I think combustion engines will make a comeback with the renewable fuels Legislation could even change before we make it to 2030…. Mild hybrids could keep them around for long enough if not, until the fuels are perfected.
Even if they do, it’s unlikely they will license it to other car makers. They’re not making a lot of that stuff, 500000 litres in the first few years of production. I reckon that’s about 8000 911s worth of fuel and that’s it. Think F1 has a better chance of getting something like that out to the automotive world.

By standard logic, the faster the mass average car owner and model transition to EV. The more fuel will be available to burned by petrol heads for a longer time.

No one will ever be able to convince me using logic, reason and facts that Porsche doesn't build the greatest sports cars in the world! I thought that in the 1980s when I was a kid. I've been an engineer for 30+ years now and know a lot more about cars and feel even more strongly that no automobile manufacturer gives their owners as much as Porsche does, at any price.
Having spent quite a bit of time behind the wheel of the first gen GT4, I've got to say this looks like a masterpiece. The standard GT4 is so beautifully balanced, obviously the only major downfall was the slight lack of power. It was a quick car, but by no means fast, and you had to work it higher in the power band to get its full potential. This on the other hand looks like something else, for the best.
That’s the issue I hear with these gt4s. They have long gear rations so you barley get to second gear and your already breaking the speed limit. Hopefully they fixed it for this one

@@eugenux You're missing the point of why EV's are and will mostly take over the car market everywhere given enough time. Yeah sure it's better for the environment but that's not really the biggest driver. EV's are simply a better, more reliable and cheaper infrastructure in the long run for everyday cars. there's a quarter of moving parts and electricity can be made a dozen different ways, allowing greater flexibility for both developed and developing countries to make (oil, gas, ethanol, wind, nuke, solar, hydro, geothermal, etc). I love the sound of engines, the feeling, the connection to the drive it gives. Personally I have both, an EV for commuting everyday, a NA 6-spd V8 for the weekends. For most people the EV (once the battery price comes down) will be the way to go. Even a lot of fellow aerospace engineers I work with appreciate an engine, but EV is just nicer... and 90%+ of people dont give any shits what they drive as long as it gets them there. There will always be a market of ICE just like people ride horses or sail boats. But most people just want easy and reliable, which is an EV.

I think Porsche's GT division has insisted the RS cars be automatic only for a while now (I guess since the 991). From what I've heard it's because they're meant for maximum track performance, and for that I guess that means automatic only.
They couldn't fit the GT3s manual in here because it wouldn't fit and GT4s manual can't take the 9000rpm redline. So either they'd need to redesign the whole chassis, limit the redline to something lower or design a completely new transmission which would be stupidly expensive. So it's not that they wouldn't, it's that they couldn't.
sounds good but you should try a GT350. V8 at 8000 RPM is amazing. Fantastic car, cant believe they finally gave the Cayman the full beans. the yellow and black is a bit much for me
