These guys are always so good every single video I see of them live. True rockstars if those are a thing. Getting the publicity of a pop act but can play their instruments well and sing well live.
Not necessarily better, but definely ahead on the excitement front, if only though being a lot higher tempo and raw-er than RB: ruclips.net/video/So-yZjdHnK8/видео.html :)
They're different styles, DFA is heavily distorted to a point where it doesn't even sound like a bass, which obviously means they're gonna be less accessible at a public level.
Months ago, Mike said that they were not comfortable to play How Did We Get So Dark alive. He said that they prefer to practice a little more instead of playing it in a bad way. It seems like they're comfortable now.
Great performance ! Saw you in Leicester quite a few years back, only played 7 songs before the first album but a great show . So glad to see how far you've come x
From what i heard is the reason they only play it on rare occasions is because the singer finds it difficult to play the song while singing. And shit i learned the song on guitar and found a new respect for royal blood
He did it though. Back in may in Amsterdam I think and didn't fail either... He's a beast :D But it was unnecessary difficulty added, way better the way it is now
Yeah I tried, and it is. While out of the black is quite simple, this one, despite it's similar structure is complicated. You can see that he only starts singing after some notes in the beginning, probably to get into it.
@@gabeaddisonmusic I know he plays through an octaved bass :) just like to say guitar as they’re practically the same thing and still gets the point across
I suppose you are talking about the recording and mixing. Well, since Kerr is using multiple amps with different voicing, and adding two chorists to the vocal part, that makes it kind of a full band to record.
gaia38ant i wishi could see you do a two man band with so many moving parts and pedals to remember and voice overs and shit would be entertaining watching you struggle like you probably do in your shit house and work in a shoe shine factory you waste of space
Background singers? You kiddin me boys? On the road to being sellouts. Just let the record company tell you how you should sound, dress, and conduct interviews. You guys are a product now. Just sell, dont worry about dignity.
Are you kidding? It's nearly impossible to play the new songs without back up singers... Mike played HDWGSD live a few times in may this year and struggled a lot singing and playing at the same time. Even in their interviews they say the new songs are insanely difficult, that's why they put them into their shows so late. It's only logical to do it this way
Bruh when they came first came on the scene, that shit was raw, brand new sound people werent accustomed to, thats what everyone, including me loved about this band. Now, with those singers, you lose that element, you're no longer edgy. You are officially mainstream. You are a product.
rick D it's either singers or samples......backing singers doesn't mean anything..... It just means that u can achieve a fuller sound like on the record without sacrificing any energy and playability..... Still all sounds u hear r created live in front of u.....dont see ur point here
rick D Their first album was already a product. Tickets to their gigs have always been a product. They provide the service of playing live to please as many fans as possible. Both albums are sick. Seen them live few weeks back. The backing vocalists just filled a few little gaps. Edgelord.
Jack isanorangutan still gotta disagree. Death from above, white stripes, 2 piece bands that did and still kick ass, without using backups to get a more commercial sound.
This band is a Legend, already
Really, they give a hope that real ROCK'N'ROLL still lives and will live forever!
L Lawliet best new rock band
Kai kinda been a thing since late 2013 :/
@@trogwhisperer earlier than that even, try 2011-2012
This band will be a legend
I agree 😊
it already is
Erick Muñoz I think you mean is
This band is a legend already
I️ wasn’t sold on this band until I️ saw them live open for Queens of the Stone Age. Now their magic has been revealed to me
Eagle of Death Metal Welcome to the club
These guys are always so good every single video I see of them live. True rockstars if those are a thing. Getting the publicity of a pop act but can play their instruments well and sing well live.
Also, that snare top and tom bottom mics are not loud enough.
2:22 I didn’t know Robert De Niro was a fan of Royal Blood
2:49 homie in the audience actually knows how to show he likes the music
Best British band about right now and best 2 piece since The White Stripes by far. Love these guys.
You forgot Death From Above 1979 ;)
Charlie Lord not bad, find Royal Blood's sound much more interesting and exciting though.
You're listening to the wrong DFA79 then ;)
Not necessarily better, but definely ahead on the excitement front, if only though being a lot higher tempo and raw-er than RB: ruclips.net/video/So-yZjdHnK8/видео.html :)
They're different styles, DFA is heavily distorted to a point where it doesn't even sound like a bass, which obviously means they're gonna be less accessible at a public level.
One of their best tracks!
They finally played it!!!!
Think they were waiting on backup singers.
Months ago, Mike said that they were not comfortable to play How Did We Get So Dark alive. He said that they prefer to practice a little more instead of playing it in a bad way.
It seems like they're comfortable now.
They played at the show in cologne back in November.
They played it in Paradiso Amsterdam in May 2017, and like 3 more times between May and July (without backup singers)
I hope they play that one with the distorted bass guitar and drums
classic sims
Fuck off nob
That is a cool one.
It's a rocker, for sure.
Sure is a bop.
One of the best bands ever
An incredibly hard song to play AND sing simultaneously, props for this performance!
Is it just me or is the audio mixing of this performance really bad? for example, Mike's vocals seem too quiet. A great performance though
Drums are too far back i agree
Lloyd Taylor guitar is way too loud
It's a mighty fucked mix.
I also don't feel like they've got their normal set up; the guitar sounds thinner than usual
Audio mixing is very good here. All other recordings on their concerts are just to thin and empty. I love this one personally
Great performance ! Saw you in Leicester quite a few years back, only played 7 songs before the first album but a great show . So glad to see how far you've come x
Love ROYAL BLOOD this is one of my fav songs with figure it out
Saw them at Ally Pally.....awesome! Can't wait to see them again.
I just hope they'll be on Reading 2018 🙈🙊
moniskazz they’ll be headlining and I’m fucking going
Wish they’d played this at any of the 5 shows I saw them perform in 2017
Mike Taffet Did they happen to play Hole at any of those 5 shows you were at?
They played it in Birmingham UK 👌🏻
From what i heard is the reason they only play it on rare occasions is because the singer finds it difficult to play the song while singing. And shit i learned the song on guitar and found a new respect for royal blood
Mike! Dude your Royal Blood and Queens of the Stone Age vids are awesome! Helps me remember the night I saw them this year lol.
Great music! I will use it on my channel playlist!
One word ..... AMAZING!!!🤘
so young and yet they are fantastic .legends
amazing!
Finally a live version of this!
I knew that it was impossible to play AND SING the outro simultaneously
He did it though. Back in may in Amsterdam I think and didn't fail either... He's a beast :D But it was unnecessary difficulty added, way better the way it is now
That's some Dave Mustaine syncopation shit, if he indeed managed- respeck
Its polymetric so things don't align align the way you expect. Same thing with TTS
legendary sound... totally amazed
Very cool outro.
Great song love this band
They gotta come to montreal !!!
What an awful audience, damn. I attended the gig in Madrid last october and audience was SAVAGE.
MrRomero161 it’s for TV so I’m sure most of these people only know one or two songs from the band
jesus fuck you dumbass 12 year olds use the word savage for everything even non savage things and you have just ruined the fucking word
Watch them in Lollapalooza Argentina. That's is Savage audience
I wanna see!!!
How did you get Megan Fox on the backing vocals??
Cool crowd...was mobile phones banned for the show?🧐🤔...need more of this✊✌️🤟🤘
I have the exact same guitar model OMG
It’s a bass guitar so if you have an electric guitar it’s not the same thing 😜😂
Very good 😊
Getting some QOTSA vibes from this, nice!
I heard them say in an interview that this one was hard to do live.
Holy shit
Chorus reminds me of Could It Be Magic by Take That.
They will be in march 18 with the killers in Peru !!!!
The crowd clapping at the start lmao
You can tell he struggled to play it live a bit. I bet it’s hard as fuck to do that riff and sing
And those drum fills, especially during the last minute of the song
Dude i am a guitarist and i've tried to "sing" and play at the same time and it's so fucking hard!
I even struggle to walk and talk at the same time... Infinite respect for guys like Mike and Ben
Yeah I tried, and it is. While out of the black is quite simple, this one, despite it's similar structure is complicated. You can see that he only starts singing after some notes in the beginning, probably to get into it.
just a matter of muscle memory ; )
Out of curiosity does anyone know what the dancing girls are called?
Eye candy?
Eye candy!
Do that people get paid to be that quiet?? Cuz I'd be jumping and screamimg the hell out of me
What a cool fuckin venue
Who are the backing singers?
Like it 2.16...
Whomever is in charge of the sound mix at the BBC these days does not know what they are doing
yeehaw
The Audience were weird... If it wasn't a Royal Blood show I would've assumed that they were Happy Clapper God Botherer's...
Por dios, porque no saltan, que pechos fríos que son!!
defo st anger snare at the start
that was mike with his bass-guitar lol
oh shit you are right, it sounded like Ben's snare was out of tune 😂
mate, ive listened to the album version hundreds of times and thought exactly the same thing.....
Could've been mixed a bit better IMO
The audio is terrible
what's up with that snare
finally..... too bad the audio mix sucks
his bass is louder than the drums in this, but it sounds wayyy better than the studio version
loollll the climax is so anticlimactic in this live version how did they fuck the mix up so bad or is it just me
The audience like "how did we get so boring?"
Why does he use a bass instead ok a guitar?
I love this band, and this song, but this mix is awful.
The crowd is so weak!!!
Great performance but dear god that mix is shit, guitar is way too loud and doesn't sound as full as it usually does
It’s a bass with a bunch of effects but yes
@@gabeaddisonmusic I know he plays through an octaved bass :) just like to say guitar as they’re practically the same thing and still gets the point across
@@Alex-pc7kl well they’re aren’t really the same thing they have different jobs in music but they are both 😁
@@gabeaddisonmusic same body, different strings and tuning, pretty similar if you ask mr
@@Alex-pc7kl they do different jobs in music is what I mean they are similar
Am I the only one who thinks that the background singers are completely uneccessary?
DFA1979 > royal blood
is it so difficult to sonirize when there are only 2 people in it ? so bad performance...
What does “sonirize” mean?
I'm going to assume this guy doesn't actually know anything about music and is just stating his opinion, but "sonirize" isn't a word.
Saw them live.Ssounded complete and amazing
