just like funny salt that my grandpa used to rub into his gums every Sunday. Fragrances really do bring memories!
I appreciate this type of video, because i sure as hell be wondering what im smelling sometimes! Like Sauvage parfum! I can smell the pepper, but what is that metallic like presence?! That shit is good!
Appreciate this for sure 🫡
