🎺 03:24 correction 🎺 - we meant Autumn/Winter 1997! Thanks for spotting. 🎶 Music 🎶 - the aim was 90s/Y2K/catwalk/Naomi vibe (🫠) but totally get that maybe you like something a little more relaxing? We hear you 🫡
And don't forget what an amazing accomplishment of Donatella to have this fashion house still as relevant as it was when her brother was still alive! ❤
Its an entirely different house now. Which is ok...but their stories deserve their own care. Gianni was an artist, Donatella is a designer. I appreciate them both for their point of view (in fact, I don't think Versace would be as ubiquitous as it is if Gianni been alive to continue), but they really don't have relation to one another beyond their blood.
I think the choice of a polyester lining was made with an eye to durability and an ease of care. A silk lining would have been quite delicate and would have required special care.
Love V & A videos but the music choice on this one was not my favorite- not very relaxing. I usually like to chill listening to your conservationists and curators but not with club music 😊
Wonderful narration and explanation of an exquisite dress, I love the sound of the zipper next to the supple leather, .. it must be a dream to wear *** Note.. I loved the back round music l, it made it more fun and enjoyable it sounded like the music played the the Versace stores in the 90s and 00s
The lining wasn’t an accident, haute couture goes with what is best. Also runway samples are rarely lined unless absolutely necessary for haute couture, it’s probably a commissioned piece but astounding
I think I got spoiled with all the ASMR Unboxing Videos that a video like this lost its potential with the “club music” in the background. But this is a beautiful dress and I love the curator, I’d want her as my boss.
A lot of complaints about what is actually very low key background music that in no way interferes with the content, but rather enhances it. The music suits the garment and the context in which it was worn. It’s intentional. I enjoyed it. It is well done.
I go to this channel to get away from the usual “edutainment” scene on RUclips. Even if music and sfx can fit, I still find it much more relaxing without.
These videos are really interesting; but in this one i am distracted by how she says Versace: please, it's VersacE, not VersacI (italian "E" not english). Apart from that, again, this kind of content it's very inspiring: thank you :)
I spotted the atelier’s numbered tag adjacent to the house tag. Would the atelier have a record of who wore/ purchased the dress? There was also something peeking out from behind the atelier tag that wasn’t explored…
Does how the dress came into the V & A collection not give you a clue? Did you purchase it at auction or someone donated it? There are still other ways to answer the mysteries. Perhaps Ms Campbell herself might help? Very nice to see it again and learn more about the construction. Thank you.
I think in this case instead of saying "Before he died" I would say "Before he was murdered" As it has been 27 years and there might be some who aren't aware of this.
They clearly wanted this video to be light, high-spirited and about Gianni's fashion. The word "murder" would completely halt the energy. This isn't a video about his life, its about his dress. You want to hear how he died, google him. His murder isn't really relevant to his life and art.
Great video, stunning dress! But pls stop with the music and the sound effects!! I love the relaxing nature of v&a videos - without the curator having to compete against the music. It scatters the focus from the artifact.
Is this music a new thing, or am I just used to the ASMR videos? The music is TERRIBLE, and so loud that I keep expecting the speaker to start shouting to be heard over it. I'm not saying you need to make EVERY video like the ASMR ones, but if you have to use music in the background, it really needs to be softer and unobtrusive! (Also those record scratches? Worst decision. >< One could be excused, but why use two back-to-back like that?)
Wait! At 3:24 your host relays this dress is from the Spring/Summer collection, but other times she mentions this gown is from Gianni's last collection for Autumn/Winter. So which is it? And please STOP trying to be WOKE! The disc jockey music/record ripping sound is annoying if not VERY TACKY. This is the V&A. The MET is doing the same nonsense with their exhibitions. There are other ways to be "cool" and be up to date. I guess you are trying to hone in on Gianni's bold use of music and originality but it is so disturbing hearing this record ripping sound.

But why do we need the music? I kinda just wanna hear the info without getting distracted
YES!
Or that kind of music
They're leaning younger for their viewership
@@eanarg25 How old are you that, you think THIS is kind of music the young folks are listening to?
@@jbtechcon7434😂
I love your videos, but please please please stop with the record scratches 😬
I agree completely.

Amazing video but the music this whole time no no, please.
Excellent but...the background music is so annoying...so not V&A.

Someone needs to talk with the sound mixer.
Gianni was a genius. What an incredible piece of art.
I think the choice of a polyester lining was made with an eye to durability and an ease of care. A silk lining would have been quite delicate and would have required special care.
Polyester is an absolut nono!
I don’t think durability is a factor in haute couture.
This is the kind of unboxing video I can get behind

Great video and the music matches the dress/runway era perfectly :-)

Yes I can barely understand what she’s saying
It’s still relaxing to me
what a beautiful and unique dress! it's so nice to hear all these special details about its craftsmanship and place in history
love the glove talk.
Talk glovey to me 😏

The voiceover feels like its competing with the music. Sorry.

I remember that dress, it was very brahm stoker's dracula and i loved it
This dress is really magical, thank you for the video
I really hope someone is reading all these comments about how obnoxious that music is.
I loved the back round music l, it made it more fun and enjoyable.
Love,y to seethe dress and packaging
Totally hooked on V&A , i always love the tissue paper very asmr for me , the shoulder pad shape somhow reminds me of a jellyfish 😊
Seeing all this care into unboxing this garment from 1997 just makes me more mad that Kim was allowed to wear Marilyn's dress
I miss your asmr videos
Next to the zipper there is a number written on tape that can be referenced in the Versace atelier or is it a V&A catalogue number?
It looks like the catalog number because it is the same number that is taped to the outside of the box.
@@celticgirl27 Oh I didn't notice that, thank you from Tokyo!!!
Record scratch noise utterly pointless. NOT COOL. Background music irritating. The dress is beautiful. Good video.

I want Sonnet to be my boss too 😌
The music and tecord scratches were not needed. Just your talking and the sounds the clothing and packaging give are enough.

That may be *your* experience, but it isn’t the rest of us lol
I don't mind the music. The record scratched are just....it seems like someone didn't fully understand what they're generally used for. 😅😅
Gianni Versace Haute Couture Fall/Winter 1997!. 🤟🌹🤳

So, was this something just made for the runway, or did some women actually buy and wear dresses like this to some party?
Typically, haute couture is made for one person.
I think in this case instead of saying "Before he died" I would say "Before he was murdered" As it has been 27 years and there might be some who aren't aware of this.
I believe people can google it if they want to find out more.

It VersacE, not VersacI. PLEASE!
why is the box so tall? seems like it'd take up a lot more space in storage than it needs to.
Gotta keep that dress protected 🫡
Great video, stunning dress! But pls stop with the music and the sound effects!! I love the relaxing nature of v&a videos - without the curator having to compete against the music. It scatters the focus from the artifact.
love these videos put PLEASE turn down the music!
The dress that she wore in the show was black leather not brown the dress you have was most likely made for client.
It also doesn't look long enough to be honest, but it's still amazing
Leather drys out with the time. How do you prevent that ?
There are leather conditioners and restorers.
Awfully annoying music! Does nothing for the dress presentation.
It’s Versace not Versaci
i like it how a bit funnier it is. the music is a choice. but i dont want this dry dusty musem style video anymore. this was very interesting
polyester on a coutoure garment if that doesnt scream 1980s fashion😂
Bring back the asmr vids pls 🥹🩷love to relax and learn at the same time
more coming soooooooon!

You won’t actually get to SEE the dress until 3:36
You could also just watch a clip of Naomi walking in it. I'm here to HEAR about it.
Background music is driving me up the wall 😬
Please could you celebrate, by name the people who pack the treasures? Seems only fair. They are not elves and hopefully paid!
We do :) Take a look here: ruclips.net/video/WESvN06g84U/видео.htmlsi=faJL3UcZ836yiUCn

The leather trade in Italy is mainly run by Chinese now.
Awful music for an awful advert , not for describing a beautiful couture dress.
