I apologize to you for your words being taken out of context and misconstrued. The message was clear and the intent was to point people away from the events of the elections to God. You used the spirit of prophecy and I heard you say that we must pray for President Trump. Further you said that "Trump can still be saved and none of us can take a stone and throw it at the other."

I beg to differ.Just because we have a special work of spreading the Gospel doesn't mean we can't pause and take some time to address the issues happening in our world/country/society especially if it is related to God's world. This minister is simply trying to address the issues in his country that he sees are related to God's word. he started with a verse from the book of Samuel where it shows that even though God allowed the Israelites to have a King because that is what they want IT WASN'T GOD'S PLAN. And he is trying to say that for that reason, God may have allowed Trump to be the president just because the Americans want him to be their president and not because it is God's plan. and he is giving reasons for his doubts. He gives the example of felonies. And he is saying if it was him who was convicted of a felony he wouldn't even get a job. but Trump has been convicted of multiple felonies and still elected president why? because Americans have chosen to ignore the things of righteousness in order to get their worldly desires of GREATNESS (which is what Trump is promising them). The problem is if we stop to preach the gospel completely and focus on other things. but addressing an issue that is happening and then go back to preaching the gospel doesn't hurt and if anything, it help to shed some light on those people who don't have that understanding.

You are not a pastor, but I am sure that if your country puts in a president you are not pleased with, and one you have strong opinions about, you are probably going to speak out. Maybe not on this platform, but maybe so. I definitely believe God will use whoever is in a position to do His work, or allow things to occur to do His will. It doesn’t mean that people don’t have opinions on it though, because they do. I don’t believe a pastor should be using the pulpit to tell others what they think about that though. I think one of the biggest mistakes we can make as SDA's is that we make the talking about politics religion. Sure, we all have different ideas and opinions, but we should be careful in what we propagate, it may just polarise people more and even away from the truth as it is in Jesus. While it is important to keep our eyes on the signs of the times, we must be very careful in discerning the signs of the times. Some may just be one of Satan’s devices to keep us distracted.
That pastor could lose tax-exempt status for his church for taking such a political stance for one candidate over another. EGW advised caution against support for or against a political candidate from the pulpit, as we should focus more on our biblical message. The majority of Americans voted for Donald Trump, so there is a high likelihood such a sermon would turn people away. Furthermore, looking at the big picture, Christians may wonder if he preferred the candidate who supports sins like abortion/feticide/murder and sexual immorality/LGBT.

Dr. Martin Luther King 's legacy sprung from the Black Church's pulpit; it is part of their Culture. So much so, that most POTUS candidates visit Black Churches on the campaign trail. Found guilty on each by a jury of 100% haters of the man in one of the most anti-Trump districts in the entire nation. The party of the left did their best to make this man's trial more like that of Jesus' than any man of such wealth & fame in USA history. Laws were 'pretzeled' to indict him. The convictions have precisely zero chance of surviving the appellate process. Most people, even lawyers, can't clearly explain what the "crime" was and, if there was a crime here, how the defendant was responsible for it. Much, much more could be said about this joke of a case but not many will argue with this point: this prosecution played a big role in Donald Trump's return to power. A warning to Sabbath-keepers: if such a man can be convicted on thirty-four counts where there was no crime, what can (and will) an abusive prosecutor do to us? I think what we SDA should concern about is how we will spread the gospel and how our leaders will not allow Sodomitte into the church at large. Embracing Catholic relationship and LGBT into the church ideas should be the issue of concern to us. Whether we like it or not, prophecy has to be fulfilled. And we are already seeing the pictures of the falling away of the church members which Ellen G White has predicted coming to pass.

I apologize to you for your words being taken out of context and misconstrued. The message was clear and the intent was to point people away from the events of the elections to God. You used the spirit of prophecy and I heard you say that we must pray for President Trump. Further you said that "Trump can still be saved and none of us can take a stone and throw it at the other."

I beg to differ.Just because we have a special work of spreading the Gospel doesn't mean we can't pause and take some time to address the issues happening in our world/country/society especially if it is related to God's world. This minister is simply trying to address the issues in his country that he sees are related to God's word. he started with a verse from the book of Samuel where it shows that even though God allowed the Israelites to have a King because that is what they want IT WASN'T GOD'S PLAN. And he is trying to say that for that reason, God may have allowed Trump to be the president just because the Americans want him to be their president and not because it is God's plan. and he is giving reasons for his doubts. He gives the example of felonies. And he is saying if it was him who was convicted of a felony he wouldn't even get a job. but Trump has been convicted of multiple felonies and still elected president why? because Americans have chosen to ignore the things of righteousness in order to get their worldly desires of GREATNESS (which is what Trump is promising them). The problem is if we stop to preach the gospel completely and focus on other things. but addressing an issue that is happening and then go back to preaching the gospel doesn't hurt and if anything, it help to shed some light on those people who don't have that understanding.
He needs to get a people prepared to give 3 angels message. There is no time left for fooling around.

John the Baptist preached against the immoral behavior of Herod and ultimately lost his life for speaking truth to power. When someone addresses the immoral actions of leaders or others, it does not imply that they support a particular political party.
Besides him referencing Trump, his message was correct. We do kick the can. We need to be less judgemental and feel the right to cast the first stone.

Bro Lawerence i appreciate your covering on this issue. Who is the “president” of your country? You are not a pastor, but I am sure that if your country puts in a president you are not pleased with, and one you have strong opinions about, you are probably going to speak out. Maybe not on this platform, but maybe so. I definitely believe God will use whoever is in a position to do His work, or allow things to occur to do His will. It doesn’t mean that people don’t have opinions on it though, because they do. I don’t believe a pastor should be using the pulpit to tell others what they think about that though. I do think this pastor was very careful on how he did that, and it was as you said “gentle”. Still I think that he could talk about issues in this world without ever bringing up his “feelings” on what he thinks about people. I think one of the biggest mistakes we can make as SDA's is that we make the talking about politics religion. Sure, we all have different ideas and opinions, but we should be careful in what we propagate, it may just polarise people more and even away from the truth as it is in Jesus.
While it is important to keep our eyes on the signs of the times, we must be very careful in discerning the signs of the times. Some may just be one of Satan’s devices to keep us distracted.

EGW advised caution against support for or against a political candidate from the pulpit, as we should focus more on our biblical message. The majority of Americans voted for Donald Trump, so there is a high likelihood such a sermon would turn people away.

Now let us be real. I don't and never agreed with the part of what people forget; that in the USA African American Black people use the church as the platform for political functions.
Dr. Martin Luther King 's legacy sprung from the Black Church's pulpit; it is part of their Culture. So much so, that most POTUS candidates visit Black Churches on the campaign trail. It is what it is. And although as an SDA, I am a strong believer in the Separation of Church and State, i respect the fact that historically ,the Black Church was the only place where Blacks felt free to congregate and worship and speak freely. When or if we vote we usually do that in private and it's done silently, so who would really know how we feel personally? God gives us an opportunity daily to be disciples and use a loud voice just speaking to who we run into on a daily basis, we are to be Watchmen on the wall.
God says to turn to HIM and honor HIS name and HE will heal our land, not our governments, we are to pray for them. Judgment starts with the house of God.

We cannot with safety vote for political parties; for we do not know whom we are voting for. We cannot with safety take part in any political schemes.
