- 'ALF' star Benji Gregory has died. He was 46. Benji's sister, Rebecca Hertzberg-Pfaffinger, confirmed his death on Facebook. The former child actor starred in multiple TV shows before he retired from acting, including over 100 episodes of the hit '80s sitcom.

I am very saddened to hear how Benji Gregory passed away with his service dog. I grew up watching Benji. RIP my friend and thank you for sharing your talent with us.

What had happened is that he had deposit his check at a chase bank atm and he got back in his car and fell asleep. He suffered from depression and a sleeping disorder that he would be up for days. He lived in Arizona and yes, it was miserably hot last month with temps in 113+

I am an Arizona born and raised, you don't have to tell my it's a typical June. Actually the temps in June have been ABOVE average. I remember when it got to 120 degrees here. I was just explaining if people didn't get the whole story

@RyanSmith6644, I was just thinking about this the other day! I had googled up a country singer I had listened to as a child just out of curiosity and I was shocked how old they had appeared. Made me sad but it was nostalgic remembering the songs they sang. My 90’s mix tape/CDs were all over the place 🎶 😅

His sister also said he suffered from depression and was "bipolar." He and his service dog died in his car in a Chase Bank parking lot. So sad.

@@marvinthemaniac7698 he had a sleeping disorder where he would be up for days at a time. It was suggested he could have fallen asleep in his car and died from heatstroke.

I was a huge fan of Alf when I was a kid, had the stuffed animal and all (I still have it actually). May he rest in peace, and I thank him for being a part of my childhood ❤️

That seems to be happening alot . My younger brother was found dead. Hes being buried today and they think his was also from heat stroke. It so sad because he was only 35, RIP Benji and to my little bro nickname Boi
What a way to report the story. They left out the part where he chose to sit in a hot car with windows shut and die. The dog didn't have a way of getting out. Poor dog.
He chose to? I was thinking he had a medical condition or a heart attack that caused him to pass out and the heat ultimately killed him. They left out the whole suicide part.

My father almost never watched TV except for the news and Johnny Carson's jokes monologue at the beginning of "The Tonight's Show." But my dad loved to watch ALF. RIP Dad and Benji. 🧡🧡🙏🙏

Ich persönlich bin froh, dass ich mir vor langer Zeit der kompletten Staffeln von ALF auf DVD gesichert habe und weiß echt nicht wie oft ich die Serie mit meinen Kids schon angeschaut habe!😊
Was echt schade ist oder war das die Serie nicht mehr weiter ging, sondern nur 2 Filme folgten!
Die Serie neu zu erfinden wäre echt eine Bereicherung für viele ALF Fans gewesen.
So bleibt halt nur die Erinnerungen und die Folgen die hin und wieder bei Nitro laufen.

I still have my Alf dolls and figurines, used to have a sweatshirts and a blanket.. my whole family watched the show. Even years later when someone burped, it was common for us to say "you Alf!"
