For this video, I encoded at half-framerate. Since RUclips would cut down on the framerate anyway, I figured it would be easier this way. If something is wrong with the quality of this video, compared to my any% runs, please let me know.
Wow, I was not expecting a time quite this low! I knew I could easily get sub-1:40, I didn't know how easily! Even so, I think I can still drop this time by at least another minute or two.

I actually don't do it in my faster runs, because it's still pretty easy to 3-cycle Ninja Kong without it, and unfortunately it's slower :(
Probably. I had the game on the Cube, and no bongos, the joystick would love to fuck up and not have me punch as fast as I was actually tilting it to the sides constantly, so for me performing the counters was faster in dealing with the Kongs.
I do the regular uppercut. You can do it earlier, and the animation is shorter. the 50 extra damage isn't worth it when i can easily still kill it in 3 cycles.
Also, there's a reason your controller won't punch as fast. Controller can only mash once every 4 frames, compared to the bongos being able to mash once every 2 frames.
I never had issues doing it with gamecube controller honestly it was much easier with a controller.

Thanks, man! I'm actually still playing this game, continually trying to get this time down as low as I possibly can. At the moment, I estimate that a near-perfect run would be around 1:32:50, although that estimate seems to keep changing every time I get a new record :P

The only thing I dislike about Jungle Beat is the lack of Kong bosses. I think we could have more in the game.

Yeah, I was pretty surprised at the difference (or relative lack thereof) between any% and 100%. I think with a better run, if I cut down on some (or all) of the stupid mistakes, I think I might be able to get sub-1:35.
1:01:25 That was DEFINITELY a Shoryuken. And if you go through the whole process of dodging Ninja Kong's attacks, you do a Tatsumaki Gorasen.

@@piepusher11 come to think of it, since Karate Kong knows the Tatsumaki Zankukyaku, he might have taught DK a few moves after being defeated. The Ninja Kong fight IS 6 kingdoms later, he had time.

Gosh, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat has music that can make you smile for at least an hour and 36 minutes! Amazing run and amazing video! I'll admit, it was interesting seeing you skip everything for the bare minimum bananas required to get a good speed. Congratulations!

I was playing this game at first when it was released in Japan, but I can't do it well. The player is a great skill.
Oh, I know! I love the music in this game! I never tire of playing this game, even after doing SO many runs. The music is great, the control is, surprisingly, really good, and the level design is really good, too.
There was actually a surprising amount of room for improvement in this run. I recently got a 1:33:21. Hopefully that will be uploaded soon, I'll get it uploaded as soon as my laptop gets fixed...

It's hard to say exactly. There's certainly some spots that can be improved, some that I just got unlucky on, and quite a bunch of little optimizations that can be made. I can't know for sure, but my guess is that with a really good run, I could get down to a sub-1:35.

Um...I hit them...? I'm not sure what you're asking. You mean, how do the controls work for this game?
Basically, mashing right makes you go right, mashing left makes you go left. Hitting both at the same time is how you jump. Any time you see the red and green rings, that's from clapping (I hit the side of the bongos to activate the clap sensor)

When you really think about it what if this donkey Kong jungle beat was actually a prequel to the original donkey Kong arcade games then that means this donkey Kong in jungle beat was the OG donkey Kong who's actually cranky Kong in his prime beating any powerful animal in proving himself that he's the strongest King of the entire biosphere 🤔 no wonder the Kongs were somewhat famous and had it all

The game can work with a GameCube controller, yes, but I would NOT recommend it. It controls absolutely terribly. The game really was designed with the bongo controller in mind.
Basically, what I'm saying is, GameCube controller plays horribly. Don't use it unless you absolutely have to. Not only does it control worse, but it actually IS worse. For example, the bonus game. When you TAS it with a controller, the most you can get is 58 (i think), but I can get in the 70s if I really try.

I'm sorry I have to say this to you, it's nothing against you. But I really get sick of answering that, I really should make an FAQ, or something.
Yes, I use the bongos. If you've never played Jungle Beat before, you have no idea how TERRIBLE using a controller is. It has the most awkward control setup for a platformer ever. Plus, the game actually treats it differently, so it's literally not possible to mash as fast. A TAS mashing with the controller is even slower than me on the bongos.

Nice, beating the bosses was hard but you got the job done, with the fastest beat down though, haha

Bronze Defeat the boss and have 100-400 beats 100-400 beats
Silver Defeat the boss and have 400-799 beats 400-799 beats
Gold Defeat the boss and have at least 800 beats or more. 800-1,199 beats
Platinum Defeat the boss and have at least 1200 beats or more. 1,200-4,999 beats
Diamond Get 5,000 beats or more and defeat the boss. 5000 beats or more
Close, but not quite. You always get a bronze no matter what, even under 100. And there is no diamond. Even the world record on the highest-scoring kingdom doesn't even get 5000 beats. Where'd you get that from?
@@piepusher11 The player in DK: Jungle Beat does not get a bronze crest under 200 in Wii version. Diamond exists. Someone will show you how he beat every Kingdom with no crest in NGC version, and how he beat every Kingdom in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat with 5000.
@@jf1lms72 I'm not talking about the Wii version, that's a completely different game. There's only 3 crests per kingdom in that game, and you get them at cutoffs of 200, 500, and 1000. In GC, you always get bronze, I've done it before with less than 100. If you start the boss fight with less than 20, they give you up to 20 beats for the fight. And when you beat them, you still get a bronze crest.
I'd love to see a video of someone getting 5000 in any kingdom, show me a link.

@@jf1lms72 I think you're confusing the GC version and the Wii version. I just tested this, I started a new file, had 1 beat going into Dread Kong, it put me up to 20 beats for the fight, and afterwards, gave me the bronze crest, when I finished at 20 beats. It's possible to get 0 crests on the Wii version, but not in the GC version.
