My dad used to sing this song to me before I would sleep. I miss his voice. He passed away when I was 12. This song bring back wonderful memories of my dad, and their voices are beautiful. :)

My son was only a few days old when I first sang this to him. I couldn't get through the song without crying, and to this day I tear up when I sing this to him.
My Grandma cryed at this concert during this song it reminds her of my grandpa who recently pasted away. I went to another concert last night and my grandma couldn't come because she is in the hospital. When they sung this it brought tears to my eyes because she couldn't come
This is exactly how I sang this song to my children for over 22 years now since my grandma passes away in 1996. I was pregnant for my oldest son and this song is the one all my 3 son's and daughter ask me to sing to them every night
In the future when i get married and have kids, i'm going to sing this song to them every night.
I highly recommend it. My daughter adores this song and it's one of the only ways I can get her to sleep
My ex-wife and I did this from the time our little guy was in the womb until Jesus called him home when my ex-wife was 36 weeks into the pregnancy and today marks eight years ago that Adam Jeffrey went home, and we or at least I am still keeping my promise to him I will honor his memory every year til we're united again. And almost nine months ago his mother and I got divorce after five years of separation, and what's crazy is we we're married for eight and half years but we're together for twenty-seven years and am only thirty-three. I'm so sorry...my cat Adobe passed away in 2018. I keep hoping and praying that someday, if I am a good person, whether it's next week or a hundred years from now, that we will meet again when Jesus calls us in paradise. I hope that gives you hope too.

Every night before bed time I hold my little man and sing this song to him 💙 no matter how tired and stressed I am this is truly the most special time of the day!
My mother passed away suddenly from a heart attack when I was 8 years old, I never got the chance to say goodbye, the first time I heard this song I was suddenly a kid again curled up in her arms and it was her singing. Time stopped, the world shrank down to just me and my mom I felt her touch stroking my hair, her lips kissing away my tears, while the song was playing I kept getting these images of her happy and ok and I felt this incredible peace wash over me as I was finally able to say goodbye. I cried myself to sleep and when I woke up I felt better than I had in YEARS. It didn't last long but I knew that from then on if I needed a good cry all I had to do is play this song and I'd be bawling like a baby. I've got severe depression and anxiety and the medication I have to take really shuts me down emotionally but doesn't let off steam so anything that can induce crying like that is a useful tool for stress relief.

I have been a huge fan of Celtic Woman since the first time I saw them on PBS...just happened to catch the "Songs from the Heart" concert tonight and second the orchestra began to play...i started to cry. My father sang this song to my sister and I when we were children. He passed away in 2004 and every time i hear it, its as though as I can hear him singing...an amazing group of girls!
My 4 year old is devastated! He listened to this every single night for a very very VERY VERY long time....its a ritual that calms him immediatly....why is it that I can not access it from our tablet now?

Almost 9 years ago from in the mid morning hours my exwife was going into early stages of labor with our son and first. And we sang this song every night during the 36 weeks of the pregnancy and nowadays I keep this song for his memory. I love you Adam Jeffrey and I will always keep your memory alive like I said to you that early morning when we only got to say our goodbyes before our hellos. But overall the marriage between your mother and I has ended two years ago but your memory with me will last until my last breath and I am united with you, and your mother and we can be a family again but in the heavens above. I am so fortunate to be called your daddy. Happy Heaven Birthday big boy.

This is my childhood lullaby my mom would always sing me. My parents are divorced and the share custody over me and my brother but during this coronavirus time I haven’t seen her for over a month, so I’m listening to this. It was also my 13th birthday last Saturday and I couldn’t see her for it. But this song brings me some joy

My little one sleeps to this every night. Within 4 or 5 songs (we randomize it) he's fast asleep.
They leave out words... I was singing along and then had to go back to make sure it didnt just skip. It should say "and you should always know, no matter where you go, no matter where you are, I never will be far away."
I agree, but this was exactly how I sang this to my children for 23 years since my grandma passes away in 1996... all my kids still ask me to sing this to them acapella before they go to bed... sometime multiple times

I'm sure that David dovnes refrain parts of billi Joel's beautiful song because this part only fit the lyrics.
And that for this, this arangement is most musical harmoinisk. David Dovnes is super musical.
