The Auto Garage Door Operator is a well constructed device for operating panel sectioned garage doors.
The unit works quietly. It slows down at each end of travel and repeatedly stops at exactly the programmed limits. The force limiting reversing function works well except close to the end of down travel.
The instructions are quite well written and the video is well produced. There are some confusing issues with both the written instructions and the video as detailed below.
The pieces of track are a very tight fit. This is beneficial aiding the strength and alignment of the track when assembled. Because it is difficult to dismantle the track it is important to locate the trolley (supplied in the shorter box, not the track components box) and insert it in the track before completing assembly. The instructions for inserting the trolley are in the plastic bag with the push button controllers. Inserting the trolley can only be done when two long sections of track during assembly are spaced at least 120 mm apart before hammering them home. Instruction item no.7 is impossible to perform because the end bracket “B” prevents access for the trolley. Otherwise follow the directions which come in the long box. Ideally all the instructions and all the components for the track should have been in the long box.
The operating arm which comes in two pieces, one straight and one cranked, should be assembled as short as possible otherwise the travel on the toothed belt may be insufficient to raise the door to the maximum height.
After the door travel limits have been set the remote controllers must be programmed and then the force setting procedure executed. The video has the force setting and remote controller operations in the reverse order which is impossible because after the door operator has run the door open and closed the ‘up and ‘down’ buttons do not work to raise and lower the door for force setting. You need the remote controllers working to do the force setting. Start at Force level 1 and work up. The use of a 50 mm block was not possible in my case. I had to use a 150 mm block to test the reversing function.
The video also does not tell you that a number ‘2’ appears in place of the number ‘1’ after the open limit has been set. The warning label shown in the video was missing from my purchase.
    I hope this helps.

No. You will have to get a Merlin replacement unit to match your existing hardware configuration.
