    "I'm not a professional solar installer." then proceeds to put together one of the most professional installs on youtube.

      Thanks Buddy. I am about 2 videos ahead of what I am posting right now. Just finished putting together the battery box. Now I have to vent it and wire it up. I'll be watching your crimping videos to brush up before I get started.

      Cool beans! Good to see you're doing it the right way first. With the crimping videos...found using crimps only (no solder) the best. Those big hydraulic crimpers are the bomb!

    Hi David, thanks for sharing this video. Anyway my question is what is the purpose of having two inverter A/C and D/C and there functions?

    • @HomesteadEngineering
      @HomesteadEngineering  4 года назад

      These inverters convert 48Vdc from the battery bank into 120/240 ac that is used by the house loads. Each inverter provides 4400 watts and I have two so I can get 8800 Watts of continuous power. I could add up to two more inverters. Thanks!

    what all is included when you buy the magnum panels did it come with the wires and you just had to connect them. Or do you have to buy the cable to interconnect everything? im looking into a dual PAE 4448 inverter system and would like to know what all i need to plan for.

      Darksky, pause this video at about 0:07 seconds. The two panels you see with breakers and wire are how they were shipped.
      I suggest you watch my parts list video:

      I suggest you watch the entire series, I go over the entire process from start to finish:

      Good luck!

    Great work thanks for filming everything for us it really is educational. Are you an electrician by trade or did you have to learn how all the wiring and where it all goes.

      tickpicker, I am not an electrician. I do have some "other" experience and I watched a lot of videos and read all the manuals 2-3 times. I am an over planner, I spend a lot of time thinking through each project but it usually pays off.
      Thanks!

    What is the name of the torque screwdriver you are using. I have a torque wrench but can't seem to find a screwdriver version. You were using the screwdriver when wiring the breakers.
    Super nice job by the way.
