I love when singers do this. It kinda reveals their musicality, showing that they can alter the melody to where it's comfortable for them on days they can't hit the big note. Great compilation!
+Wasian Mob this comment is shit, there´s a huge difference between can´t hit the big not and not doing it all the time, they sing all the time, they got to take care their voices... is just that! in fact lot of the artist in here did those notes in other performances.
Christina Aguilera: That 'Lady Marmelade' note is fucking insane. I totally understand that you won't always get on the first try. Kelly Clarkson: Those high notes of 'Since U Been Gone' are insane too. She can hit them live but it's cool if she can't from time to time. Beyonce: She is fucking amazing live, so it doesn't matter if she changes things up sometimes.
+Ignasi Martí Palet Exactly. And sometimes singers will sing it different to prove they are singing it Live because they know videos like THIS and, "isolated vocals," exist...

She hit the note pretty good at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show but she got lucky cause her voice was dry af that day. Usually she dodges it completely but in that performance the note was raspy so it came out as raw power instead of a resonant belt but still sounded great.
PetroleumJellay Yeah but I meant to say that while D5 isn't that much of a problem (Which she hit in both Victoria's and Xfactor performances, as well as in many other songs), Eb5-E5 would be a problem because she is an alto after all. She is good singer.

Andres Guillermo Alvarez Lopez Those good singers I mentioned in my main comment are those who understands their body condition... some of singers has natural talent and some were skill trained talent... Dirty little secret...) let say beyonce with natural and exceptional talent can hit her notes little higher or lower than the notes she supposed to hit, while the other who just use technique could go flat, both depends on their body condition. And i really think that singers in the video are good singer.
Then, in that sense, dodging's a wise decision. I like Adele's style- (if she's hitting a note on one of her records, but she knows she'll probably fail epically, if she tries to hit that same note live, then she'll back off completely, and let the audience take over, and just call it "audience participation." I remember her owning up to that in an interview one time!) o.o

+calvin9999999999 I seriously think Christina actually don't have that upper register, she never did it live properly even pushing her larynx like crazy she always fails
Marcus Rafael Ferracin yeah she strains too much. She can never re-produce her upper belts live like as easy as they sound in the studio. She's only ever hit G#5 once or twice in her whole career, and G5 (exclamations) a few times.
Rihanna dodged the note from Diamonds because it was transcribed up a whole step, possibly a half step. Meaning the song is higher than usual. Because of that, the note she would have to hit would hurt her because it isn't I her range, so she dodged it quite effortlessly. On X-factor and the fashion show were in the the original key, where she was able to hit the note
christina is just lazy but she did sing upper notes in live believe me ! of course if you don't check her concert lives you cannot see but that's fine for me i'm not a fan of high register really but beyonce is not a pro of the high register too and please don't put christina and katy in the same line grrrr !! like i put ari and mariah
+Mike Kel if her mixed voice is too head dominate that means she does not have perfect control. A mixed voice is equal parts head and chest. She does not have equal parts.
+Mike Kel if her mixed voice is too head dominate that means she does not have perfect control. A mixed voice is equal parts head and chest. She does not have equal parts.
+Raini Kim incorrect. mixed voice does not mean equal balance, the higher or lower the note the balance should change accordingly. upper belts should be head dominant, lower belts chest dominant and mud belts equal.
The difference between Beyonce and the others is that Beyonce dodged her note not to "avoid failure". It's because Love On Top is an extremely repetitive song, so she wanted to change it up a bit.
Jessika Gaauur True!!!!! Love On Top of known for the key changes at each verse. It's common for Bey to bring it lower at a certain verse. It's a statement.
Katy Perry is the queen of dodging big note Like, how many performances she always avoid those notes in final chorus And sometimes, even after she took lower note, she was still off-key Maybe she's not relevant enough to be in this video Beyonce slayed it. She may miss that big note, yet she still show how powerful and great techniques that she has
um, it would probably damage their vocal cords to hell if they attempted to hit the high notes every time they performed one of these difficult to sing songs. they still sound good regardless, especially beyonce.
to be honest nobody should give them crap for dodging a big note once in a while because they sing like 24/7 every day and have tours, recordings, practicing sessions. They can damage their vocal chords if they stress them too much. So they actually are smart for dogding the big notes once in a while. Plus we know their vocal capabilities they have their moments of slayage and they rock! Plus something different can be good sometimes
Demi didn't exactly dodge her notes. She always sings them different to her audio tracks. She changes notes to add in riffs and runs and honestly i love the passion she puts into the live stuff more than her recordings. And with certain songs she does that because they have such a deep meaning to her that she doesn't want to "mess up" so she changes it just in case.
As a performer, I can say that it is impossible for your voice to always be at your maximum capacity during concerts. Even when you're not sick, there are days when your voice just does not feel right and it would be highly dangerous to go for the high notes and it is why we work around them during some of our live performances. But when we feel great, then we're going to land every single high note that we have to make the best show that we possibly can for the audience and ourselves.
As a performer who does 3 shows 6 nights per week...I completely understand the necessity of altering (dodging) those studio recorded notes or altering keys. When you perform as often as these ladies do with hectic schedules (including interviews, photo shoots, tours etc), strenuous travel (typically on fumes), long nights and early morning... it's wise to do what you have to do to maintain your vocals. Also, let's not forget there may be times these ladies are sick or hoarse that we don't know of because when a good professional is actually sick, the show must go on and most audiences are non the wiser.
SuɱtɧɩɳMstBAʋaɩℓaƄℓε Well now you do. If they cant sing up to studio quality, then I guess they aren't that good of a singer. Or I should say, they are only good in the studio. True singers like Gladys Knight, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin prove that they can manage to sing live.
bartdude82 Whitney 'dodged' as well as Aretha. What you're not taking into account is that touring is more intensive for vocalists than it used to be. Usually only big pop artists and rock bands were able to do extensive touring, and balladeers and divas like Whitney and Aretha were able to lay back on the money their songs and albums made. These days, 'big' singers like Ariana Grande and Beyoncé are not only expected to, but required to do extensive touring to be successful, and these are sometimes 100+ date tours with no understudy or stand-in like you'd get for say musical theatre. These artists are still human and no human can sing these notes all the time whenever they want to. Some artists like Beyoncé or Whitney have more resilient vocal cords and really good technique so you don't see this type of 'dodging' behavior as often as you'd see for other artists, but not everyone is built the same. Some people can sing back to back all the time, some can only sing well 2/7 days of the week. Sometimes your voice gives out right before a show and at that point, the gig is already booked and you can't back out. Would it be a better idea for them to 'try' the note and risk a hemorrhagic fit like Adele did? I don't understand what you expect them to do?
*Ariana:* I don't like her, but I will give her credit for singing live, and in her defense, the whistle register isn't easy to hit. *Christina:* I'm sorry, but she's a screamer. I like a couple of her earlier songs, though... *Mariah Carey:* She is perfection. The original DIVA GODDESS. She doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. *Kelly Clarkson:* She has a strong, consistent voice, both recorded and live. *Demi Lovato:* I honestly don't know enough about her to be able to make an informed criticism, but she sounds good here. I don't see/ hear a problem. *Jennifer Hudson:* She's untouchable. Love her! *Beyonce:* Not a fan, but I can't deny she's got a strong voice.
After watching the Beyonce part, you are getting a big ass thumbs down. Yonce doesn't need to dodge shit. She is usually taking things up in concert. She NEVER performs a song the same way twice.
Agreed.. A lot of singers like to change notes in a song. Katy does it all the time, which I love. When a singer sings the song the exact same way every time it gets boring. Ariana grande was like that for a while but recently started changing her notes which I'm glad for
+Lion O'Nrun lmao go away and stop calling me an idiot and go get a life in the real world always commenting about Ariana negatively do you actually have a life???? Let people live and go watch you're fav
No shade, but when Mariah was 21 she NEVER. Also even now she has a 98% across minus that one Christmas performance that people won't let go of because their fave could NEVER. (Unless you have B in your camp) Ha. Also many of these notes including those from Yours were additional not dodged.
What "big notes" do you mean Mariah Carey is dodging when she goes into whistle register? Is there any more "big notes" than that? Not that I see much point in whistle register, except from showing off or doing party tricks, but still - it is not something all singers do master (even if I'm sure most could with a little practice, it is a technique, quite in right now, for some odd reason).
LottaTroublemaker It's dodging because it's easier for her to sing whistle notes than it is for her to actually belt. She has a lot of range but she's never been as proficient at belting as her peers. She didn't wanna sing all those G5s and A5s so she whistled instead. I'm not complaining, the dodged version sounds a lot better than the studio version.
at 4:23 the playback kicks in and at 4:27 Mariah puts her hand out and shakes it to tell the audio engineer to turn it off because she wants to sing it by herself.
It's just a D5. For Rihanna - it's high and difficult, but it's cause her technique isn't good at all. D5 for a female - it's mid-belt, not too difficult
+LeaMiele please, she slayed for 20+ years. give her a break. she has afterall proven many times over her musical genius. she wrote and produced all her songs. not very many can say that. oh, lets not forget, she is the 7th biggest selling artist of all time. thats 200,000,000+ albums SOLD.
It's pretty clear to me Ariana dodged those notes because on those particular days she either didn't want to put in the effort or thought that it her voice wasn't up to it that day. Pretty normal for singers to do that and judge how they're going through the performance to make those decisions. She didn't go lower because she "likes changing notes" lol (and yes, I know she goes higher/sings what is in the original but that's not what I'm saying).
But why would she change the note to a less impressive note? You can tell when a singer is dodging a note when they lower the key suddenly and add random riffs/runs to compensate and might later on try to add higher notes to make up for the missed note.
Mariah's were clever... The melody in Always Be My Baby was really nice, so was the whistle added in Yours. Christina's seems really nice too. Great video! :)
I LOL'd at the performance of Since U Been Gone. Soon after that, the doctor forced her to rest her voice for a year because it was damaged. She hits the G5 in SUBG a lot of times.
yo mariah is just perf in every aspect of the word. that performance of yours. the way she just easily transitioned into her whistle register it was angelic. and beyonce of course slays all day every day
I love this video and I am cracking up at the "avoid failure" quote 😂😂 this actually shows who's pretty vocal savvy! Lol you can tell how they changed the note to fit their comfort at the time. I do it all the time in songs when I feel like it may not come out as good as it usually does lol... Some of there switch ups were actually better than the original and some still worked for the melody while the rest weren't all that
I actually like the concept; definitely unique and interesting. I think the connotation of "dodge" makes it appear negative, when in actuality, it's just a key or note change. Singers can't sing the same exact notes EVERY TIME. There's vocal rest concerns, especially if you have a strenuous set list and several concerts left to get through. Can't blow madly in the first several dates and be weaker the latter half. And of course health issues or random variables. I personally like it when artists mix it up!
i love when they dodge certains notes it adds extra flavour to the songs as long as it is not systematic but concerning xtina it always blend very well :)
Beyonce's part was great. Hers was just pure artistry. Her level of musicality is on a different note compared to the other singers. Though, Mariah's a genius in creating soft melodies and new tones, her live performances seem to appear weak. I still love her anyway. Both are great. As of the rest, they do have a lot of catching ups to make. 😂
+Jesus Ray Quilantang I agree. And Mariah's voice today is nowhere near her vocal prowess during the late 90's and early 00's whereas Beyonce has stayed on top since her teen years.
even though its a adrenaline rush let down to fans that a certain anticipated note was not hit by the singer alot of times they may not do it all the time not only for comfortably but also for vocal health reasons constantly hitting thoes notes can sometimes take a toll on the vocal cords so it may be alot safer for them to hit that range/note every so often... either way they still were able to vocally kill it live either way
Don't forget Adele's Someone Like You "Don't forget me, i beg" part, she ALWAYS dodges that note, I don't know if there is any live performance she sang that note (except carpool karaoke)
The one note I get annoyed by her ALWAYS dodging it, is Christina Aguilera in "Hurt" when she sings "[I would] tell you how much I miss you since you been away..." during the bridge. I respect she doesn't even go near it and therefore ad-libs like how a good singer should, but it's my favorite part and have heard covers of others doing it great.
She was more focusing on showing emotions, so she dont focus on hitting it. Because if she does, she'll have a problem. Maybe she's hesitating that it would fail because she was more on emotion
As a singer for the last 40 year's, I can tell you that many, many things can affect a live performance. Anything from a lack of good monitors, to not being able to hear yourself over the band, and of course a LOT of dancing. You hit those high notes after jumping around like an idiot for an hour, or more on stage. Not to mention the first and the last legs of any tour is all about equipment failures, lighting snafus, the interviews, no sleep, and serious overwhelming of the vocal cords. I always tell other musicians, if you break a head, or break a string, you.can replace it, vocal chords can't be replaced. Also, for those morning shows, many times the performer had a gig the night before, and who the hell is at their best at 7am, when they've done a gig, and traveled all night to get there, often with no, or limited sleep. I know as a fan myself, that we expect our favorites to sound like they do on the album, but that is just not always possible. Have a heart y'all! !!!
I don't care much for higher notes. Both Mariah and Ariana sound the same in every freaking song they make. They have no variety because they only want to showcase those high notes.
I find a lot of pop artists do this. They find a niche for their vocals to sound the "best" and then stick with it through out 90% of their songs. It really strips their music of any real variation.
TehNinjaFlute I think it's the opposite. A lot of pop artists at least try to have some variety in their songs even with limited vocal ranges. For example, even Britney Spears' songs have some variety when you compare her slower songs with the upbeat ones. Those two just sound literally the same every song. It's incredible how they not get bored of their own vocals. I know a lot of people go crazy over higher notes like "OMG!!!" but I personally think people who can only do or just do higher notes are the most boring musicians ever. They are either limited or limiting themselves. I prefer it when musicians hit lower tones and use mixed vocals without going all high notes. They might not be able to hit all the high notes but at least you would hear some variety in their vocals. Use it once in a while but when you keep using it over and over again in every song, it just gets old really fast.
Mariah does have variety, have you ever heard her earlier songs? She has sang so many genres in her 25 year career from adult contemporary to pop to R&B. She obviously doesn't sound the same in every album.
Something I've noticed about Kelly Clarkson is that she has a much harder time belting when she's heavier. Her voice sounded tired and muffled the entire time she was promoting All I Ever Wanted (when she was heavier), then it sounded like Breakaway when she was promoting Stronger (when she was fit). Now she's heavier again (she's actually pregnant so there's not much she can do about it lol) and her voice has been weaker and muffled since she's been promoting Piece By Piece.
I can't even be mad at this compilation because everyone knows EVERYONE on this list can BLOW! I don't even think most of them are "avoiding failure," just changing up their performances.
Andrei Agreda Mariah doesn't sing off key, she had a bad performance a few years ago she's improved so much, I love Mariah but I'm not stupid. Her voice isn't the same but it's still phenomenal
geeez they are human...They can't always hit those same notes each time. Could be anywhere from a cold to a dry throat. they still all sounded good. :-)
I have no idea why she dodged it. I'm a high baritone and can hit that if I kill my voice and the stars are in perfect alignment. It would sound horrible but I have no business up there, she does.
beyonce didn't dodge anything becuz literally before that section that is shown she's goin up interval by interval. like that's the end of the set. misleading.
I love when singers do this. It kinda reveals their musicality, showing that they can alter the melody to where it's comfortable for them on days they can't hit the big note. Great compilation!
x
This!^
this is exactly what is intended yes someone who gets me
plus like half of these people had babies. after pregnancy your voice goes down.

John Doe yesss for the shade 😂😂
John Doe she does that fr tho i still love her tho
John Doe I think you should sing the sing and let see.
When Demi let the crowd sing and just kept whipping her head around like "I ain't singing that" lmao
Let's go to see when she hits those F5s !!!!!!
mariah has lots of dodge moments but its understandable coz she has the hardest songs
true that
i totally agree
that "dodged" set of notes at 5:10 are higher than the studio version lol
also she has nodes

+PetroleumJellay your comment made my morning ;D
+PetroleumJellay Lmfaoooo
its true..... you made my day wonderful
If you can sing, then you can understand how tough it is hitting those high notes
for some people it comes easy.. you just have to gave the perfect amount of mucus on your vocal folds
+Ellen Degeneres the technique you mean
Beyonce can sing that note. She just sings all her songs differently live. It makes her more of an artist. She can sangggggg and while dancing. it's pretty damn magical
+TheOneAndOnlyTerry shes overrated and lip syncs to different versions of her song
+C “MissCHeart” heart no she's not
+C “MissCHeart” heart If she was lip sync then why does she forget the words, make up new ones, talk to her staff for lighting and stuff on beat?
+C “MissCHeart” heart lmao you again hating? Chill 😂😂
+TheOneAndOnlyTerry And she was pregnant in that video
I don't think Rihanna had a choice with the performance being scaled up. She'd have to hit Eb5 and we know she's gonna struggle like all hell.
Luv RIH but tru asf
She hit the note pretty good at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show but she got lucky cause her voice was dry af that day. Usually she dodges it completely but in that performance the note was raspy so it came out as raw power instead of a resonant belt but still sounded great.

he should have used riri's album she dodges every single note Lmao in every single song lmao

have you heard mariah...
***** I have.. I'm just critiquing that she does not pull off her whistle tones as well as she use to. She's amazing and I love her, I'm not bashing.
Oh I didn't mean you sorry, I meant the person above me.
***** Mariah never strain to say "really often", or she hit the note, or she skip it
Mariah's "Yours" are better with the whistle than the high (screamed) belt.
Screamed??? Ariana fan? Mariah never screams. Maybe sometimes larynx up, but never to the point of screaming.
+Andrey Baldove why did you assume that they were an Ariana fan more Mariah fans hate on Ariana actually
Ariana Slays It's because they troll.
Ariana Slays Still he's wrong.
+Andrey Baldove I'm a major Ariana Stan Ive never trolled

Yeah and working within your human limits and taking care of long term vocal health is also part of their artistry making it still fresh and beautiful
Slayriah slaying Obsessed.
+Thi Hills AGREED
I prefer her changing the always be my baby belts over lipping any time
Perhaps the greatest song ever?
"Slayriah"? I like that
But Ariana has done those notes in Problem live many times. Same with Rihanna, she did it on X Factor. Mariah did the Obsessed notes on AGT.
Christina and Katy dodge notes all the time.
***** Yes and those are barely audible! sounds more like a vocal crack
Rihanna dodged the note from Diamonds because it was transcribed up a whole step, possibly a half step. Meaning the song is higher than usual. christina is just lazy but she did sing upper notes in live believe me ! of course if you don't check her concert lives you cannot see but that's fine for me i'm not a fan of high register really but beyonce is not a pro of the high register too and please don't put christina and katy in the same line grrrr !! like i put ari and mariah
Wow, Ari barely dodges her high notes. glad you were able to find ones.
+bruno calles her mixed voice is not incredible. her mix is too head dominant 😒
junpthenfall0006 Maybe she is pertaining to how Ari has the perfect control over her mixed voice.
Jessika Gaauur exactly!!!!!🐝🐝
not only that she was pregnant during that concert so some notes she might not want to hit.
Jessika Gaauur couldn't have said it better 😎🐝
Jessika Gaauur True!!!!! Love On Top of known for the key changes at each verse. It's common for Bey to bring it lower at a certain verse. It's a statement.
LOL...right....Or her lungs were gasping for air so she took the easier route instead of cracking...whichever reason fits best.
Katy Perry is the queen of dodging big note
Like, how many performances she always avoid those notes in final chorus
And sometimes, even after she took lower note, she was still off-key
Maybe she's not relevant enough to be in this video
Beyonce slayed it. She may miss that big note, yet she still show how powerful and great techniques that she has
+Anthony Alexander Shes the queen of dodging real singing skills.
+Jed Martins LMFAO u right.
+One Original Me and not even a single grammy
+Anthony Alexander
Katy perry can't even sing
hahahahaha
One Original Me ?
While singers dodge high notes when singing live, Taylor Swift dodges every note..
😂😂😂😂😂
what
she dodges them so ahe can practice her sheep impression
+Countrycowboy08 but she acts like she raises every note lol
lmfao😂😂😂😂😂
Clean your damn ears tho Beyonce Sliced Listen to pieces!!
Amen, I'm sick of people hating on Beyoncé.
Uh oh the beehive is buzzing lol
The point isn't to say she messed up lol. She just dodged the note.
+GotBigDreams but what note tho? The entire thing was spot on?
+tuberlicious05 Uh okay.. Go listen to your favourite penguin shelter "Igloo" aka Iggy. Lol
um, it would probably damage their vocal cords to hell if they attempted to hit the high notes every time they performed one of these difficult to sing songs. they still sound good regardless, especially beyonce.
free somebody Lisa
to be honest nobody should give them crap for dodging a big note once in a while because they sing like 24/7 every day and have tours, recordings, practicing sessions.
Alex ContoGray Honey, what she does is dodge
As a performer, I can say that it is impossible for your voice to always be at your maximum capacity during concerts. Even when you're not sick, there are days when your voice just does not feel right and it would be highly dangerous to go for the high notes and it is why we work around them during some of our live performances. But when we feel great, then we're going to land every single high note that we have to make the best show that we possibly can for the audience and ourselves.
beyonce did a great job to her live performance..
sometimes singer put some twist of there songs
for live performance..
I didn't realise an artist HAS to perform every song to studio standard when singing it live.
@@Hakakuno exactly
Beyonce's notes where not dodged she purposely just changes the arrangement before hand
but changing the arrangement is... dodging
aaron newman it wasn’t dodged, she sang it a few seconds after
After watching the Beyonce part, you are getting a big ass thumbs down. Yonce doesn't need to dodge shit. She is usually taking things up in concert. She NEVER performs a song the same way twice.
💯
True every single performance of her is different and comes with knew intertaining things
Agreed.. A lot of singers like to change notes in a song. Katy does it all the time, which I love. When a singer sings the song the exact same way every time it gets boring. Ariana grande was like that for a while but recently started changing her notes which I'm glad for
Tell it!!!!
love Beyonce to death..... but love on top pregnant version and 4 performance was the very same
beyonce's love on top dodge was reasonable. I mean have you try to dance while being pregnant and have to do multiple overtunes?
On both of Beyonce's performances she already sang the high part (love on top) and was going to go into that (listen)
We obviously know that Ariana can hit those notes tho lol she's just trying to save her angelic voice
+Lion O'Nrun then can you explain why Mariah lip syncs basically all the time now? Mariah is the only fucking lazy one lol
+Lion O'Nrun um Ariana is actually a lead writer on many of her songs
+Joshua Blackwood so? Not everyone's gonna write all their songs
+Lion O'Nrun excuse me?? Don't call me stupid and go back to arguing about Mariah and Ariana and see who's stupid then sis bye bye
I was saying the same thing !!! like going into whistle register isn't dodging hunnyy lmaooooo, bitch took that note an octave up!!!!!!
Not dodged but slayed lmao
U try belting g5s every second it's really hard
Demi deserves more respect
Yesss she does and those were mostly old performances she sounds like an angel live :3
more like shout
+scorch7777777 no u don't get it ur voice would be tired if u belt 1100000 G5 in a row
+Jesse Shirley I'm saying more like shouting because she shouts
Shit I'd dodge those fucking rifts too. Rather play it safe than having people making videos of me sucking and fucking up notes. Lol
at 4:23 the playback kicks in and at 4:27 Mariah puts her hand out and shakes it to tell the audio engineer to turn it off because she wants to sing it by herself.
Mariah and Beyoncé slayyyy😍😍😍😍
That note in Diamonds by Rihanna isn't even high
***** I obviously listened to her rift. It's not high
Ariana Snider right
Ariana Snider lmao right 😂
Ariana Snider by sia
It's just a D5. For Rihanna - it's high and difficult, but it's cause her technique isn't good at all. D5 for a female - it's mid-belt, not too difficult
so Beyonce has no flaws in the videos you showed me.
If i was a singer id 'dodge' notes just to change the song up a bit to make it interesting which i think a lot of these artists did also
Sometimes they are not dodging. Singers are known to change their vocal arrangements for live performances.
Xtina, JHud & Mimi Still Slay!
Um, Mariah doesn't . She sucks now . And she's boring on stage .
+LeaMiele
/watch?v=WmmpzNCCsgE You're argument is invalid
most of them dodge them to stop their voice damaging, like brendon urie, he sings some songs live in a lower key to avoid damaging his voice :)
Ariana, Christina, Mariah, Demi & Jennifer Hudson always sounds better in live
Almost all of them what they did is change the tone but they all sounded perfectly
Ariana just do that sometimes because she likes to changes notes but she CAN rise high notes
+Blanca J. González Yes. She likes note changes and kills them.
+Blanca J. González exatcly
+Blanca J. González she does do that often, but here wasn't the case lol.
But why would she change the note to a less impressive note? You can tell when a singer is dodging a note when they lower the key suddenly and add random riffs/runs to compensate and might later on try to add higher notes to make up for the missed note.
everyone knows bey and ari can hit those
Well, it's THEIR notes after all.
Emily Prentiss + everyone else on this list tbh ^ agreed with the comment above
The Beyoncé love on top dodge sounds so good tho
Josie jean coz it wasn't a dodge. Sounds great though
With the love on top one, I'm pretty sure that was AFTER she did the high note... And I've seen her live and she did it for us
Mariah's were clever...
Mariah dodges a lot, but she does it so creatively that you don't miss it most of the time. Pure skill.
3:41 holy cow!! i was not expecting that....
that is one attractive specie. 6:55
Hahaha dats hawt
I can be your specie anytime, daddy. 😉👅👅
I love that "Not DODGED!" at 3:53 hahaha
You forget that many of these singers are dancing too while performing, they can't hit the same notes then.
Very good point! There are many differences to studio work and live performances...
i love when they dodge certains notes it adds extra flavour to the songs as long as it is not systematic but concerning xtina it always blend very well :)
***** Of course!
Nice video. I like to see how singers, when live, creatively get around notes that require their all on one of their vocally unstretched days.
Demi, Jennifer, and Beyonce sounds good . The rest of them.....ehh
Poti Yeah, she sounds good too.
MICKI .G Mariah though? :o a queen.. those whistles.
Mariah sounds better than all of them, let’s not.
Jennifer doesnt sound to good tho, shes great but in this clip she sounds too screechy for me, they did her dirty
I'm glad you picked very talented singers because we all know they'll normally slay the day.
How dare y'all put Beyoncé on here she could hit that note in her sleep.. she didn't dodge anything 🙄
She was 😂😂
You make really good videos! :D
I'd be happy to have HALF of the voice power these ladies have... =)
even though its a adrenaline rush let down to fans that a certain anticipated note was not hit by the singer alot of times they may not do it all the time not only for comfortably but also for vocal health reasons constantly hitting thoes notes can sometimes take a toll on the vocal cords so it may be alot safer for them to hit that range/note every so often... either way they still were able to vocally kill it live either way
HOW ARE YOU GONNA SAY MARIAH DODGED YOURS WHEN SHE LITERALLY SANG IN WHISTLE TONE
say what about you her technique, christina’s dodges are amazing bc she’s so good at improvisation/ad libs
Beyonce pregnant in her love on top performance and still slaying your fave.
Any questions?
Don't forget Adele's Someone Like You "Don't forget me, i beg" part, she ALWAYS dodges that note, I don't know if there is any live performance she sang that note (except carpool karaoke)
+Oliver Crinis Great, just one or two days after that comment she did it for the first time at the Wiltern in LA 😂
Mariah in her prime could hit all those notes easily as breath
Rihanna didn't dodge the note to avoid failure, she changed the tone of almost the entire song. It was a beautiful performance. Rih Slay!
People NEED to see Ariana's high notes on be my baby. This was the only show she didn't hit the high note on honeymoon tour
Gabriel Carvalho right
The one note I get annoyed by her ALWAYS dodging it, is Christina Aguilera in "Hurt" when she sings "[I would] tell you how much I miss you since you been away..." during the bridge. I respect she doesn't even go near it and therefore ad-libs like how a good singer should, but it's my favorite part and have heard covers of others doing it great.
She was more focusing on showing emotions, so she dont focus on hitting it. Because if she does, she'll have a problem. Maybe she's hesitating that it would fail because she was more on emotion
i love how gaga isnt on here... CAUSE SHE HITS EVERY NOTE
Variety? Okay. Let's act like Vision of Love wasn't a thing.
Mariah does have variety, have you ever heard her earlier songs? She has sang so many genres in her 25 year career from adult contemporary to pop to R&B. She obviously doesn't sound the same in every album.
Demi strained her voice hella bad in "Get Back" in the studio version already lol I love her, but damn, her voice is SO much better now!
1:43-1:48 The girl in the backgrounds face changed. She legit went from smiling to dissapointed lol.
It's not dodging all the time. It's not safe for their voices to hit the high notes everytime
right
Something I've noticed about Kelly Clarkson is that she has a much harder time belting when she's heavier.
Xtina, Beyonce and Mariah! The Best!
I can't even be mad at this compilation because everyone knows EVERYONE on this list can BLOW! I don't even think most of them are "avoiding failure," just changing up their performances.
Mariah's been signing for YEARS, so I get it but idk what Ariana's excuse is 🐸☕️
Anthony Garcia she's so small/young to carry such vocals, but she always serve 😉
Anthony Garcia she also doesn't want her voice to sound like mariah today ☕️ with that damaged voice
Anthony Garcia don't forget Ariana dances while singing too 😉
Anthony Garcia everybody is getting tired though. Ariana's a human too.
Andrei Agreda Mariah doesn't sing off key, she had a bad performance a few years ago she's improved so much, I love Mariah but I'm not stupid. Her voice isn't the same but it's still phenomenal
Also, I’m glad you don’t hear me recording vs. my “live” performances... 😂😂😂 you’re pretty rough on alll of them!
Xtina's Dodges are still what bitches dream to achieve!
omg i love your videos !!! amazing !!! I live demiiiiiiiiiiiiii
And I'm pretty sure that Beyonce doesn't NEED to dodge a note..she slays everything
geeez they are human...They can't always hit those same notes each time. Could be anywhere from a cold to a dry throat. they still all sounded good. :-)
we all knew Rihanna wasn't able to hit that note.... lol
Drugs are talent destroyers, indeed. Well, not that there was any talent to begin with... Catching my drift?
+Hector Älfvåg yes I caught it LMAOOO 😂😭
I have no idea why she dodged it. I'm a high baritone and can hit that if I kill my voice and the stars are in perfect alignment. It would sound horrible but I have no business up there, she does.
Rihanna is on tour now and she hit every hit in all her songs when she was in dc
Now she can do it !!! And she slay it
Meanwhile in the car --> honest effort; sounding like we swallowed a lit cigarette bud and chased it with burnt hot coffee.
beyonce didn't dodge anything becuz literally before that section that is shown she's goin up interval by interval. like that's the end of the set. misleading.
