How To Make A Studio Roller/Kraft Paper Dispenser | Woodworking

- A studio roller works at home or in an office space, anywhere that you need to get pen to paper. The wall-mounted bracket dispenses kraft paper, and the excess is torn off at the bottom using an aluminium strip with an edge. This is a great weekend project for beginner woodworkers. It uses simple joinery but if you want to add something more complicated you could.
Here's a link to the wood that I'm using in this video: www.3rt.com.au/

The subjects covered in this wood working book “Bαzοmο Tdy Plαn” (Google it) ranges from wood types to tool types as well as uses. A few other matters include the several types of wood and their distinct levels of difficulty with regards to managing them. This book has been very useful and is a great one for someone just getting into woodworking. .
Can you share your measurements.. Plz
That was a good, quick and easy build which went together without any problems. Love it when that happens 👍
When a plan comes together
Use a vacuum cleaner to suck up the dust while you're drilling. Zero mess on the carpet. Nice build.
Thanks
Was that an LVL? If so, how did it work? One of the materials I've never used, but have always wanted to after I saw it used for building a roubo.
I think I could use something like this instead of a whiteboard in the workshop, hrm!
It's edge laminated wood, from a company called 3Wood. So it's engineered but they're trying to get it into the fine woodworking market. I'm sure you've used something similar in video
@@RobinLewisMakes The stuff I've used is edge laminated plywood, so that the plys are all showing, but it still has alternating grain direction.
I've heard of, but know nothing more, 3Wood. It does sound like an LVL, just better looking than construction grade. Shame their website doesn't have any info like stockists!
Great idea and nice build! The result looks awsome. Well done man!
Thanks!
wow, toilet paper is really big in australia huh.
Very nice Robin . . . I'd be interested to see if the dowels hold up, the full roll looks heavy. Like the simple design of the paper holder. Cheers.
Thanks Rod. No angry phone calls yet so the answer is yes, it holds up a full roll
nice one Rob. Wouldn't work here because of the size but something I have on my workbench is an old hacksaw blade spaced with a couple of washers that I feed sandpaper though to tear neatly.
Yes! Didn't think of that, that would've worked great
Looks awesome
Nice stuff mate ! Also you can use a bandsaw blade or hacksaw blade for a cutter :)
Thanks!
Would probably make for a cleaner cut too
Nice build, mate. 👍
I really like the design.
Where did you score the roll of paper from?
Thanks Bill. That was supplied by the client, not sure where she got it. The original brief was to make the studio roller to fit that roll of paper
@@RobinLewisMakes no worries mate, appreciate your reply 👍
Nice job Robin! 👍🏻👊🏻
Thanks Fred
as always ! great work dude !
Thanks Mike!
Looks excellent !!!!
Thanks!
