Hi, I'm a retired (nearly 11 years) first grade teacher but love to catch up on new ideas and see classroom setups. Your video was amazing in all the tips you shared. I follow Mrs. Call's Campers and that's where I learned of Secret Stories. I wish they had been available (or I'd known of them) when I was teaching! They would have helped. We used Saxon Phonics, but it wasn't FUN like these stories are. I love that you find ways to have the kindergarten kids get free play time. It seems academics only is creeping LOWER and lower. Soon they'll have two year olds in public school and teach them multiplication! Lol BTW, your room is gorgeous.
Why do you have a chair right next to where you sit at the kidney table ? Also how do you handle hallway misbehavior like running ? What consequences do you give ? Like do you hold their hand or do they hold your ? Please answer just curious

Kidney tables can also be used for like 1 on 1 or small group instructions.
