  • In this video, I go over how to train a pit bull puppy in the sit and down command. These obedience commands are important for pit bulls or any dog breed because they can save lives and come in handy in dangerous situations. Dog training is important, so training the sit-down and lay-down commands is a lot easier to train as a puppy because it builds the foundation of having a very obedient dog.

    Idk man, I've never had issues teaching dogs basic commands.
    So far I've taught my Pitt puppy Diesel up, down, left, right, lay, sit, paw, drop it, give it, go get it, no, yes, come, be nice.
    We are working on stay, potty training, and no bite. The stay command will be easiest to teach but not a priority right now.
    He still pees on the floor once in a while or on his bed and I'm staying super consistent trying to establish a routine. If I could just get him to signify he needs to potty then I'd be able to get him fully house broken, we are crate training him.
    The no bite has been working for the most part. However Diesel is still teething and we got him toys. Occasionally he wants to gnaw on my hands and I don't like that. So we are working on establishing what he can chew on and what he isn't allowed to. This is where the no command and toy command come into play.
    Also I never had to leash train him, he has a harness and he walks perfectly.

    I'm so glad I found your channel I've rescuing two 6-week-old pitbull puppies. And all around our area pitbulls are not allowed so I'm going to keep them. I have one Pitbull already and an Anatolian Shepherd but I've never tried to train two puppies at the same time so I'm watching your videos to strengthen what I've already did with Darcy my pitbull who is six years old.

      I use the gentle leader. It has a strap over the nose. I use a negative sound as the voice command and a tug just hard enough to break her eye-lock. That usually works really well with mine. But there is no way I can walk her on a regular collar, she'd drag me thru everything. Lol she is suuuuuper strong. Lol. I've thought about getting her a dog sled harness and hook it to my wheelchair, but I'm not sure how to steer a dog that's chasing a squirrel. Lol 😆 😆 😆

    i have a question about potty training! i have. 12-13 week old APBT puppy that i have to leash to take potty because our property only has a partial fence. i take her out multiple times a day, and within 30 minutes every time she finishes eating. but she refuses to go walk away from me when we go outside, even if i stand out there with her for 30+ minutes. she keeps going potty in her crate and it’s such a pain to clean up every morning/night! how do i help her gain confidence to walk away from me to go potty when we are outside? i’ve tried throwing treats into the grass to lure her out or even walking into the grass with her, but she always wants to stay on the sidewalk. please help😭 -a very tired dog mom

    Are pitbulls nice dogs?

    • @WorlD80096
      @WorlD80096 3 месяца назад

      Yes pitbulls can be nice dog, there is a stereotype on pitbulls that classify them as aggressive and untrainable but the truth is far from that, the term pitbull is classified as different breeds such as: American Pitbull terrier, American Staffordshire terrier, Staffordshire Bull terrier, pitbull mixes, bull terrier, and American bully's other dogs that can be classified as pitbulls are dogo argentinos, the Scott type American bulldog and more, also not all dogs attacks are reported from other breeds that's why the bite statistics are so high but why is that.
      There's only one true pitbull which is the American Pitbull terrier which was bred for bull bating, bear bating, and dog fighting which is where their "aggressiveness* comes from but the truth is that pitbulls are not naturally aggressive (no dog breed is), they don't have the strongest bite force, and they don't have a lock jaw (canines in general don't have a lock jaw)
      Yes American pitbull terriers along with some other breeds or bred to be dog aggressive but never human aggressive, back when bull bating and bear bating and dog fighting was legal they were handled by different people throughout the whole situation no matter what condition if a American pitbull attack or went after someone was not bred and was killed immediately but why do pitbulls attack.
      At the end of the day it really depends on the owner, if you don't socialize your pitbull or any dog breed they will most likely attack someone's dog, cat, or child. Also if you plan to get a puppy (this is also why I like breeders but I'm not against shelters or rescues) know the parents and there temperament, two aggressive parents will make aggressive puppies.
      Know the bloodline, some dog breeds have bloodline which is basically they were bred to do specific things, like one blood line could've been used for dog fighting and another could've been used for hunt, either way know what you're getting yourself into.
      Mental health, just like humans animals can suffer through mental health problems which they could be in pain or just suddenly snap without reason is a huge sign to take them to the vet.
      At the end of the day all dogs have the potential to be aggressive whether it's a pitbull or a Labrador or golden retriever they can all be aggressive, each dog has their own individual personalities so just because golden retrievers are known to be loving and love everybody not all golden retrievers feel that way so it's important to understand your dog's personality and if your dog starts showing signs of aggression whether older or puppy correct it immediately, other reasons on a dog attacks on humans could be resource guarding, food aggression, pent up excitement, also think about if your getting a high energy dog or dogs with hunting or dog fighting backgrounds and with prey drive if you have a smaller dog, a dog of the same sex, or smaller animals. Pitbulls are good dogs if raises right
