- Enterprise architecture is a way to understand how an organization works. We have often made it too complex in some cases and worried about the mechanics of EA rather than focusing on the value it provides. Here, we focus on understanding the core concepts after which we can worry about the mechanics. EA should be the foundation for any business transformation.
This video was created by a collaboration between Christine and Raj to clarify what EA is and how it can help organizations.

Excellent! Only a person like Raj can pull such a complex topic off in under seven minutes. The video made me feel like I had brushed through the entire togaf study guide in one shot
Thanks cinarain for your kind words
Thank you. I'm in HR desperately trying to understand my business more and this is just increasing my admiration of the colleagues I work with.
great
Thank you for this, I finally get it. I listened to my teacher yap for 2.5 hours on this topic and I understood nothing at the end of it.
Haha - that's interesting. I've sat through boring classes always wondering how I would have made it more interesting. Now this is my attempt to right some of that :-). Really appreciate your comment.
Im a newbie. And i love this. How can i start learning? Any start up ea consultants?
This video succinctly explains Enterprise Architecture! Kudos to Dr. Raj Ramesh and Christine Stephenson!
Thanks for explaining so nicely. I am doing my Executive mgmt course from IIM, even they are giving this as a reference link to understand EA. Have my exam tomorrow on MIS and this really helps. Appreciate your support.
Glad it was helpful, and thanks for letting me know. I had no idea how much this video is referenced. Best wishes on your exam.
@manishachoudhary7221 what was your specialzation?
This is Gold. Open Group must make this mandatory viewing for Enterprise Architects. Thank you Dr Raj.
Thanks, appreciate that :-)
@@RajRamesh Thank you. I watched your series before starting with TOGAF. This made it very easy for me to understand the EA as a discipline. Thank you.
This is one of the clearest explanations I have seen. Bravo.
Thank you
I need to understand EA to assist my entire country in its governments digital transformation. Thanks for creating this.
Thanks for the great review. I am working with several clients on EAM projects and this is often a good entry for additional stakeholders to understand the topic.
This is the best and simplest video that explains satisactorily what EA is, thank you for this.
Glad it was helpful!
This is probably the best sub 10 minutes explanation of EA that I have come across. Thanks
Wow, thanks!
@@RajRamesh can I use this periodically in my training course?
I just completed the SAP LeanIX course on EAM, it’s is so interesting. Love the doodles, those crisp lines!🎉
Thank you very much!
Very well explained and I would say this is the best source of information about TOGAF, packed in just 6 minutes box. Thanks for sharing the knowledge, much appreciated!
thanks, and that means a lot to me.
Not one source I came across could explain the relationships between the architectures as you just did. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellently put.. just wow.. they say if you cannot explain it in simple language ..then you don't understand it.. I feel enlightened Raj.
thank you!
2:22 complex. Amazingly crisp, concise, yet detailed. Very nicely explained; clarified EA in nutshell. Thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it!
God bless you Ramesh. Thank you for contributing to EA. Mashallah.
Thank you!
I'm a bit technologically-challenged and yet I could understand this. Lucid and crisp explanation. Thanks alot.
Great to hear!
@@RajRamesh Thanks a lot Mr. Raj😁
there are 1000's of videos and its when we watch this kind of video we get knowledge and satisfaction... thank you Raj for such a short crisp and clear video..
It's my pleasure
Simply superb - how missed this content is what I'm upset about.
thank you!
Nailed it! After going through a range of TOGAF materials and other references I was not yet able to clearly define "why EA?" and "what it does?" but yours is the best! Pls keep doing what you doing, I am that top fan who is (im)patiently waiting for your next video to come up every week.
Excellent!
You nailed it Raj! Its simply amazing that how nicely you explained a highly complex topic with ease and that too in such a simple term, truly kudos to you.
My pleasure
I felt like this is a really good video and very illustrative. Excellent work. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing. It's easy and simple to break it down 4 domains as you did that holistically summarize EA need and its significance for an organization.
Oh man, what a wonderful simplified explanation. Well done.
Very short and simple explanation of Enterprise Architecture and its components. Important part which I liked about the purpose behind EA to connect different parts of business and make them work together towards a desired outcome. Thank you very much the video on this topic.
Glad you liked it
I definitely see the need for this in our organisation but convincing old school execs of the need for it is a tough thing.
Haha, the "born before technology" syndrome type
Thank you for this comprehensive overview. You really simplified this complex topic very clearly. Kudos to that.
Glad it was helpful!
This is what I was looking, it’s a great video. Thanks for sharing this
Nice one Raj 🙌🏼 Good to see the use of Technology Architecture to support the Business Architecture.
In my experience, it’s Technology Architecture that drives Business and Business Architecture requirements, due to misguided focus on Technology.
If the Business doesn’t have a need or use for the technology, no matter how ‘cutting edge’ it appears or is sold, it will as you say ‘easily becomes obsolete’. Unfortunately companies are realising that the hard one, hence the high failure rate in digital transformations 😏
Thank you so much for your wonderful explanation of EA
Thank you, Very crisp and clear overview on Enterprise Architecture
Glad it was helpful!
Your understanding on EA is very deep. Finally I get it what this EA fuzz is all about.
Thanks @Vasimullah. Glad it helped
Well articulated explanation of Enterprise Architecture
Complex!!! And complexity is driving to further levels of specialization, but IT automation is accelerating the automation of activities driving employees into 'new work' paradigms faster than adaptation can take place within a mind.
The Best! Spoken very clearly which is difficult to find on RUclips.
Wow, thank you!
Thank you for making this subject so easy to understand!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the Videos for simple and easy explanation....
You are welcome
Again simply superb explanation in such a short and crisp form. While seeing this video I was imagining where all I fall and where all EA handling this complex architecture.
I always love your content very direct and to the point. thank you!
I appreciate that!
Great video which shows, in a non-technical way, what EA is and the important elements of it.
Nicely articulated, one of the major issue which we observe is the actual implementation of any plan at ground level where aligning the human resource and mindset becomes a challenge and a key success factor in any architectural success
Yes, for successful implementation we need to consider many factors. Some of these are deterministic - like how system behave, and some are non-deterministic like how people react to change. Managing all that is the skill of a great implementation manager/team.
Thank you for explaining in simple language
absolutely outstanding work. No marketing fluff. just plain to the point. You earned a sub!
Much appreciated!

Awesome & straight to the point! If you don't mind me asking, what do you use for your voiceovers ? I mean is this your natural voice? or do you run your voiceovers through some software that makes them more crisp and professional. btw, I subscribed to your channel!
Thanks for subscribing. Appreciate it. Yes, this is my natural voice, but I do try to record with a good microphone in a quiet space.
