    This does not work reason
    1. Sata (data) does not have a power rail, it has 3 gnd pins and 4 data pins, all the power is managed by the Sata ATA power connector that sends 12v, 5v and 3.3v
    2. The sata cable end doesnt even have colored cables to indicate which cables are linked to which pins, both making it harder to follow and understand what he is doing and not really proving that you are connecting the correct cables together

      Also if U ever open up any, and I mean any USB to sata converter you will see an IC, the main point of that IC is to convert the different communication protocols. Sata uses AHCI and usb uses quiet a few others but NOT AHCI

    I don't know why people think this is fake. He is basically creating a usb 2.0 cable. Sata has 7 pins, 3 are ground. The usb-c 2.0 4-pin is power, ground, and d+/d-. The only way to see if this is wrong would be to understand what he is connecting it to.
