Dataminer here: Let's start from the beginning: what's Bounciness and Friction? Bounciness is basically the percentage of velocity retained after the bounce, 1.0 = no velocity lost and 0.0 = no bounce. The base UVX has a velocity of 25 m/s and a bounciness of 0.13, which means that the base UVX's bounce will retain 13% of its base speed [25 * 0.13 = 3.25 m/s]. Friction affects the resistance to sliding along a surface. 0.0 = no friction (slides along surfaces), 1.0 = very high friction (does not slide at all). Base UVX has a friction of 0.5 (50%). With Milk, the Bounciness percentage is increased by +8% [total of 21%], which means that the ricochet speed is [25 * 0.21 = 5.25 m/s instead of 3.25 m/s], this is why ricochet shots are faster with Milk. Additionally, Friction is reduced by -15% (0.35), which means that with Milk, the projectile will slide more on certain surfaces. TL;DR Milk will ALWAYS increase your UVX distance by 2m~4m depending on the angle of the walls/objects it hits.
Unknown Uvx is like tf2’s grenade launchers, Normal uvx is like the iron bomber, but with milk it turns it into the default launcher. This helps me out when I play Unknown because I play tf2’s Demoman a lot and they act like those weapons.
Papa Unknown finally returned home with the milk!! Jokes aside, really interesting stuff! I'm definitely going to start giving this addon a try. Got way too many of them stocked up anyway. That shot at 8:00 looked VERY satisfying~
You're talking about the mounds on Eyrie! I love it! xD Absolutely right about the skill expression. I've been trying to coach two of my vecna players into using these with FOTD. I'd definitely love to talk to you about carton and other add-ons if you'd be up for it. I talk and am friends with a lot of unknown players such as HonestPanda, HarryBotterr, Lethaldiran and Revvium, so I'd absolutely love to meet you. Best of luck on your testing. Edit: All of them are not fans of slashed backpack, but I bet it could be a fun combo with milk carton.
This video is making me want to try testing out milk in my games now. I’ve been running mostly green addons (footprint and b movie roll) but I’m always looking for something new to try.
Man my brain is just not big enough to understand this add-on and I constantly worry that it’ll mess up my muscle memory so I just stick to Map, Tape Recorder, Movie Poster and Game Cartridge
What's incredibly silly about Milk Carton is that it unironically makes Swamp realm a lot easier to manage if you're an 80/20 m2/m1 Unknown player. This video was super helpful and awesome to watch cause now it's giving me a lot of notes to consider for my own experiments on this killer.
Hey Crow, thanks to this video I've actually started running milk as my primary add-on and I gotta say, you were absolutely right. The shots took a bit of getting used to, but the payoff on long walls has been incredible. Pop-ups and ricochets are ridiculously fluid, and God help any survivor who's running up or down a slope. You've rekindled my passion for my main after I was starting to worry I wouldn't be able to find new techs. My only question now is, do you have a Discord where I can get tips from other milk users?
No discord currently but it's on the to do list. Probably going to be a while though as I don't want to start one until I can figure out how to properly set it up and I have more pressing projects atm.
These are rough estimates for the most part: Research: Minimum of 5 hours, probably closer to 8-9 Gathering gameplay: At least 7 hours Scripting: 2 hours max Recording audio: 2 hours (including setting up my "good microphone and post production on it) Visual editing: 17 hours minimum. Thumbnails: 45 minutes ish. I definitely could have cut down some of it by realizing there was already something to make my crow shake when I spoke and I didn't need to manually keyframe it.
I definitely see some value here, it seems like an addon that lets you hit more fun shots. I do think most of the shots showcased here could also be hit without milk, but you would approach from a different angle or start charging at different times, etc. Seems more like something you get used to a different playstyle with rather than being a direct upgrade to regular gameplay.
some of it is still possible with base, but much harder to do. But there is some of it that is milk only, I had over 4 hours of testing footage that I obviously couldn't put all in the video. (Thats also just what I recorded, and not what I didn't/forgot to record.)
Was just going over this add on last night and thought to myself, there’s gotta be someone out there who uses this one just to be different and swears by it lol
i think that while it might be .. might be good to have i would think its best to have consistent shots than to have addons that change it making it variate alot and mess with muscle memory
And yet I already made a video about should this milk add-on be base kit? Because honestly, it makes his power more used for loops now and use for strategies.
I like that it's an optional upgrade where the trade off is the learning curve for it and not necessarily a hard coded penalty like iri film or box. But I think it becoming yellow/brown would be a great middle ground. That way it's easier to get enough of them to properly learn it.
@UnladenCrow i guarantee you if you run the milk add-on which you pretty much already did. But also run the notebooks of theories, I promise you unknown feels so much better, but that is up to you, though. You play how you wanna play.

time to main unknown
Also unknown can finally bring the milk home
I am the milkman. My milk is delicious.
You know i thought it was bad, but you sold me on the addon
quick question: does uvx bounce of off the ground too or it just explodes the moment it touches ground? (with and without the milk addon)
It does bounce off the ground, and milk increases the ground bounce too which makes it harder to hit ground shots than base
