I love the striding animation. So awesome. A lot of work must have gone into that. The only thing I really want from a Spidertron mod is to increase the walk speed. They are a bit too slow
S Black I guess you'll want this mod, then. :) 30x10... let's see... if you put 15 exos across the top, 5 PFRs and 10 batteries on the next row (which might be overkill?), you'll still have room for 15 slots of PLD and/or energy shields. And with that many hit points, maybe you don't need many of the latter? And of course you can always trade a pair or two of exos for some extra shields, if desired. Hmmm, what's max speed? Might be able to outrun trains with nuclear fuel.
I belive you only have ammo in one out of four rocket launchers in the two big spidertrons, so the actual shooting speed should be four times faster when all launchers are charged 🙂
You might wamt to re-spotlight Bluebuild. It’s a huge impact on QoL. When it comes to visual mods, two you might want to re-spotlight are Nixie Tubes and Letter Plates. Not for my sake, but for the benefit of new players.
- About the moving: mk3 should be a bit faster compared to mk2 or normal one, just make them all move in a line and will be very notice-able. - mk3 should also be able to pass over 3 extra tiles compare to mk2 which from what i remember only passes over 1 extra tile compared to original. - Try the mod with krastorio2, you will be surprised. - switching the original settings will also revert the speed, leg_striding_distance. Wait for the next version, mk3 will get health regen.

@Xterminator have you ever looked at Compakt Circuits ??? It allows putting complex circuits into tight spaces. Also you can reuse the model elsewhere rather that rebuilding it from scratch again
Now somebody just needs to make a mod with spider-beacons and spider-ports. (Automated patrols and automatic refilling accordingly in regards to special structures put on the map. And maybe stuff that allows for triggering with circuit networks.)
I also have serious arachnophobia, but these spiders seem okay, probably because I know they are friendly, if they were enemies or there were spider units, that would be terrifying
Why didn't you test the max speed with the biggest one? I would have wanted to see how fast it is if you fill it up with those robot legs and fusion reactors.
Hey exterminator now that everything has been updated will anyones saves be deleted from the older version of the game? Especially my old tutorial saves. I was making a special project out of the old tutorial trying to make the limited factory they give you as efficient as possible.
Now we just need Facommander - a new game RTS based on the Factorio engine! Building bases Factorio-style and waging galactic war against the biter hoardes!
@@Xterminator I will say that the factorio devs probably deserve at least half the credit for this one, they made a really good quality, easy yet powerful modding system.
The spiders seem cool, but the research costs don't make much sense to me. Why is the Mk.2 unlocked at the same cost as the Mk.1? This way you'll basically skip straight to Mk.2 I think it would have been better for the Mk.2 to have a much higher research cost to give the player some time with the Mk.1 before upgrading.
Why tho. The basic Spidertron already breaks the game pretty much. Startet playing 2 weeks ago, first time ever, death world max biter bases and basecount. 1 Basic spidertron with 2 fusion reactors + 1 exo + 2 batteries and rest shields and your armour with 3 fusion reactors + 2 batteries + 1 robo hanger and rest self defense lasers melts everything. At this point any and all ammo is pointless (besides arti i guess). Im only at laser dmg T8 as well so even behemoth biters will die in a spit second with 1 or 2 more lvl in there. No matter how many biters and there are, unless you afk in them nothing will kill you while you wipe everything even without rockets. Gave up on crafting those cause its pointless.

Well, I don't know about making tiny ones, but you can control a horde with mods.factorio.com/mod/Spider_Control :)

Have you tried putting exoskeleton equipment into them yet? Because they do accept it.

Yeah, it certainly helps but if you put in enough to make them really fast you don't have much room for anything else

What if you use the grid to maximize it's shield? Could you have it walk through a solid wall of biter bases nuking them as it goes?
