I hope I'm not too late with this. 1. I have the Pentax SV with a green R (No.768802) and it has the 1.8 55mm lens. Should I not use this lens with my camera? 2. At different times the shutter mirror does not go down thus leaving the viewfinder black and when I open the camera up the film count does not automatically reset. Is it my user error or should I take it to be fixed?
Definitely not too late. 1- That lens will work perectly with your camera and probably came with it. 2- That's an indication of tired springs. There is a way to adjust it but it requires some disassembly so that's a repair best left to someone who has fixed these before.
@@DavidHancock My shutter won't fire for some reason. It only fires after I push the mirror up manually. I am wondering if you have ever had this issue?
Totally wrong about the FP setting!! FP is for use with a bulb. Yes, you can use faster shutter speeds compared with an electronic flash, but this is not universally true with all focal plane shutters.

@@DavidHancock Thank you for the feedback. Huge thanks
It was actually Ringo who was the photographer in the group. Put out a book of photos, if I remember correctly.
why won't my lever advance? :(
You shutter needs to fire first. Just to rule out the easy stuff, have you triggered the shutter?
