My sales have plummeted on my store account, despite having more listings than I've ever had. I had zero sales from 6/10 - 21 and zero again yesterday and today so far. During that same time, I did get a few sales on my non-store account and on mercari, both of which have far less listings.
I don't have a huge inventory but the last week I have noticed my sales tanking. Looking at sold listings I'm seeing the same items selling for more. I quit selling Mercari because as a buyer the fees are way too high now. Sweet for sellers that are just getting rid of the junk in their garage for cheap but not someone flipping on a small margin. For now I'm only focusing on eBay.
Mercari sales are tanking because the buyer’s are getting screwed with heavy fees now! I was going to buy a Funko Pop that was listed for $250 and during checkout once fees and taxes were added, I would have ended up paying closer to $350! WTH? Sellers no longer pay fees, but those rolled over to the buyer. Terrible model…
They hit you with “service” and “processing” fees + tax of course. Then they give you little disclaimers for each fee: “Service fee may vary. It helps us improve Mercari’s features and your experience.” “Payment processing fee is $0.50 plus 2.9% of the item price, delivery cost, service fee and tax.” They still charge tax on top of both fees! In my case, the item list price was $255 + the service fee of $50.40 + the processing fee of $9.09, and a tax of $20.66 - for a grand total of $335.15 which is $80.15 beyond list price. No thanks! And it sucks because it really screws sellers in the end…
@@jamesestrada82 I get they charge a fee but when a guy either buyer or seller is charge repeated fees that is the problem. A fee charge on a previous fee is a rip off.
I get us being charged tax and yes a fee but a item going from 250+ to near 355+ that is just wrong no matter how they dice that. Now, i don't know what shipping would cost but hopefully your not fee'd on that as well. eBay does that with us sellers on their site and that is wrong.
We heard about this a few days ago but we wanted to make sure we had it right before we said anything. Has anyone heard anything else?

It's definitely been super crazy this month.
Yeah, it's been a very slow month for sure. Hopefully things will pick up before summer's end.

@joshuathiessen2590, I totally understand that.

What were all the fees because that seem really excessive?

@@jamesestrada82, those 'service' fees are a big joke.
