It's beyond awful that they argued that Pam lost her right to keep her private videos private because she's appeared nude in Playboy. They're essentially arguing that a woman, any woman, who consent to sex once loses her right to say no in the future.
Exactly! That a woman's virginity status, or "giving up" her virginity fundamentally changes her state of being. You're either a woman who "does" or "doesn't" have sex - this ideology reduces women from complex, real human beings to dolls that have been taken out of their plastic seals (and takes away their ability to withdraw and/or withhold consent after having sex).
I said exactly this about Rihana. Just because you consent to S&M doesn’t mean you’re consenting to be abused. The difference is *consent*. In S&M, both people know what they’re going to do & agree to it. Being punched isn’t S&M

When is "Sloppy looking woman with hot man" going to become a trend? It's like it's illegal for women to not look just as good or better than their male partner, while men don't really have to care at all...
When men start liking such women. So far, women like different things from men. The bad boy, sloppy asshole is something many younger women like. The sort of beautiful, androgynous, bad boy has been a fantasy of many women.
Misogyny is still very much alive. We still don’t view Pamela as a person even though we give men countless do overs. Tommy can still have a career but because the bombshell that was Pam Anderson in the 90s is non existent since she’s 50 now. I still think she’s hot. Women deserve better
Tommy's still got a career because He's talented and because of nostalgia, Pam was an actress who couldn't act that's why Her career fizzled out long before She hit 50. JFC some of the people in this comment section are insufferable with their virtue signaling.
@@pycellesbeard9728 I bet you didn’t know Pam Anderson befriended the greatest journalist of our lifetime Julian Assange. Why does she have to do the same thing her whole life? Everyone deserves their humanity whether we find them talented. I throughly enjoyed Pam Anderson in scooby doo so you can just poo poo away
I’m shocked that Tommy lee’s abuse was not brought up here. The fact that the tapes came out without Pamela’s consent and then this new show came out without her consent - is so sad. Also, the show painting Tommy as the abusive criminal he is is misleading and irresponsible
They didn’t need her consent but they did right by her - they accurately portrayed the hell she went through. They didn’t lie or downplay the stress or hell she endured
It’s almost like there should be a video about how tattoos make people stereotype you. Travis Barker and Pete Davidson don’t scream bad boys in any way then they have tattoos. Travis was always the silent drummer who wasn’t flashy, loud, or dramatic. Pete is funny and in touch with his emotions. Tattoos being viewed in this light, of being taboo and only being on rebels or criminals, is why places still get away with having discriminating blanket tattoo policies. They wouldn’t be so weird and sign troublemaker if you saw your teacher or librarian with them (and they do, they’re just forced to cover them up).
Or colored hair discrimination policies as well. A bunch of people I work with have tattoos and color their hair, we are supposed to wear tattoo sleeves and use hair nets to cover up the colorful hair, but nobody does it. So should only one person get punished if nobody else is following policy?
I agree with this. My father has tattoos from when he was with the navy - it was not until I reached school that I realised people viewed him as a biker rather than a veteran. It was a learning curve on how people perceive others.
I think the point was the tattoos make them more “alternative” compared to the muscular-clean-cut-Superman-hunk types. But I agree with what you’re saying.
Lord, I felt so awful for Pam in that clip from the Howard Stern Show at 7:47. They all start talking about it--- not even the sex stuff--- and she IMMEDIATELY looks uncomfortable.
It genuinely made me feel so sick. Stern is bringing up a really intimate and private moment between Pam and Tommy only to tell a visibly uncomfortable Pam, yeah I really got my rocks off to that. Disgusting.
I've hated Howard Stern since he made some really vile comments about Palestinians, but now that I know he's also a creep who enjoyed watching Pam and Tommy's sex tape without their consent makes me hate him even more. Absolute POS.
I was waiting for this comment! How are you just gonna sit there and talk about your favorite parts of a video you weren’t even suppose to know it existed? “Oh I like when you did this and Tommy did that” You shouldn’t know that. This video has been out for years and I haven’t seen it to this day cause I feel so bad for Pam. This is twice now where that tape has come out without her consent. And whenever people talk to Pam it’s only two things: 1) About her tape. 2) how hot she is- anything past that no one really asks.

These people working for it are getting used, abused and stolen their free will. A lot, more than you would think, are victims of human trafficking. Respect the people, hate the industry. What I would give to destroy it, but it will never happen. Also sexual dissatisfaction is no excuse for sa.
I would have wished to hear Pam's story. And Tommy's too. Making this series withOUT their consultation/consent is like violating their privacy again. Despicable.
I kinda agree, this beauty and the "beast" kind of narrative really makes them into an object and is just superficial judgement of the women. Maybe the attractive girls in these relationships are "bad" or rocker too, yet just attractive. What the media might be failing to understand is that they are more than just pretty, and even if others can't see under the surface, they see themselves that way.
I don't know if that's the intention, or the final product. It doesn't seem like that's what it is from what I've watched. It is a story worth telling, because women go through this today and can identify with Pam's character on the show. However, Pam has every right to not want to be involved, she has every right to feel like it's horrible because it retells a part of her life that was painful, stressful, and where she probably felt helpless against the privacy violations and exploitation that she underwent. I hope to God Disney somehow manages to make it up to her. The thing is, this is clearly not a money issue, and she is genuinely pained by the fact that a version of what happened is now being retold . I can tell when Pamela and Paris talk about their tapes that it really hurt them and that they definitely didn’t put it out themselves. I’m not so sure with Kim. She says her family was humiliated by it but her emotions on her face don’t align with what she’s saying. Maybe I’m wrong
True the emotion is definitely not there when Kim talks about it. Sometimes that’s a trauma response though. When terrible things happen to people its not uncommon to suppress or separate their emotions/self from the event. It’s a survival response so they don’t have to revisit the pain. Considering Kim’s father dying and her narcissistic mother I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s well versed in numbing and separating herself from her feelings. Love this channel and loved this video, but… it’s funny how you guys failed to mention Whitney & Bobby, Diana Ross & Gene Simmons, Rihanna & ASAP Rocky, Beyoncé and Jay-Z… Lauren London with Lil Wayne…..beautiful, black women who also fit that archetype of the glamour girl with the edgy and/or bad boy type. Also.. Toni Braxton & Birdman… 😌
None of those men are famously "bad guy rockers", except for Gene Simmons, but his 3 year long relationship with Ross ended in the late 70's, and therefore isn't really relevant today. This video explicitly talks about the "(in)famous bad guy rocker with famous pretty girlfriend" trope, and I personally don't remember a single couple of such international fame, which fills that trope and the woman is black. The only couple I could MAYBE think of would be Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet, but he was never an "overly tattooed bad guy", and she was never portrayed as a "bimbo", so that wouldn't fit either, just like your narrative.
How about "stable good guy falls for the rebell creative bad girl and heals her childhood trauma through their relationship and she DOESN'T change into the female version of him just becomes a better version of herself and he adopts some of her quirks and they have a Sphynx cat and babies" - A movie. 2022. and still waiting.
This is essentially the manic pixie trope expect she isn’t dark and rocker but she IS spontaneous, creative and even unpredictable and in the end helps the normally plain guy get out his comfort zone and become a better version of himself… so 500 days of summer if summer wore dark eyeliner and protested the government

Maybe for the rest but as for myself I have been sick of the whole "hot girl wants a Bad boy" hype for decades now especially with younger viewers applying this to fictional characters also (anyone remember the good girl Elsa X bad boy Jack Frost that was everywhere a few years back?). I wouldn't mind this if we saw equal of that with Bad girls X Good boys but it's ALWAYS the whole Bad boy type stuff that still gets shown everywhere despite that we are supposed to live in a post MeToo era. The message is still that a "Bad Boy" can change if the girl puts up with his abuse and negligence Or that she's "Rebelling" against the system by dating what mom and dad hate while also rejecting the "boring and stable" guy (looking at you Reality Bites) to supposedly avoid living a "conformist" life whatever that means..... never mind that the bad boy choice usually always ends up being stuck in a loveless marriage, pregnant and a hellhole house littered with garbage in your typical Lifetime movie 😖.
I though the MeToo movement was about respecting women’s liberties, it was never about creating a cultural shift in what some women find desirable or attractive. This just comes across as being patronising and self righteous towards women who like or date “bad boys”. I don’t think what you said about bad boys boys is inaccurate I just don’t get the need to preach how unlike “those women” you don’t like bad boys. It’s not exactly empathetic or respectful.
In post MeToo era "bad boy" is nothing, but a rude, entitled asshole. In the episode where both characters are in Mexico, Tommy shows up in a restaurant and cusses at the security (not sure who that man was, but not the point) for telling him that the place has a dress-code. I can't imagine who would find that attractive in 2021. But you have to remember that even spousal abuse was not treated as something unnormal. I remember being a child in the 90s (not in US, just to be clear) and reading about P&T in the magazines and the narrative was like "that's just how rockstars live". Same with movie stars too, btw, whenever they trashed hotel rooms or had violent public fights or was abusive towards women, everything was waved off because they were talented and famous and so rules for "regular" people didn't apply to them.
The damaging aspects of this trope. Is that it implies that having tattoos, and being a rocker = bad/rebel. You can be a bad/rebel and wear a 3-piece suit.
Yeah, imagine talking about a "white trash" way of speaking in front of the person who was one of the people speaking there and the one who was hurt the most from the invasion of privacy that you've also perpetuated. People don't have any type of shame
I dont see how travis is being labeled as a bad boy just because of his alternative personal style. Hes always been artistic, chill/laidback family man (even for Atiana even though shes not his biological daughter) that makes his music.
Also I always laugh at the concept that there was anything edgy about Blink-182s music, I'd never label them as rock stars! Apart from heavy reverb guitar and high energy drums their sound was very pop-y and their lyrics were mostly about very mild middle class teenage struggles.

Most of these "Bad Boys" when they are young yes they act out. But when they themselves have kids and most of them genuinely are trying to be good role models for them because they probably didn't have those role models growing up as well. I honestly think being open about their pasts was a good things as well.

Kim did put it out herself tho. The contracts are there. But definitely Pam and Tommy's was not released legally. Kim profited greatly from the sex tape. And Ray J came out to confirm it with all the contracts.
I hate how people still bring up the tape in interviews with her. Revenge porn is such a degrading thing and it nearly destroyed her. I get so uncomfortable because you can clearly tell she is uncomfortable whenever it comes up.
I usually agree with 'The Take' but not this time. Putting Pete Davidson down as a bad boy when he has substantially cleaned up his act and even has gone through the painful process of getting rid of most of his tattoos is uncalled for. And ignoring the true bad boy in Kim Kardashian's life- her ex Kanye. Kanye is controlling and manipulative. He forced her to throw out all her clothes and can't take 'no' for an answer. I'm glad she's with someone who lets her be herself. Pete Davidson is a dorky good-natured goofball. Seems ridiculous to group him with the others

Because I think not.
Disgusting.
totally agree. i can't stand howard stern, he's such a complete pos. that was what his show was all about, drag a woman out and poke her with sticks.
I've hated Howard Stern since he made some really vile comments about Palestinians, but now that I know he's also a creep who enjoyed watching Pam and Tommy's sex tape without their consent makes me hate him even more. Absolute POS.
That was so incredibly disgusting.

You shouldn’t know that. This video has been out for years and I haven’t seen it to this day cause I feel so bad for Pam. This is twice now where that tape has come out without her consent. And whenever people talk to Pam it’s only two things: 1) About her tape. 2) how hot she is- anything past that no one really asks.

I kinda agree, this beauty and the "beast" kind of narrative really makes them into an object and is just superficial judgement of the women.
Re-experiencing trauma, essentially, that's both difficult and unfair.

I can tell when Pamela and Paris talk about their tapes that it really hurt them and that they definitely didn’t put it out themselves. I’m not so sure with Kim. She says her family was humiliated by it but her emotions on her face don’t align with what she’s saying. Maybe I’m wrong
Thinking she's the only one who actually did it on purpose.

Look at your the worse for example. Wasn't one of the female characters having an affair cuz she felt like she was trapped
It's not like that really, it's more like .. they're people.
LOUDER. Women are not rehabilitation centers for men
In post MeToo era "bad boy" is nothing, but a rude, entitled asshole.

Enough with the trope! I'm seriously dying for a jungle girl-soldier/island girl-sailor match!!!
the title should be more respectful i think
How?
Love how pamela dresses
Wow. Didn't realize this was a thing, until pointed out in this video ●__● *Bella & the vampire, Anastasia & the freaky rich man with the dark past* ... also! Anastasia the lost princess & Dmitri the con artist. Princess Jasmine & Aladdin the street rat. So this is a thing, wow
Rapunzel (the innocent girl who had never been outside) and Flynn rider (the thief)
@@Willow-cw9te wow 🙆🤣🤣
Hahahahahha how can The Take forget about Dennis Rodman and Carmen Electra??
Y’all forgot Whitney and Bobby! Tragic story!😢
Wait so is this what Sk8er Boi was about 😅
Lol Avril Lavigne... Such a long time ago
Kim did put it out herself tho. The contracts are there. But definitely Pam and Tommy's was not released legally. Kim profited greatly from the sex tape. And Ray J came out to confirm it with all the contracts.
Pam also has a Tape with Brett Michaels probably one with kid rock as well
I hate how people still bring up the tape in interviews with her.
I call this relationship the Hostess and Line Cook Romance
I saw the title and was like oh what y’all know about Martin but then saw the picture idk why I set myself up like that
Howard Stern is weird as hell. The way their all talking about her tape right in front of her like jeez you could tell she was so uncomfortable
That was from a time when humans weren't snowflakes about EVERYTHING under the sun, even Pam Herself jokes about the tape, if it makes you feel better Stern is now Woke and gets triggered with the best of them.
Uncomfortable about the questions but very comfortable with her sexy see through top, very big boob's with nipples to match.
She's so sexy!
I cant believe relationships are trends....like how sad...
That recording of George Clooney at 12:20 ish happened in sept 2021??
I find it hard to believe anyone's life is so empty these days that they'd sill care about celebrity culture.
I hardly think Kourtney is a Barbie doll.
Yeah, she’s more like a blowup doll….
How can they not include Dita Von Teese and Marilyn Manson in this video.
Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown fit this trope as well.
I would like to stretch out this conversation to include Sean Penn & Madonna, Sandra Bullock & Jesse James, Michel'le & Dr. Dre, Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown, Demri & Layne Staley (low profile couple),...
Ok, let's just admit most of these relationships are clearly publicity stunts.
The assumption isn’t that the public has access to celeb’s bodies - it’s that they have access to famous women’s bodies.
In fairness to MGK and Megan Fox, MGK played Tommy in The Dirt so Tommy have a lil bit influence on him switching from Rap to Rock and also Romance.
Weird that y’all didn’t bring up Bobby and Whitney or Rodman and Elektra.
So Tommy Lee has had 2 portrayals of him in film. One in the Motley Crue biopic and now in Pam and Tommy. MGK has the height and build of Tommy, but doesn't sound, act, or look like him. Sebastian Stan in Pam & Tommy, looks more like Tommy, but looks much shorter to me. Despite Google saying their both in the same height range. Stan definitely doesn't try to have that "surfer dude" Californian accent that Tommy has.
Hmmm I would never call Pete Davidson a "tattooed bad boy" he's a tattooed very nice guy.
i think many people forget tommy was abusive towards pamela and that is the case in many of these relationships that many people don't like to talk about
