First time I used it was freshman year of highschool and I’m currently an engineer 1 year out of college and still haven’t mastered it to perfection and ease. I will say it’s got both easier and harder as technology has progressed and depending on what your making but I will always run into problems but my main point being is these RUclips creators specifically, always make it seem like it’s the easiest thing in the world. If I hadn’t got such a good job I had always considered starting a page to teach people stuff like this but maybe another day or hopefully somebody else will if they haven’t already.

Or maybe they don't care enough about their advert to put all this effort in. Because who cares if their ads look good or not, we would still hate them as ads
Would have been sick to have a layer of them fall from above when it went back down for a rainy effect and filling the hole back up. Sick video though!
This is cool but I feel like you could have just put the camera on a timer and used your hand and a guide rail. Save you the engineering, the cad, the coding, the manufacturing time and the overall cost. Would also make this a 1 day start to finnish project and you would have the exact same result.
We were all just tricked into watching an Icebreakers ad.
And a quick word from our sponsor icebreaker!
it was worth it tbh
Twice!
double ads
Twice
Yeah he was feeling lazy so he just 3d modeled and engineered a custom rig for a one shot beef with a gum company.
Usually that would be aspergers or autism creating that focus
Yea like this dude just did all that without any help? Suspicious or amazed.
I mean it’s easier to do that then to cnc it
I wonder what it's like when he's not lazy if this is him lazy
Exactly
“3D printed parts because I’m lazy” ya because us hard working people hand sculpt our precision motor and camera parts from animal bone or something?
Lol. Comment made my day. :)

LMAO.
Haha this comment is pure comedy genius.

I don’t get why this couldn’t have been controlled by hand. It’s two simple motions, you could have even used gears to rotate it in a single turn
Tell me you're bored without saying you're bored
“This Instagram ad was terrible, so I recreated it with my phone and Mac Pro, 3D Printer, the fake ice factory down the street...”
He really just make an ad for an ad
I hope you generate plenty of work from this type of video. Your commitment to practical effects blows CGI animation out the water
@buffalo wt yeah I think making this equals the difficulty of making the CG
To be fair, if the CGI was better it perhaps wouldn't have to be blown out of the water to begin with.
@@RetroOnSpeedDial CGI is illegal in food commercials?
@@RetroOnSpeedDial oh ok
I mean shure it Looks way better the qay he did that but with propper cgi you could get the same Effekt the ad was just not that well made
I’m pretty sure the part in the icebreakers ad when it goes back down it was just reversed try it
That looked so much better, and probably cost way less to make
Bet it didn't, pay some workers in a developing country where the wages are much lower to do some slightly shoddy CGI
I have to say this is far more honest than the normal ice breakers commercials.
This guy made a better ad at home than the whole company.
That was passive aggressive and I loved it
i took this ordinary icebreakers ad, and turned it into an APPLE ad AND an icebreakers ad. modern brilliance
Plot twist: This was all just one elaborate add and he's being pain by ice breakers to do this.
I feel like you could do this manually with the packet glued on the end of a stick.. Way easier lol
this looked cooler than the original ad
Just an entire Ad for Ice Breakers
"this ad has been annoying me for ages so I recreated it exactly"
You’ve heard of “unbullpups your AUG”, now prepare for “un-CGIs your commercial”
“simple actuator device”
Absolutely stunning!
This is how you get yourself a job. Provide value, get rewarded.
Icebreakers should pay you for improving their ad. The guy who made the first ad might be gunning for ya now though.
Maybe they already have lol
You dont think he can just upload a copy of an ad without permission, right? Hes working for them.
@@nareik8017 you obviously have no idea what your talking about and it’s so insanely far off instead of being concerned or preaching to you all the things wrong( which is everything) I’m laughing my ass off.
I mean, its basically the same thing
They do. This is viral clip masked like a short story from some random dude...
And then you were sued for $500,000 for copyright
When a single influencer can do a better job than a whole advertisement team of a company...
Or maybe they don't care enough about their advert to put all this effort in. Because who cares if their ads look good or not, we would still hate them as ads
Maybe they just didn't have the budget. Or the time. Or maybe some things went wrong. We don't know, so maybe don't judge.
They just hire people
I am gonna go out and say I don't think it looks better actually
Daniel schiffer couldve done a way better job with half effort ngl
This is more effective than submitting a resume
I thought the same thing.
I truly appreciate this type of work
All that for an ad. I'd say it's worth it
The add was designed so someone would recreate their add and make a large audience watch it for entertainment!
I like that the original Icebreakers ad showed the gum with the fake ice
Well the reboot didn't have the gum cubes mixed in with the ice.
I think this is really a 3D Printer commercial in disguise
Ice Breaker's Advertising Department: Ladies and Gentlemen, we've got em.
Bro, that recreation was way cooler than original XD
I would watch you make an ad more than I would watch the ad itself XD
In the end, they did make you buy a pack of the sweets. So I guess the ad could be called effective
what if he said "this video is sponsored by icebreakers" at the end lmao
Holy fuck I just got duped into watching an ad within an ad
Really cool, just lighting could be better, to make the ice cubes sparkle more.
“With my phone” and $5k worth of engineering
Man I hope you get a career in the movie industry doing practical effects, that was amazing and im not even mad about the double add
This looks the exact same, and is far more complex than “I recreated it with my phone”
pretty much yeah same thing just slightly less choppy than the original ad and recorded on some guy's iphone
There better be a long format video about how you did this.
The original was 3d animation blender probably
Damn you, indistinguishable advertisment!
3D parts and a mechanical actuator really necessary? Just use your hand 🤚🏻 and arm! 🙄
You did all that when all you need was
1. Elmers glue
2. 📦
3. Push the cup up with your OWN HAND 🖐
I bet the original was made with someone moving it from underneath with a stick, not a custom made actuator.
Frick I just watched a minute long ice breakers ad
Your mockup is a hundred percent better. 👌
You forgot to add pieces of the actual ice breakers gum in the fake ice
“Because I’m lazy”. Rrriiiiigghhhtttttt……
You are a straight up mad genius!!!
I feel like he was paid to do this🤔
Bruh it would probably look better if the lights stayed on at the end but I'm convinced to buy some ice breakers
the company : haha, free ad
Listen, for all we know the original one was done in 30 minutes
At least they got you to buy a container
Plot twist: he works for ice breakers.
God damnit I just watched an elaborate ad.
So you spent time and money on a free ad for a massive company
Would have been sick to have a layer of them fall from above when it went back down for a rainy effect and filling the hole back up. Sick video though!
Honestly, you didn’t need the electronic lift and turn table. A gear with a lever and pushing it up with a stabilized rod would have worked
My guy really said
"Trace on!"
Free advertisement. And what's worse it cost you money to produce said free commercial
Poggers for God
I think I remember hearing this music in a Honda ad or something
PhD Advertising Engineering
I wasn't expecting a masterpiece
Masterpiece?

this is an ad about an ad for an ad
He left out two things. Didn’t spread out pieces of the gum amongst the plastic ice cubes and he didn’t play the video in slow motion.
I need to see the two commercials one right after the other! 🌨🧊❄
This is the only thing on RUclips clips I've ever subscribed too
No side by side comparison 😤
Free adverts.
...you got me. Aight buying some hobby parts right away
Can you show a side by side at the end? That’d be neat
I get these ads on youtube. Confusing thing is, they have a Hershey's logo as their profile pic.
chocoTaco theme used 😂
Now I want ice breakers
that was surprisingly accurate. nice job 😁👍
That was actually really good
That’s how you submit a job application.
Missing the pieces of gum mixed into the ice
Feels like an Apple ad.
All that just for a commercial! Well I think he’s found his calling! 💯
The original add had their mint in the ice too tho. But close enough
He forgot to scatter some icebreaker cubes on top :(
All you did was add a spin but the point to get there was fanrastic
Hated this ad so much I spent a lot of time and effort remaking it
“Simple actuator thing”
Wha- I don’t even-
Wooow
This was sooo cool
Great Job!!!
You're a Pro!!! 👏👏👏
Very cool and all but that gumbox on a stick which you can hold would get you the same effect.
I'm pretty sure they did it with 1000x less effort
It's better, but it's not better enough to be worth it
Whelp the ad worked. You went out and bought a pack
Plot twist: it was a shot on iPhone meme/ad the entire time.
Plot twist: he made the ad
