Wow guys, thanks for showing my favorite shop in London! We've been there every time we visited London, and it always amazes us. Of course, being a quilter, I always have to buy some fabric there. Very expensive, but so worth it. Love the short Yayoi Kusama and Iris Apfel cameo appearance. For what I know, the golden ship on top of the store is based on the ship that was used to build the store: a lot of of the woodwork comes from that. My husband did have a haircut in the barber shop there. Have a great week 😘
Yay! Thanks for coming to explore Liberty with us, Gert ^_^ I did some research while I was editing. Get this, apparently the timber used in the construction of the building came from a few decomissioned three story battleships and the gold boat at the top if over 4 feet tall, weights like 120 lbs and is modeled after the Mayflower (the ship that brought the Pilgrims to America). Also, that LOOOOOOOONG chandelier in the back stairway is thought to be the tallest chandelier in Europe. Anyway, so much history there and so many more facts I won't bore you with, but what a cool place with completely overpriced things, LOL. Kimball and I hope you're doing well and send you big hugs 👨❤💋👨
I just love the quaintness of it all. And the panel with the white and blue tiles….that’s Dutch. Delfts Blue as it is called. Since 1653. But enough of that. The fabrics though! Stunning! I love how you have an eye for all the details. I couldn’t get enough of it and thank you for taking me on a tour, seeing the place through your eyes. I’m not going to be in London anytime soon, so this is the best.

Hello, Rocky and Kimball!! I'm glad you enjoyed the visit to Liberty. Your video revived my memories of walking through it decades ago. The Tudor facade is striking!! Though I recall finding the items for sale not as appealing as the building itself. It's a unique store of art and design, with echoes of the past thrown in for good measure. It reminded me of the V&A, except that everything was updated and for sale as opposed to being simply on display. The interior woodwork is really beautiful. The word stunning X 8.

So how many times did you say "stunning"? Or are you at... liberty to say?
@@pauld2810 OH MY GAWD 🤣 Seriously. 😜
I counted 14 when I was double checking the audio levels. But then I just heard another one at the very end of the video and I don’t know for sure that I counted it 😮💨😌
Hope you’re both having a very lovely Sunday 👨❤️💋👨🧡

@@paulchalcraft Awwww! Yay, I love it 🥰🫶
Thanks so much Paul. It’s very lovely to meet you. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to come give us a little corgi with a crown emoji 🧡🧡🧡
Feel free to come hang out anytime you’d like and much love from Kimball and me 👨❤️💋👨
Oh! Liberty!
The Overpriced tat shop!
Whilst I've not been there for a couple of years, my overriding thought as I've gone round the place in previous years is "have people been brainwashed into thinking this tat is good?" Seriously, all you're paying for in this store is the NAME, the quality is shocking!
Also, the building need thousands of ££££££'s spent on it to preserve it for the future. But the building is fabulous!
Shame on you Rocky, for outing Kimball in his charity shop shirt in this dubious establishment. So long as he is comfortable in his skin/clothing then the world shall be at peace!
Sorry for the rant - this shop triggers me! lol
@@paulhunter6178 Lol, I can see what you mean, Paul. Many of the prices were completely insane to me. I mean, it’s the same story with Harrods as well.
Thanks for coming along anyway. When you say Tat shop, I immediately think Tattoo shop 🤣
Hope you’re having a lovely weekend so far 👨❤️💋👨

Do you like kids or you want to be the uncle?
@@Fernand0Inoa Is there a third option where the children are in a different room and we’re just hanging out together drinking coffee? 🤣
No, I’m just kidding (kind of, not really). I think Kimball and I cooooouuuuld be dads but we really don’t have a desire at this time in our lives. Being uncles is fine 🧡
What about you? 🤔
@@RockyandKimball Be father is my biggest dream also life in Canada as soon as possible.

I don’t know why I never dared to enter the wonderful world of Liberty. My excuse: when I was a German teaching assistant living in Northampton I didn’t really have any money to spend … and all the money I had went into tickets for shows (if I remember it correctly, there is a musical theatre right across the street of Liberty). If I ever go back to London this is made it right to the top of my list. Thanks so much for taking us there! 🦮(you should see me in a crown).
Hey Andreas! I'm so glad you enjoyed exploring Liberty with us. What a crazy wonderful place to see with ridiculously overpriced things LOL. The musical theatre across the street (I'm pretty sure) has turned into a Spaghetti factory 🤣 Sorry to taint your memories 😜
Next time you're in London, let us know if you make it over to Liberty! Sending lots of love and hope you have a wonderful week 👨❤💋👨
