thats because of the dual turbos and the govered rating on the engine. my dad has a 1997 f-350 with the 7.3 and its governed at 75% power. my friend put a superchip in their excursion with a 7.3 and it gave them 100 more hp and around 150 more ft lbs of torque
They did stop but the truck is large so the body stops after the breaks. It was just a delayed reaction. If one waits till the vehicle came to a full stop and wait the people behind would get pissed.
always remember that GM doesn't offer any more manual transmissions in their pickups any more. automatic transmissions heat up more easily that a manual.
at the end part... EPA is not available coz like the hummer H2 its might have 0 miles per gallon... lol (reminded me of TOP GEAR WHEN THEY TESTED THE HUMMER H2) hehe :)
well im not really into 3/4 ton pickups. i like half tons better, but this new f250 is so damn awesome. everytime i see one on the street i cant stop looking. lol
Yes, the Allison is a good trans. Just because its " Allison" doesn't make it the best trans in the world. I have gone threw 1 Allison in the Chevy "Freind used my Chevy to pull empty railroad cars". Ford's Torqshift is good. But Ford has a Dana 60 front instead of IFS. I have a 05' Chevy 2500 Duramax and 08' Ford F-250 powerstroke. Both are great. There is good and bad in every manufacture. Including Dodge. Oh, and before I sold my 92' F-350 gasser, it out pulled both my diesels. ;)
My 02 7.3 F-250 is about to roll over 300,000 miles and runs like a champ. I think if the new trucks came with a more modern and powerful 7.3 in them then everyone would buy one! 6.0 and 6.4 SUCKS!!!
@TheGontop1 its alright plenty of power for towing, and a modest bit of get up and go. Kinda expected it to be fast for 350hp and 650ft lbs of torque, and its also a pretty quiet engine. O wait i forgot, HORRID MPGS!!!!

yea my grandpa just got one of these, it was a little disappointing. exact same truck w.o the GPS, but it has a empty trailer on it it probably weights little over 4000 pounds and it has really bad acceleration, and HORRIBLE on fuel 10-12 MPG omfg.... while his 2002 dodge ram 3500 5.7 is better on fuel, has more power and its a dodge :)
My parents gave me a 97 F-350 Powerstroke 4 Door Longbed for my 16th birthday. They might buy me another truck in a couple years. But for now my 7.3 is still good.
powerstrokes are horrible.... go with Duramax Diesel... I have a Duramax, It has turbo whistle, And im at half a million kilometers so far and still running like new
i love my 7.3 also 320,000 and is still running strong but i kinda like the new 6.4 also. and by far the worst engine ever put in a ford diesel is the 6.0
@peter I tow heavy shit in my 97 ford f150 up to 1000 pounds on the bed it isnt a long bed its a regular O_O it does the job real good to bad it isn't a 4x4 DX but fuck it it runs like a beast I'd rather stick to trucks than on gay small cars sure it wastes a lot of gas but fuck it it's a working truck not one of them gay low rider show -.-

u can pull oer 20 mpg with a dpf delete kit and chip, 14 or 15 stock once its broken in

I have a F-250 with the 7.3. Great truck! But since they did away with it, GM is better. The Duramax and Allison trans are the best now.
@jesse112693 the 6.0 was put out to early because of competition demands it had many flaws but the 2006 6.0 is better

They should have kept the 7.3 Powerstroke Turbo. But since Ford's 6.0, GM is the better truck. Can't beat the Dmax and Allison combo.

Agreed. The 6.0 and 6.4 have awful reliability.
Take off the dpf, throw a tuner(275hp-310hp) and your looking at nearly double that mileage plus you got a 550+rwhp and over 1k in torque.

One guy floored one on my street, it took off like a smart car. They're so slow. The 6.7 cummins is way more capable and faster
when they came out with the new light style i hated it but its seriously growing on me !

I have a 2008 f-350 super duty crew cab lariat dually and I got like around 12 mpg on the highway but tuned right and it does get around 20
I have always liked it on the Super Duty. What I want to know is what is the front of a Super Duty doing on the front of the E-Series!

That fuel economy was an out right lye. Stock it'll get 9 mpg. Now if you "fix" the exhaust and tune it the you get like 20 mpg.
