I first attended Mankato State College back in 1970. Yes, I'm that old. After the first year, I had to drop out because I lacked finances. My plan was to work for a year and then return to college. In that year off, I got a letter from my favorite Uncle. Uncle Sam. Back then, there was a military draft. I had a low draft number.
Long story short, I ended up spending 26 years in the Army. I later got a degree in Computer Science. Today, I am retired. I volunteer at my local VA Hospital, where I work directly with our hospitalized veterans.

I've got an MBA there in 1984. Almost 40 years have gone since then. And I never come back to MSU. Mankato State is now Minnesota State. Mankato was cold and had a long winter. I am missing MSU a lot. I remember many corns, wide lands, St. Peter, Green Giant Factory, Mankato Radio Station, lakes, mosquitos, Albatross bar, Mall, Lutheran churches, Swedish and German villages, Minnesota Viking's training at MSU, etc. I forgot school dorms' names. What are they? They seem to name after famous people. My young day's memory is sweet.

Some more in mind: Learning Skill Center, International Student Office, Mac Elroy Dorm, Mankato Airport, Study rooms under dorm building, Driving test office, Stadium, School library and fountains, School kitchens and dish washing etc. People were very friendly. 12 Korean students at that time.

My dad used to work here as a vendor for the vending machines he had a lot of machines now he works somewhere else and he has less machines but he gets payed more. Big oof

It would be interesting to know what percentage of the adjunct faculty and TAs had health care during Covid and what the university did to help them on that as the inspiring music and visuals makes it look like a liberal progressive institution. At any rate, well done.
