- Twenty-seven years after it first appeared on Broadway, Stephen Sondheim's classic musical Into the Woods has finally gotten a film adaptation from Walt Disney Pictures. The movie interweaves the stories of some of the most timeless fairy tale characters, including Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, and Jack. Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) and Chris Pine (Star Trek) play Cinderella and Prince Charming. They spoke with TheaterMania about working with Sondheim "on the steps of the palace."

Chris portraying royalty in the movie reminded me of the Disney classic, The Princess Diaries 2. Lord knows how I loved that movie!!!!! Oh the Mia and Nicholas feels!!!

when I watched Into the Woods, I thought, "wow, he is a prince who is VERY obsessed with Cinderella" because he is really obsessed with her like so obsessed it's creepy

The whole time we were at the movie, my friend and I kept whispering about how Pine was more Kirk in this movie then he was in Star Trek. LOL
I dunno about the rest of the film but in Agony he was actually doing a Shatner impression because he thought it would be funnier
That is the part that we laughed the hardest at! So he succeeded, because we definitely recognized Shatner.

Sondheim, thank you for making very difficult songs for us. This is such an amazing musical. My oldest high school did Into the woods, and they brought in loads of real leaves into the auditorium. Their production was great

I hated this movie...LOOOOVE Anna Kendrick. but disney ruined this musical. It's not a PG musical. The re-writes were awful. The singing was terrible. The tempos were were high school paced...I was so disappointed :(
