This has really inspired me. I think I’m going to call around and see what cat shelters have openings for volunteer work. I live in the Denver area and it can be a little hard to find openings sometimes in any area of volunteer work (which is great for all the facilities) 🥰
I’m a volunteer at our local shelter too but I’m also a foster . I do the neonates. If more people did it it would help so much. I built a 3500 square foot indoor/outdoor sanctuary at my home for 10 neutered males that still spray. But I have 19 cats in all ❤️🥰😻😬🤪
Awww...I love cats! The shelter cats are so sad. They all need a home! Please give them a home. I love this vlog! I would love to adopt them but I already adopted two cats already. Thank you for sharing your morning with us!
i’m starting volunteering on wednesday. i’m exited to help out with the cats, but i didn’t know what to expect so thank you for this video❤ I’m scared looks like there’s a lot of keys. How do you know which one opens which? Like is it confusing
Awww you have such a pure soul. This is so so great of you to make a routine of doing. Makes me so sad that cats are living in shelters, but I’m sure you are like a bright light in their day. I’d take them all home if I could. Lol nd you’re so cute; “do you want to come to my house?!” Lol love it!!!!!
My kitten has literally watched this whole video up til now lol, cats are the best 🐈 I always adopt and keep them until I can find a good home then I help rescue another one. My kitten, we decided to keep was a baby of the mama kitty I rescued last year. Mama and 2 of her babies went to live on a big farm but get to stay inside. I would love to go do some work at a place like this.
I volunteer at 2 different shelters and neither of them let us have more than 1 cat out at a time 😢 My vet also gave me paperwork at our last visit that indicated grain free diets are linked to heart disease/cardiac issues. They advised against grain free unless they require it due to allergies or dietary needs.
Omgosh ! That's why I'm so grateful this shelter allows us to let them all out and run free its really great for the cats! Good to know about the grain free!
I volunteer at a shelter with cats, dogs and critters like Guinea pigs and rabbits. The cats are always desperate for attention since they don’t go out on walks like the dogs do. It makes me a little sad..
Looks pretty simple, I keep getting anxious because I have my first ever shift coming on Monday where I meet the main person and they teach me what to do. My family has been pushing me to do something even if it’s not paying. And I finally reached the age to be able to volunteer. I don’t know why I am so anxious, I think it’s just the worry that I may mess up or be late. Plus, it will be a big change from me being lazy all day so that makes me a bit anxious. I’m 17 btw, the people I signed up with has a minimum of 16 for certain places but they are insanely far from me. The closest is a shop by my grandmas and their minimum was 17 The main reason I signed up to volunteer was because I was at the store and one of the rescue kitties, George, who was originally ignoring everything and everyone. Looked at me, got up and walked over to where I was, he then started meowing at me, rolled onto his back, and pressed his paw on the glass while staring at me. I was like “okay okay, I guess it’s time to finally sign up” he would have gone home with me that day if I hadn’t already had two cats and three dogs
Don't be anxious! It's super fun. Just leave early. It's okay if you mess up because you're new to volunteering. You will become more comfortable. It will make you happy to go in and help take care of the kitties :)
@@KimNuzzolo I actually just got done with my first shift today! It was really fun to be able to take care and play with the kitties. My anxiety wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be because the lady training me was real nice and understanding. I go back in on Thursday and Friday. I did get scratched by one of the kittens while trying to socialize them though. I was supposed to take him out to play and he said no to that. We had to move the cat tree over so they could jump down on their own if they wanted to come out and play. We are trying to socialize them as much as possible before they are adopted, they are both feral kittens. I got to meet George as well, he is like the best cat, real playful and energetic but also careful with his nails, at first I thought he was declawed because I had never had a cat put their paws on me before without me feeling their claws. He isn’t declawed by the way, just a really really good boy
My cat eats bugs and leaves the half eaten bodies for me to find. She’s my hero
Lol!!!
