Living close by, and being a member of the NT, it has been a great pleasure over the years to visit Sissinghurst and Knole with members of my family. The NT have done a wonderful job at Sissinghurst of maintaining the property and gardens and documenting Vita's life and work. And Knole's not too shabby either! Lovely video.

When i went to Sissinghurst a few years ago , I was overcome with a sense that i had been there in a past life.Nothing specific but maybe i was one of the servants or even the family. I regard it as an ancestoral home now

I visited Sissinghurst back in the early 2000's with my late father who I think had been there when he was growing up. It was an amazing day and the weather was kind so I was out and about taking photographs (for a qualification in photography) but I possibly missed the history to really take it all in. I think I'll add this to my bucket list of places to revisit again but to appreciate the history better and take a second day to photograph again with better knowledge.

You are a remarkable young woman. For the sake of the nation, don't let His Majesty The King see this video, or you might just cause thereby a constitutional crisis which could lead to a chain of events resulting in the destruction of all matter in the Ooniverse. When that was I but a little tinie childe I fell in love ❤️with Jeanne d'arc, so, natch, I purchased and read VSW's comprehensive biography of that Saint.. O'course I did not then know anything about the author's Sapphic tendencies or tendernesses, but now I recall her recounting of how she thought Joan felt on being shot with a crossbow bolt in the shoulder before Orleans, "The pain frightened her, and she wept".. Clearly I was not the only Fool who had such feelings. This is a charming and informative film, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. One to watch again and again. Keep all those skills up, Alice, and thank you SO MUCH for this. ❤️🌟👍

King Charles' wife; Camilla, Queen Consort, is the grand-niece of Violet Trefusis, another of Vita Sackville-West's lovers.
There's not a lot King Charles won't know about this house and garden, or Vita and Harold! I imagine he's visited many times, since he's very interested in gardens (he developed his own garden at Highgrove House over decades), especially the kind of 'naturalistic' gardening that Vita and Harold loved.
