No disrespect to the other amazing musicians you've had on this channel, but if every video you put out was just these two guys playing rock/metal songs, I would watch every single damn one. Incredible
@@JohnnyHendrix-h3c they didnt butcher anything lmao, they played an interpretation that's outside the pop punk/rock style traditionally. I think they did really well and you can tell they're trained studio musicians with how they break down the song on first listen
Agreed, if you've ever played with gospel musicians, their style is so tight. I've o ly personally played with gospel drummers, but watching g these videos it's no surprise they bassists are so talented. I'm sure the whole band is. Love these videos as well.
Out of all the crumble artists, IMO these 2 are the best. Super peofesional, talented as hell. They could easily be studio musicians on alot of these songs. Their Paramore cover was killer too.
I would watch 1 million episodes with these guys. Sheer genius and absolutely love their camaraderie and their musicianship and memories are top-notch. Amazing I love this series so much
Please schedule these guys for another session. Absolutely amazing work once again. Love seeing extremely talented musicians step out of their comfort zone and the genres they're comfortable with, to show off their talent.
Hell yeah! First take, wow, this is even better than the original. that half time seems super cool and the fills on drums insane. Some bass notes he chose made the harmonisation sounds more interesting! Nice one! There drum & bass due videos are amazing, these guys are super talanted! 😎
UGH! Eli and Josh are just SO FREAKING GOOD! They absolutely smashed that first take and really made it their own. And as a bassist, I really look up to how Eli does his fills and flair. Just downright tasty.
Nah, thats exactly what i was looking for LOL These two just have a creative energy that works so well together. Every video with them is an instant classic! Killed it fellas!
Dynamic and energy sure. The defference of going to 2+4 and switch to quarter snares for high intensity at the end are why they aren't in rock and metal currently. But that also the point, it's for them to have fun, not just play what's there.
I LOVE this more coarse style of session where you allow the musicians to feel what they feel and then do another take after. So many of the people invited onto Drumeo just do that one take then the video is over. Hearing the redemption versions is well worth the extra time.
Awesome. Everyone watching these videos are expanding their minds and integrating new ways of listening and feeling the music. This is how magic is made. Amazing musicianship. #JoshFoster #EliMboho
Those 2 guys are hilarious and amazing musicians. If I see them in the thumbnail I instantly click. They should have their own Josh & Eli Take On or first time hearing/playing (name band here) series on Drumble. That would catch fire.
The moment I've seen Eli and Josh on the thumbnail I've felt joy already. The video is great as usual, the guys are phenomenal. The first take is great there was no need for the second, however it's killer too. It's just amazing to see how quickly they get a grip on the song. I hope Dave sees this video and invites the guys for a song.
That first take was pretty damn rad. I think this style of music is way more in their wheelhouse than they realize. Dude beating that snare like it owed him lunch money second take.
Wow. Where do I start?! The fact that they can listen to a song once, or even twice, and dish out a cover like this is insane. I could watch these two play for hours!! That bass slide at 13:46 was coldddd - and Josh is so inspiring to me as a fairly new drummer. Just amazing!
Another fun video guys. Exceptional talent, great editing, and lots of joy. As you continue to develop this series I’d encourage you to share a little bit more about the band/music they are playing. Acknowledging the bassist (Nate Mendel) and drummer (Taylor Hawkins - died in 2022) they are interpreting is a nice way to recognize the original talent. Again, keep up the great work.
I love how they built the dynamics on the first. The original is kind of non-stop energy, but the way they had it constantly building made the energy really hit to the point of insanity at the end! I'm sure Dave Grohl would've absolutely loved it!
That bassist is the prime example of why a bassist and a guitarist are NOT one in the same. My gosh, what an interpretation!!
This is so true lol. It’s crazy when you hear a good bassist versus somebody just playing notes
the low B is RIPPIN
@@xxShinobi09 he's spectacular 🔥🔥🔥

really ? they kinda butchered the song severely dude
this is what I was gonna say too. These boys can play man
@@JohnnyHendrix-h3c they didnt butcher anything lmao, they played an interpretation that's outside the pop punk/rock style traditionally. I think they did really well and you can tell they're trained studio musicians with how they break down the song on first listen
@@JohnnyHendrix-h3c what are you watching 🤣
The first take was pure insanity. Amazing amazing.
Its so good! That buildup was absolutely perfect. What a drummer, and the bassist was also killing it.
The first take is always the best overall, when they can go purely on instinct ( and experience ) and don't know what they "should" be playing.
Yep, first take 💯
No redemption take needed. That first take slayed.
@@Omegasphere it's not a redemption take. We get two for 1!!! Two epic versions
@JohnOwens0 exactly!
*slew
That first take was absolutely insane. Proof that gospel artists make the best rock musicians.
I have heard this song a million times, and that first take was so fresh that it's probably the best version I've ever heard.
This duo rocks, love to see more of them in the future! Also having these gospel musicians play these metal / rock songs is so much fun!
@@cabowabo75able fully agree. Could watch these guys allllll day. Incredible duo.

Q : Let's just play it...what's the worst that can happen?
A : Apparently play it better than the original.
Exactly 😂

Amen
Josh absolutely crushed that, and loved that Eli pushed him to take a shot after 1 listen.
All the reaction channels better hit this one up and make it viral asap!!! What a freaking masterclass
NEVER STOP HAVING THESE TWO ON!
Reminds me so much of the gospel dudes I play with. Riff incredibly, musically and comedically! 😂😂
Hell yeah! First take, wow, this is even better than the original. that half time seems super cool and the fills on drums insane.

These guys are absolutely amazing, more from them!! Bass player got some bass-playing fingers on him, holy moly.
These guys have put in the work. Total pro levels of listening and playing.
Been looking at drum covers of this song for years and NOTHING comes close to how good this was. Insane performance!!!
The Foos let little kids and other fans perform with them on stage, so these guys would definitely be welcome up there. They rock \m/
This is the best! As a drummer of many years I have to say the first time round was better than the original. Amazing musicians, amazing series❤
UGH! Eli and Josh are just SO FREAKING GOOD! They absolutely smashed that first take and really made it their own. And as a bassist, I really look up to how Eli does his fills and flair. Just downright tasty.
that first take was insanely creative. the redemption was a technical masterclass.
First take was super cool. Very different from the original but it was fantastic
Nah, thats exactly what i was looking for LOL These two just have a creative energy that works so well together. Every video with them is an instant classic! Killed it fellas!
These dudes are unreal. I can’t get enough of these “hear for the first time” videos
This is the exact type of drummer and bass player dynamic that any rock/metal band would be lucky to have. Y'all killed it.

Man that D at 9:07 was just a privilege to hear in this melody. Awesome!
It gives us a taste of an alternate feeling of the same phrase.
You can hear the gospel and r&b influence in their interpretation of the song. They put so much SOUL into it
so fun watching these two just groove
That bassist is 🔥 I think i like the first take better. The ending of that take was awesome! Drummer killed the sheds
The best Drumble duo 🤙
Always fun watching these musicians who really know what they are doing. So much to learn from. Thanks
Oh, these guys again! Pumped to hear what they come up with.
P.S. "I wanna feel what he's feeling" had me laughing so hard
I literally moved up on the edge of my seat halfway through this video. This was so awesome!
These two kill every track they touch. Great job guys!
I love this so much! These guys jam! Looking forward TO ANYTHING MORE FROM THESE TWO!
