  • A warm welcome to everyone checking out my latest RUclips video!
    In this episode, I share with you my thoughts on this 1980 Mazda Familia 323 GLC. The first hatchback to arise from the Mazda brand, created as a sub-compact economical daily driver, the car was an instant hit. Beyond the metal, the GLC had the underpinnings of a fantastic driver's car. Encompassing great potential many people saw what was truly capable. So, with all that done, just how good is it?
    Thank you to the owner Richard for sharing his pride and joy!

    Came to check out the 323 (my first car), stayed for the sheer enthusiasm of Clay and his raw joy of driving this underrated little classic. Loved your work, mate. You've got a new subscriber.

    Never should have parted with mine...I will forever miss it.
    The things I did in that car was ridiculous.
    Tonnes of fun on the dirt and corners.
    Had several larger cars go off the road trying to keep with it in corners.
    Compression lockups into 90 degree corners at 160kmglh and just steer out so easy.
    Mazda rear wheel drives usually have a 50/50 weight distribution.
    Those little holes in the steering wheel, used to stick 2 fingers in that to steer on the dirt one handed whilst driving around.. easiest car I've ever Steered without power steering..but caus of the short wheel base to had to be quick on the snapback.

    I had a red 1979 323 with 1-4 . It had square headlights and an........ahem.......... automatic transmission. The dashboard was coffee brown, it excellent condition so I slapped a dashmat on it to keep it that way. I drove it all over NSW........and loved it, but did crave a manual gearbox.
    I really wish I still had her now. The day I sold it, it was running impeccably and everything still worked.

    "This car has no safety features at all!" Including an unsecured jerry can of fuel in the back seat! Lol. Clay says "whattt?" Mainly due to hearing loss! LOVE the hotwires, such a classic wheel. What diameter, and where from?

    Hello, I am French and I have a mazda 323 from 1977. I would like to know what you have put as shock absorbers, and everything about handling. I love your wheels if you have addresses to find them. It is extremely difficult to find any part in France. Thank you in advance cordially

    Not meaning to “Piss On Your Parade”Clay, but definition of Street Sleeper, is a vehicle that looks as close to factory and original as possible, with upgraded engine and mechanicals to make it go, upgraded mechanicals to make it stop, and overall making it all work together to make it safe.
    That means no mag wheels, no racing stickers, no Recaros.

    Always a good effort Clay,but just like some other people not really a rotary fart can fan.Barra 6 and 8,and many other engines over the rotary any day.Bit of fun temporary novelty anyway.

    • @hdnotlost7314
      @hdnotlost7314 3 года назад

      @@davidhusband5022 Check out the facts that there are much better and stronger engine options than a rotary.Each to their own,i dont care.Look at how amazing those "taxies" are though.I am a bit of a bogan and that dont bother me,but alot more to me than just being a bogan.If people want to run rotarys over other options who cares.

    • @hdnotlost7314
      @hdnotlost7314 3 года назад

      @@davidhusband5022 There is 6 second barras.Also street legal 7 second barras.To say that they dont come close what a joke.As for my opinion,dont tell me what i can and cant say.If i or someone off of street outlaws for example want to say fart can,then we can.I was having my opinion,a bit of fun,and some knob bag even wants to call me a pole smoker and get abusive,or some punk saying i cant have an opinion thats been said as a joke many times by people,screw you.
